Florida Gov. DeSantis Suspends State Attorney Andrew Warren for Failure to Prosecute
[PJMedia] In a news conference that aired live on Rumble, Facebook, and Twitter, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the immediate suspension of Hillsborough County state attorney Andrew Warren for consistent refusal to enforce certain laws. Accompanied by county sheriffs and law enforcement officers, DeSantis said Warren has publicly put himself above the law, citing Warren’s announcement that he would refuse to enforce any Florida laws limiting abortion in the wake of the Dobbs decision, laws against allowing children to undergo mutilating surgeries, and a consistent record of charges not being brought in violent crime cases.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister spoke, citing the case of a shooting that targeted a young family in which Warren failed to file charges, only for the suspect to continue to commit violent offenses. Chronister said the state attorney told him they didn’t prosecute because the depositions would be too long and complicated.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd then spoke about liberal cities like Chicago, New York, and Portland that have failed to prosecute violent crimes and the resulting spikes in crime in those cities. He noted that it’s the elected prosecutors who decide whether or not to support law enforcement and keep people safe.

DeSantis made a point of distinguishing between prosecutorial discretion (which is rightly exercised on a case-by-case basis) and a consistent stance of refusing to uphold the constitution and laws of Florida.

Today’s announcement came in the wake of Warren’s public proclamations that he would not prosecute riot crimes or laws against late term abortion, despite his oath to uphold the laws of the state of Florida. In June, he signed on to a letter vowing to protect abortion:

Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren issued a joint statement with prosecutors nationwide declining to go after people “who seek, provide, or support abortions” following the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

The prosecutors who signed on to the letter from the organization Fair and Just Prosecution say that while they all don’t agree on abortion, “we stand together in our firm belief that prosecutors have a responsibility to refrain from using limited criminal legal system resources to criminalize personal medical decisions.

In 2020, Warren declined to file charges against rioters in the wake of the George Floyd killing:

Hillsborough State Attorney Andrew Warren will not prosecute 67 protesters arrested June 2.

The 67 individuals were arrested for unlawful assembly during demonstrations calling for police reform [in] the face of the George Floyd killing in Minneapolis.

Warren’s office said Monday during a news conference they would not be filing charges.

“I’ve said many times that criminal justice reform involves looking at each case as a problem to solve, not just a person to be punished,” State Attorney Warren said. “In these unlawful assembly cases, there is no value in filing charges,” Warren said. “Prosecuting people for exercising their First Amendment rights creates problems rather than solving them. It can weaken the bonds between law enforcement and the community, while undermining faith in our system.”

DeSantis has laid down a marker, refusing to allow any Florida county or municipality to become one of those blue cities overcome by crime and violence due to woke politics and misapplied social justice.

Where Are All the Hurricanes?
I figgered all the hot air in Texas and the midwest sucked the heat out of the hurricane season.
[Forbes] It is the Atlantic hurricane season, and all of the seasonal projection experts said the same thing. It’s going to be another above-average season. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) website notes, "Based on a 30-year climate period from 1991 to 2020, an average Atlantic hurricane season has 14 named storms, 7 hurricanes, and 3 major hurricanes." To date, three storms have been named, and they were all tropical storms.
But, never fear - the worst is yet to come!
While the past few weeks have been normal to slightly-below normal, it may surprise some readers that activity is still trending slightly ahead of schedule relative to climatological normals over a 30-year period. The third named storm of the season does not typically form until August 3rd. This year it formed around July 4th. On average, we do not expect the first hurricane and major storm (> category 3 on the Saffir-Simpson scale) until August 11th and September 1st, respectively. The next named system in the basin (4th storm) does not usually form until around August 15th.
Many more boring meteorological details at the link.

#8  COMPARE AND CONTRAST:

* Had this happened anywhere in the US - and actually, a good chunk of the West - she would be slightly contrite while still at least strongly implying that she was being persecuted for her skin color and sexual orientation. There might be a few days in a minimum security facility, served at her convenience. There would be a minimal fine, possibly some public service, and she would go back to telling everyone how awful it was here for Someone Like Her.

*In Russia, there is no appeal, no demand that her color or orientation be brought into consideration, because they don't care. There's no comparatively cushy 'Club Fed' to go to - Russian prisons are maybe one step ahead of a dungeon. You start your time when you're found guilty. And she's about to find out that if there's one thing Russians like less than Ukranians or Poles...it's Someone Like Her, where her lifestyle alone would bring a prison sentence and they are not at all fond of anyone of African heritage.

I hope she gets out soon.

And I hope she's learned.

But I'm not counting on it.

Ambush of French Firemen, Police with Firebombs and Fireworks Lasted Four Hours
Just another standard French summer, thanks to the Moslem colonist yoots in the suburbs.
[Breitbart] Police and firefighters in the French city of Limoges were subjected to attacks by Molotov cocktails and mortar fireworks for at least four hours this week after being lured to a “sensitive” area of the city.

The four-hour-long battle between locals and police and firefighters took place over the course of Monday night and early Tuesday morning. The assaults took place in the district of Val de l’Aurence, which is described as being a “sensitive” area, French government jargon for what others in Europe might term a ‘no go zone’.

China-Japan-Koreas
The U.S. made a breakthrough battery discovery ‐ then gave the technology to China
[NPR] When a group of engineers and researchers gathered in a warehouse in Mukilteo, Wash., 10 years ago, they knew they were onto something big. They scrounged up tables and chairs, cleared out space in the parking lot for experiments and got to work.

They were building a battery — a vanadium redox flow battery — based on a design created by two dozen U.S. scientists at a government lab. The batteries were about the size of a refrigerator, held enough energy to power a house, and could be used for decades. The engineers pictured people plunking them down next to their air conditioners, attaching solar panels to them, and everyone living happily ever after off the grid.

"It was beyond promise," said Chris Howard, one of the engineers who worked there for a U.S. company called UniEnergy. "We were seeing it functioning as designed, as expected."

But that's not what happened. Instead of the batteries becoming the next great American success story, the warehouse is now shuttered and empty. All the employees who worked there were laid off. And more than 5,200 miles away, a Chinese company is hard at work making the batteries in Dalian, China.

The Chinese company didn't steal this technology. It was given to them — by the U.S. Department of Energy. First in 2017, as part of a sublicense, and later, in 2021, as part of a license transfer. An investigation by NPR and the Northwest News Network found the federal agency allowed the technology and jobs to move overseas, violating its own licensing rules while failing to intervene on behalf of U.S. workers in multiple instances.

Now, China has forged ahead, investing millions into the cutting-edge green technology that was supposed to help keep the U.S. and its economy out front.

Department of Energy officials declined NPR's request for an interview to explain how the technology that cost U.S. taxpayers millions of dollars ended up in China. After NPR sent department officials written questions outlining the timeline of events, the federal agency terminated the license with the Chinese company, Dalian Rongke Power Co. Ltd.

"DOE takes America's manufacturing obligations within its contracts extremely seriously," the department said in a written statement. "If DOE determines that a contractor who owns a DOE-funded patent or downstream licensee is in violation of its U.S. manufacturing obligations, DOE will explore all legal remedies."

Several U.S. companies have tried to get a license to make the batteries
The department is now conducting an internal review of the licensing of vanadium battery technology and whether this license — and others — have violated U.S. manufacturing requirements, the statement said.

Forever Energy, a Bellevue, Wash., based company, is one of several U.S. companies that have been trying to get a license from the Department of Energy to make the batteries. Joanne Skievaski, Forever Energy's chief financial officer, has been trying to get hold of a license for more than a year and called the department's decision to allow foreign manufacturing "mind boggling."

From all of this I can only imagine one solution: Politicians from the federal to the local level, including the likes of Nancy Pelosi and the Biden crime family, are getting a cut of the fentanyl action. They don't want the traffic stopped, they don't want the dealers prosecuted. How else can it be explained?

OK, on second thought, here's another possible explanation: Since the fentanyl precursor chemicals come from China to Mexico, maybe it's Xi Jinping who wants to destroy America by turning us all into fentanyl junkies. And since Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi are corrupted by that bastard, they won't stop it.

Well, anybody else have any other possible explanations for this nonsense?

Meanwhile, just down the road in Los Angeles, Boudin's colleague George Gascon along with California Attorney General Rob Bonta are doing their part:

California prosecutors back off punishing cartel marijuana farmers breaking environmental laws

BTW, the petition had enough signatures so Gascon will face a recall election in November. He's too crazy even for Los Angeles.

Economy
Even Biden's Favorite Economist Says Inflation Reduction Act Won't Reduce Inflation
[Free Beacon] The $433 billion Inflation Reduction Act will have no meaningful impact on consumer costs, according to the economist President Joe Biden cites most often.

By the end of 2031, the latest Democratic reconciliation bill would shave just .33 percent from the Consumer Price Index, the traditional inflation metric, according to a report from Moody's Analytics chief economist Mark Zandi. The current CPI is 9.1 percent, the highest in over 40 years.

Zandi and his coauthors say the Inflation Reduction Act will only "nudge the economy and inflation in the right direction." And that conclusion strains the definition of "nudge." Americans will see no change in inflation due to the bill, the report states, until the third quarter of 2023—a .01 percent decrease.

Zandi's analysis is often shared by the White House or the president himself. During a February 2021 speech, Biden cited Zandi's work twice while pitching his economic agenda. In July of last year, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) called on lawmakers to read Zandi's favorable report on the bipartisan infrastructure bill.

But Zandi's latest findings have not deterred the White House. Both Chief of Staff Ron Klain and Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates retweeted a CNN reporter's tweet that quotes the report as saying the bill will "meaningfully address climate change and [reduce] the government's budget deficits."

The White House's celebration of the report signals how desperate they are to pass a budget reconciliation package before the midterm elections. Initially named "Build Back Better," the bill has seen a number of rebranding attempts as voters increasingly sour on Biden's presidency over the economic concerns.

Zandi and his coauthors conclude that the inflation reduction bill lowers consumer costs for some medications, something the White House highlighted, although they decline to specify the total savings. Moreover, the deflationary benefits from lower health costs, the authors write, do not kick in until "mid-decade."

Britain
Britain's most remote mainland pub
[BBC] The only ways to get to the Old Forge Pub are by sea ferry or by a two-day, 18-mile hike across the Scottish Highlands — a trip that gives new meaning to the term "pub crawl".

Our journey began at the end of the road. The longest dead-end road in Britain, in fact. It took two hours of knuckle-whitening jags around hairpin bends and past sheer descents, on a 22-mile taxi ride from the town of Fort William in the western Scottish Highlands, to get to our starting point of Kinloch Hourn.

In the company of two friends, Carl and José, I was embarking on a journey to the most remote pub in mainland Britain. Accessible only by sea ferry or by a two-day, 18-mile hike across the Scottish Highlands from the small settlement of Kinloch Hourn (or an even longer, 28-mile yomp from the hamlet of Glenfinnan), the Old Forge sits in the village of Inverie, on the southern coast of the Knoydart peninsula. "Walking in" to the pub is a rite of passage in the outdoors community, and one we were keen to tick off, thirsty in equal measure for adventure and the extreme satisfaction of a pint well earned.

Forming part of the so-called Rough Bounds – the "highlands of the Highlands" – Knoydart is remote and inaccessible even by local standards. There are no streetlights, you can't get a mobile phone signal, and the seven miles of paved roads are unconnected to the mainland network. Around 120 residents lived here at the last count, spread across 86 square miles (that's approximately the same population density as Alaska). The majority of those brave and hardy souls live in Inverie, and now, after a community buyout in March 2022, most of them own a stake in the Old Forge.

Economy
This key indicator has foreseen the past 8 recessions‐and it's sending off warning signals again
[Fortune Magazine] There’s a heated debate going on across the country about the proper definition of a recession.

When investors got the news that U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) contracted for the second consecutive quarter this spring, many were quick to claim that a recession was here. But most economists argue that the U.S. isn’t officially in a recession until the National Bureau of Economic Research, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that conducts research and assesses market cycles, makes the call.

All debates aside, there are some undeniable signs that the economy is slowing, and this week another recession indicator began sending off warning signals.

A YIELD CURVE INVERSION
A key part of the U.S. yield curve inverted on Tuesday for the first time since March 2020, when the economy was in the depths of the COVID-19-induced recession.

The yield curve is a line that plots the interest rates of government bonds with different maturity dates. The slope of that line can be a very useful recession indicator for the Federal Reserve.

Typically, the yields on short-duration government bonds are lower than those on long-term bonds, because investors take on more risk holding longer-term investments. This means that the yield curve is usually upward-sloping, and when that changes, it can signal economic issues.

A flat yield curve indicates "weak growth" in the economy, while a steep upward sloping curve indicates "strong growth," researchers at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland recently described. And when the yield curve inverts, meaning that yields on short-duration bonds move higher than yields on long-term government bonds, it can signal an impending recession.

That’s what’s happening now. The difference between the yield on 10-year U.S. treasuries and three-month U.S. treasuries fell to just 0.04% to start the week, and it even briefly dipped into negative territory on Tuesday, FactSet data shows.

That’s not great news for the U.S. economy given that the last eight U.S. recessions were all preceded by an inversion of the 10-year and three-month Treasury yields.

Still, Cleveland Fed researchers noted in their report that while the yield curve can be "important information for business cycle analysis," it should "be interpreted with caution."

After all, the 2s-10s yield curve, another popular recession indicator that measures the difference in yields between two-year and 10-year U.S. treasuries, was inverted for most of the month of July, but we’re still debating whether the U.S. is in a recession or not.

That doesn’t mean we should ignore the yield curve, however. In January, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell admitted that the yield curve remains "one of many things" that the Fed monitors when tracking the health of the American economy. And when asked about its recession implications, Powell added:

"I don’t think of it as some kind of an iron law. But we do look at it and try to understand the implications and what it’s telling us."

Mohamed El-Erian, a noted economist who serves as the president of Queens’ College, University of Cambridge, also wrote in a Monday tweet that the current yield curve inversion is a sign that investors are concerned about global economic growth.

And on top of that, Alfonso Peccatiello, the former head of fixed income portfolio management at ING Deutschland, argued in an article on Tuesday that the yield curve’s inversion could not only be a sign of economic issues, it may also contribute to them.

"An inverted yield curve not only predicts, but it directly contributes to sharp economic slowdowns: As refinancing credit short-term becomes prohibitively expensive while markets already price in poor expectations for long-term growth, the economic engine actually slows down and a vicious circle unfolds," he wrote.

#4  each recession is different but there are some fairly obvious types and economists could have and should have produced a typology by now

so far this recession has been shallow and we've had a number of other shallow recessions

what would be bad is if the recession deepened a lot, e.g., 2008-09 - so far that is not the case -- or if we got a double dip recession e.g., 1979, 1981-82

#10  NBER is a non profit org. It is self governing although big contributors are on the board of directors.

They are about the only org that does detailed research on the business cycle (many economists consider the biz cycle an ugly duckling dead end).

It is funded by grants and contract research. NIH and NSF are two govt agencies that fund contract research.

A number of private foundations also fund research or have grant programs that fund the NBER's indirect admin costs: e.g., Gates Foundation, Sloan Foundation, Bradley Foundation.

'I impeached Bush twice': Bumbling Nadler stumbles through debate opening
[NYPOST] Longshot challenger Suraj Patel came out swinging in the Democratic primary debate for the race to represent Manhattan’s Upper West and Upper East sides, saying it’s time to retire septuagenarian Reps. Jerrold Nadler and Carolyn Maloney.

The call for new blood from the 38-year-old came right after Nadler stumbled badly through his own opening statement.

"It’s 2022. It’s time to turn the page on 1992," Patel, 38, said in a swipe at Nadler, 75, and Maloney, 76, during his introductory statement in the debate co-sponsored by NY1 and WNYC.

Nadler’s delivery was halting during his initial presentation and he misspoke and often seemed unable to come up with the right words.

And then Nadler, the House Judiciary Committee chairman, uttered a real whopper, proclaiming, "I’ve impeached Bush twice."

He was referring to his oversight of the politically divisive
...politicians call things divisive when when the other side sez something they don't like. Their own statements are never divisive, they're principled...
impeachments of former President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
, whom he confused with either the 41st or 43rd president.

Nadler’s bumbling seemed to prove Patel’s point.

"Nineteen-nineties Democrats have lost about every major battle to Mitch McConnell
...Senate minority leader from Kentucky. A politician's politician, Mitch is smarter than he's given credit for, not as smart as he thinks he is. He is married to former education secretary Elaine Chao, whose father has extensive shipping interests, including a company in China, which makes sense since he's Chinese. He is sometimes maligned as Cocaine Mitch because a few million bucks' worth of the drug was once found on one of his father-in-law's ships in Colombia, which is kind of a tenuous assertion, to say the least...
and the Republicans," said Patel, referring to the Senate Republican leader from Kentucky.

Meanwhile,
...back at the dirigible, Jack stuck the cigar in his mouth, stepped onto the gantry, and asked Got a light, Mac?

Von Schtinken stopped short, lowering the dagger and trying to control his features.

If you light that thing, Herr Armschtröng, he pointed out, his voice tense, we all die!...

Nadler sat during the entire 90-minute session while Maloney and Patel stood at their lecterns.

Nadler had many other verbal stumbles throughout the debate and at one point when the moderators offered him a chance to respond since his name had been brought up by an opponent, he seemed stunned and had nothing to say.

At one point, WNYC moderator Brigid Bergin asked Nadler about the importance of seniority and how he and Maloney differed on policies, two related but different questions.

Nadler answered that seniority is important if used effectively, but forgot about the Maloney comparison.

"The second one, the second question, what was the second one?" Nadler asked.

Maloney made waves for a different reason during the debate: She predicted that President Joe Biden
...... 46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem machine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family, the guy who bungled Afghanistan......
, 79, would not run for re-election.

"I don’t believe he’s running for re-election," Maloney said.

Nadler, meanwhile, would not commit to supporting Biden’s re-election and would only answer, "It’s too early to say," when asked.

Europe
Scholz opens door to extend nuclear as Russia squeezes gas supply
More resilience ==> less leverage for Russia.
[ANNAHAR] German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Wednesday raised the possibility of keeping nuclear plants going as he accused Russia of blocking the delivery of a key turbine to throttle gas supplies to Europe.

The continent's biggest economy has been scrambling for energy sources to fill a gap left by a reduction in gas supplies from Moscow.

Standing next to the turbine, Scholz said that extending the lifetime of Germany's three remaining nuclear power plants "can make sense".

The power stations, which are set to be taken off the grid at the end of the year, were "relevant exclusively for electricity production, and only for a small part of it", Scholz said.

In total, the nuclear fleet accounts for six percent of Germany's electricity output.

The government has said it will await the outcome of a new "stress test" of the national electric grid before determining whether to stick with the long-planned phase-out.

- NUCLEAR SWITCH -
Former chancellor Angela Merkel
...chancellor of Germany and the impetus behind Germany's remarkably ill-starred immigration program. Merkel used to be referred to by Germans as Mom. Now they make faces at her for inundating the country with Moslem colonists...
spectacularly decided to ditch atomic energy in 2011 following the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan.

Extending the lifetime of the plants has set off a heated debate in Germany, where nuclear power has been a source of controversy stretching back before Merkel's decision.

Germany has already moved to restart mothballed coal power plants to guard against an energy shortfall.

The squeeze comes as Russia dwindles supplies of gas, which Germany has long relied on to power industry and heat homes.

Russian energy giant Gazprom has chalked up limited supplies to technical issues.

The delayed return of a turbine from Canada, where the unit was being serviced, was behind the initial reduction in deliveries via the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline in June, according to Gazprom.

Supplies via the energy link were further reduced to around 20 percent of capacity in late July, after Gazprom halted the operation of one of the last two operating turbines due to the "technical condition of the engine".

Alligator with knife in its head found swimming in Florida pond
Not the same as sharks with friggin' lasers in their heads.
[NYPOST] An alligator in a Florida pond gave passerby a scare over the weekend when it was spotted swimming with a large knife sticking out of its head.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said on Monday it was notified about photos depicting the knifed reptile circulating on social media, ClickOrlando.com reported.

Reports stated that several passersby observed the alligator in a pond along Providence Boulevard in Deltona on a recent afternoon.

FWC officers were dispatched to the location over the weekend and captured the alligator with the knife still protruding from the top of its head.

The animal was then euthanized because of the severity of its injuries.

The person who stabbed the alligator has not been identified yet.

Florida laws prohibit intentionally killing or injuring an alligator, unless authorized by the FWC commission, or as part of the Statewide Alligator Harvest Program.

Kari Lake Pulls Ahead in Arizona, Trump-endorsed Candidates Run the Board
[THECONSERVATIVETREEHOUSE] The Trump-endorsed candidates in Arizona are running the board; however, the corrupt, conniving and scheming UniParty constructs that have thoroughly infected the state election process still remain.

As it currently stands, Trump-endorsed Blake Masters appears to have easily won the GOP primary in the Senate race and will now face Mark Kelly. The comprehensively corrupt Rusty Bowers, the Arizona state House speaker who was insistent upon retaining corruption as a political business model — and a favorite of the J6 committee in DC, has thankfully lost his bid for a state senate seat to Trump-endorsed David Farnsworth.

Additionally, Trump-endorsed Kari Lake has taken a sizable lead in Governor’s primary race over decepticon Mike Pence-endorsed Karrin Taylor Robson.

Meanwhile,
...back at the dirigible, Cynthia backed into the galley, the barbecue fork held in front of her.
Jack! she called. Where the hell are you?...

Arizona voters have overwhelmingly selected Trump-endorsed Mark Finchem as their candidate for the secretary of state’s office. Perhaps Finchem, if he succeeds in the general election, can finally fix the insufferable mess of Arizona elections.

Kari Lake’s victory, if certified, is a profound set-back for the two UniParty wings of the political club.

No doubt RNC Club Chairwoman Heavy McD (Ronna McDaniel) ate a few extra slices of red velvet cake for breakfast before throwing the coffee pot at the trembling concierge hiding behind the spa door. For the Arizona contest, Ms Kari Lake raised about $3.8 million in mostly small dollar donations, while Ms. Taylor Robson -a billionaire club member- raised more than $18 million. The one thing Arizona voters and Heavy D would agree upon, is that Arizona rebels are revolting.

In the State of Florida, it was always Broward County that led to more than twenty years of constant eyerolls whenever an election cycle came around. The issues with Broward County voting in the sunshine state were well documented, transparently corrupt and brutally obvious for decades.

Then newly elected Governor Ron DeSantis finally intervened, appointed state oversight, removed the corrupt Brenda Snipes (with her entire staff) as supervisor of elections, and ’presto’ — just like that all of the Broward County issues mysteriously resolved. In 2020 the full state reported election results by 10pm on election night. Funny that.

The state of Arizona, specifically Maricopa and Pima counties, who seem to need days -if not weeks- to tally their votes, perhaps needing the assistance of DNC (If you're white you ain't right!)
...Democrat National Committee, where all those off-the-wall talking points originate...
trained carrier pigeons handled by GOPe caretakers, has become the new Broward County.

Despite the intransigence of the GOP club, the turban MAGA victories continue....

Iran/EU/US Nuke talks to resume-
DUBAI, Aug 3 (Reuters) - Top Iranian and U.S. officials will resume talks in Vienna this week on reviving the 2015 nuclear pact, officials from both countries said on Wednesday, though they played down chances of a breakthrough and placed the onus on each other to compromise...
Why this farce, you may ask. Analysts say neither side wants to be blamed for collapse of the negotiations. US doesn't want to admit Iran is going nuke. Iran doesn't want to be blamed for going nuke.
And Israel is quietly preparing to do what needs to be done in defiance of America protecting Iran.

10 career criminals racked up nearly 500 arrests since NY bail reform began
90-10 rule. Or maybe 80-20. A small number of criminals commit most of the crimes, so get them off the street and the crime rate drops like a rock. Or don’t, and watch it go up like a rocket. They’ll be writing all new case studies for the same old principles in the textbooks after this little experiment.
[NYPOST] A small group of just 10 career criminals was allowed to run amok across the Big Apple and rack up nearly 500 arrests after New York enacted its controversial bail-reform law — and most of them are still out on the streets, The Post has learned.

Stunning statistics compiled by the NYPD show that the city’s alleged "worst of the worst" repeat offenders have been busted a total of 485 times since bail reform went into effect in 2020.

Two of the unidentified defendants are actually accused of embarking on lives of crime in the wake of bail reform, with one busted 33 times since 2020 and the other busted 22 times, all this year, the data shows.

Mayor Eric Adams — who’s been demanding that state politicians roll back the bail-reform law to crack down on repeat offenders — is expected to discuss the disturbing findings Wednesday during an afternoon news conference at One Police Plaza.

Two killed over Karabakh as warring sides claim violations
[ANNAHAR] Two soldiers were killed Wednesday over the breakaway region of Nagorno-Karabakh as the two warring sides accused each other of ceasefire violations.

Arch enemies Armenia and Azerbaijan fought two wars -- in 2020 and in the 1990s -- over Azerbaijan's Armenian-populated region of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Armenia ceded swathes of territory it had controlled for decades, and Russia deployed some 2,000 peacekeepers to oversee the fragile truce, but tensions persist despite a ceasefire agreement.

On Wednesday, the Azerbaijani defense ministry said Karabakh troops targeted Azerbaijani army positions in the district of Lachin, which is under the supervision of the Russian peacekeeping force, killing an Azerbaijani conscript.

The foreign ministry in Baku said that the "bloody incident" demonstrated that Armenia did not respect the ceasefire agreement.

"All responsibility for the incident in Azerbaijan lies with military and politicianship of Armenia, which has not yet withdrawn its illegal armed formations from the territory of the neighboring state," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

The army of the breakaway statelet accused Azerbaijan of violating a ceasefire Wednesday morning and killing one soldier and wounding another eight at the line of contact later in the day.

"Measures are being taken together with Russian peacekeepers to stabilize the situation," the Karabakh army said in a statement.

Six weeks of fighting in the autumn of 2020 claimed more than 6,500 lives and ended with a Russian-brokered ceasefire agreement.

rebel movement in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
Although Tuesday's approvals are for defensive weapons, they may be questioned by politicians who had supported Biden's decision last year to cut Saudi Arabia and the UAE off from major purchases of offensive U.S. arms because of their involvement in the war in Yemen.

The new sales include $3 billion for Patriot missiles for Saudi Arabia specifically designed to protect itself from rocket attacks by the Houthis, and $2.2 billion for high-altitude missile defense for the UAE.

"The proposed sale will improve the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's capability to meet current and future threats by replenishing its dwindling stock of PATRIOT GEM-T missiles," the State Department said in its notice informing Congress of the sale.

"These missiles are used to defend the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's borders against persistent Houthi cross-border unmanned aerial system and ballistic missile attacks on civilian sites and critical infrastructure in Saudi Arabia," the department said.

For UAE, the department said the sale would "support the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve the security of an important regional partner. The UAE is a vital U.S. partner for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East."

Early in his administration Biden had pledged to cut off or cut back weapons sales to both Saudi Arabia and the UAE because of their actions in Yemen.

[ANNAHAR] The U.S. Justice Department has said it is seeking possession of a Venezuela

It turned out the wealth wasn't unlimited, the economy collapsed under the clownish Hugo Chavez, the murder rate exceeded places like Honduras and El Salvador. since early June because it was previously owned by an Iranian airline that allegedly has ties to terror groups.

The request to Argentina was revealed a day after an Argentine judge allowed 12 of the 19 crewmembers of the plane to leave the country as authorities continue to investigate possible terror ties of those traveling in the Boeing 747. Federal Judge Federico Villena said late Monday that the remaining four Iranians and three Venezuelans must stay.

The U.S. request sent to Argentina on Tuesday followed the unsealing of a warrant in federal court in the District of Columbia that was issued last month and that argues the U.S-made plane should be forfeited because of violations of U.S. export control laws.

The plane, according to the Justice Department, was transferred from Iranian airline Mahan Air — which officials have alleged provides support for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force — to Emtrasur, a subsidiary of Venezuela's state-owned Consorcio Venezolano de Industrias Aeronáuticas y Servicios Aéreos, or CONVIASA. CONVIASA is under U.S. sanctions.

By transferring the airplane to the Venezuelan firm in October without prior U.S. government authorization, Mahan Air violated a 2008 order issued by the Department of Commerce that has since been periodically renewed, the U.S. says. The Justice Department says Emtrasur subsequently re-exported the plane between Caracas, Tehran and Moscow -- also without U.S. government approval.

"The Department of Justice will not tolerate transactions that violate our sanctions and export laws," Matthew Olsen, the head of the Justice Department's national security division, said in a statement. "Working with our partners across the globe, we will give no quarter to governments and state-sponsored entities looking to evade our sanctions and export control regimes in service of their malign activities."

The moves marked the latest development in the saga of the mysterious plane, which landed June 6 at Ezeiza International Airport outside Buenos Aires and was grounded two days later.

The case has raised attention in several South American countries as well as the United States and Israel amid allegations that the plane was a cover for Iranian intelligence operations in the region. Iran
...The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both...
and Venezuela vehemently deny those claims.

The issue has caught the attention of members of U.S. Congress. On July 26, a dozen U.S. Republican senators wrote a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland
...Attorney General of the U.S., who classifies indignant parents as domestic terrorists. The is the respected legal scholar Obama nominated for the Supreme Court...
accusing the Justice Department of failing to assist Argentine authorities in its investigation of the Venezuelan plane.

Rep. Darrell Issa, a Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Republican, pressed Olsen about it at a hearing last week and lamented that in his view Iran was not receiving the scrutiny it deserved. Olsen said he was aware of the case but added: "This is an ongoing matter. I can't talk about the specifics."

The U.S. Commerce Department took its own action Tuesday, announcing it had suspended for 180 days the export privileges of Emtrasur.

The Israeli government has praised Argentina for grounding the plane and contends at least some the Iranian crew members "were involved directly in the trafficking of weapons to Syria and the terrorist organization Hezbollah of Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity™, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade...
Among those who will continue to be prohibited from leaving Argentina is the Iranian pilot of the plane, Gholamreza Ghasemi.

Ghasemi is a former commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard and is a shareholder and board member of Iran's Qeshm Fars Air, which the U.S. Treasury Department has said is controlled by Mahan Air and provides material support to the Quds Force.

The other crew members required to remain in Argentina are Abdolbaset Mohammadim, Mohammad Khosraviaragh and Saeid Vali Zadeh of Iran and Mario Arraga, Víctor Pérez Gómez and José García Contreras of Venezuela.

"What is being investigated is whether, under the appearance of legal activity, they are financing terrorism operations (specifically with Hezbollah) or whether they are part of a plan that has ties with" Hezbollah, the judge wrote.

Villena emphasized that connections with Iran's Revolutionary Guard are not under investigation because Argentina does not consider it to be a terrorist organization.

Mahan Air has denied any ties to the aircraft and Venezuela has demanded that Argentine authorities release the plane.

Yet Argentine authorities who searched the plane found a Mahan Air flight log documenting the aircraft's flights after the transfer to Emtrasur, including a flight to Tehran in April, the Justice Department said.

The plane was carrying cargo for several Argentine auto parts companies that it loaded in Mexico before stopping in Caracas and arriving in Argentina.

The plane is also under investigation in Paraguay, where the plane landed in May and spent three days in Ciudad del Este, near the border with Argentina, where it loaded cigarettes to transport to Aruba, according to Paraguayan authorities.

There are suspicions the plane's cargo was "a facade" that hid the real reason for its time in Paraguay, says René Fernández, a former prosecutor who leads Paraguay's National Anticorruption Secretariat.

Villena said the plane's stopover in Paraguay was "at least striking" and added that further investigation was needed.

José Paulino Pascual-Reyes, 37, is facing kidnapping charges and multiple counts of capital murder in connection to the bodies found at the home after a 12-year-old girl was discovered walking along a roadside early Monday in Dadeville.

Tallapoosa County Sheriff Jimmy Abbett told news hounds at a presser that a driver picked up the girl and called 911 — setting off an investigation that led to Pascual-Reyes’ arrest and the gruesome discovery, AL.com reported.

Pascual-Reyes, who remains tossed in the calaboose
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
pending a bond hearing, was arrested in Auburn. The bodies were found in his Dadeville home, not far from where the girl was discovered wandering alone.

The decomposing remains have been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences to be identified, Abbett said, adding it’s unclear how long they had been there.
They hadn't yet mummified. "It's a fluid investigation"
"It’s a fluid investigation," the sheriff told news hounds. "Things are changing, and I don’t want to jeopardize the identification of our juvenile."

Court filings obtained by WSFA show the girl had been tied to bedposts for nearly a week. She was assaulted and plied with alcohol, but managed to escape by chewing through her restraints, the documents show.

Authorities did not indicate whether the girl knew Pascual-Reyes, AL.com reported.

“I would say she’s a hero,” Abbett said. “It’s one of those things we won’t get into until later. We gave her medical attention. She is safe now. We want to keep her that way.”

Pascual-Reyes had lived at the home since February, Abbett said. Other people were there when cops arrived, but he did not elaborate, AL.com reported.

“It’s horrendous to have a crime scene of this nature,” the sheriff told reporters Tuesday.

Government Corruption
GOP calls on NY AG James to probe 'Kickback Kathy' amid Hochul pay-to-play claims
[NYPOST] Republicans are calling on state Attorney General Letitia James to investigate alleged pay-to-play schemes involving Gov. Kathy Hochul ahead of the Nov. 8 election.

"Kickback Kathy is the new reigning champion of the Albany cesspool of corruption," State GOP Chair Nick Langworthy said in a statement Tuesday.

"She is brazenly selling lucrative state contracts to her donors and just because it’s likely done with a wink and a nod doesn’t make it any less criminal. She needs to be investigated and thrown out of office by the voters," he alleged of the Democratic governor.

The Hochul campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Calls for an investigation of gubernatorial fundraising follow a growing list of media reports detailing controversial campaign contributions to Hochul ahead of the Nov. 8 election against Republican gubernatorial nominee Rep. Lee Zeldin.

Gunman, girlfriend charged in McDonald's shooting over cold fries: cops
[NYPOST] The man who allegedly shot a McDonald’s worker — leaving him clinging to life — during a heated spat over cold fries has been charged with attempted murder, cops said Wednesday.

Michael Morgan, 20, was taken into custody shortly after the Monday night shooting outside the eatery at 1531 Fulton St. in Bed-Stuy — and was charged late Tuesday with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon, authorities said.

Camellia Dunlap, 18 — identified by police sources as Morgan’s girlfriend — was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, cops said.

Her exact role in the shooting was not immediately known.

The 23-year-old victim was working at the fast-food joint at 1531 Fulton St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 7 p.m. Monday when Morgan’s mother began hassling him over her fries, a high-ranking police source said.

Russian general speaks about the demand of Ukraine to place prisoners in Yelenovka
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[RIA Novosti] Ukraine insisted that its prisoners of war be placed in penal colony No. 120 in Yelenovka in the DPR, which was then attacked by American HIMARS MLRS, said Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin.

"I draw your attention to the analysis of the chronology of events. On May 20, 2022, the surrendered servicemen of the Azov National Regiment were taken to the pre-trial detention center in the village of Yelenovka. The Ukrainian side insisted on this particular place of detention," he said at a briefing for foreign military attaches.

The Deputy Minister recalled that on July 28, 2022, a video confession of Dmitry Kozatsky's crimes by Azov residents appeared. Further, on the night of July 29, HIMARS attacked Yelenovka.

The Kyiv authorities decided to strike at the place of detention of prisoners of war in order to eliminate witnesses of their crimes against their own people, Fomin added.

According to him, now many Ukrainian servicemen voluntarily lay down their arms, knowing about the humane treatment of prisoners of war in the Russian Armed Forces . The provocation in Yelenovka, Fomin noted, is aimed at intimidating the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, "it was an attempt to counter their surrender."

At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities, without providing any evidence, are trying to shift the responsibility for the death of prisoners of war to Russia , he said.

In addition, Fomin indicated the direction of the strike on the pre-trial detention center. The shooting was carried out from the trajectory of Marinka - Kurakhovo - the triangle Sergeevka - Pokrovsk - Lucky, he noted.

The deputy minister also drew attention to the "clumsy" US attempts to justify the Kiev regime. At the same time, when planning a fire engagement, the Ukrainian military is actively using space and aerial reconnaissance data received from the US Armed Forces and its allies, and Washington representatives are preparing tasks for firing, Fomin recalled.

In addition, he especially noted the gratitude of the prisoners of war wounded during the strike to Russian doctors for medical assistance. At the briefing, they also showed a video with testimonies from the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and their appeal to the doctors.

On the night of July 29, Ukrainian troops attacked the pre-trial detention center where prisoners of war were kept, primarily militants of the nationalist Azov regiment*. The building was almost completely destroyed. As a result, 53 people died. Fragments of an American MLRS HIMARS shell were found on the spot.

The Russian defense ministry called the shelling a blatant provocation, committed to intimidate Ukrainian servicemen and prevent their surrender. The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin , in turn, attributed the attack to the fact that the prisoners began to testify.

In mid-May, about two and a half thousand fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and "Azov," blocked at the Mariupol plant "Azovstal", laid down their arms. The wounded were sent to the hospital, some of the prisoners of war have since been in the colony in Yelenovka.

Prisoners of war were tortured in Yelenovka to break, humiliate and use for Russian propaganda, - intelligence

Ukrainian intelligence established some circumstances of the deliberate killing of Ukrainian prisoners of war in the colony in Yelenovka in Donetsk region .

This is stated in the message of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

"Prisoners were interrogated by the so-called MDB DNR investigators together with representatives of the "Wagner" PMC and the FSB of the Russian Federation. During the interrogations, physical torture and beatings were actively used.

Such measures, first of all, were not aimed at obtaining certain confidential information, but at bullying, physical humiliation, psychological demoralization with the aim of breaking the moral and psychological qualities of Ukrainian soldiers," the HUR said.

If the plan was implemented, the Russians planned to use the Ukrainian prisoners for filming in propaganda reports.

"The purpose of the broadcast was to highlight the prisoners' recognition of "crimes committed by them, atrocities against the local population, the fighters' renunciation of their views, as well as condemnation of the actions of the leadership of Ukraine," the intelligence agency noted.

The head office emphasized that although the Russians conducted interrogations on a regular basis, they did not succeed. Ukrainian prisoners of war showed courage and indomitable willpower.

The intelligence added that Russia had no intention of exchanging prisoners of war. In order to hide the improper conditions and forms of interrogation of Ukrainian servicemen, which would become the evidence base at the Hague Court, the enemies deliberately destroyed the prisoners.

According to Ukrainian military intelligence, the fighters of the "Wagner" PVK mined the places of detention of Ukrainian soldiers, using a highly flammable substance, which led to the rapid spread of the fire in the premises.

We will remind, as reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on July 28, the Russian armed forces carried out a targeted artillery shelling of a correctional facility in the temporarily occupied Yelenovka of the Donetsk region , where Ukrainian prisoners of war were also held. This was done in order to accuse Ukraine of committing war crimes and cover up the torture of prisoners

According to the Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, the occupiers are ready to hand over the bodies of the prisoners of war defenders of Mariupol who were killed in Yelenovka. The invaders said they would do it "after the investigation is over."

Judge Strikes Down San Francisco Law Allowing Illegal Aliens to Vote
[BREITBART] A the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, law that allowed illegal aliens and other foreign nationals to vote in some local elections was struck down in court late last week.

On July 29, San Francisco Superior Court Judge Richard Ulmer overturned the city’s ordinance that was first passed in 2016, which allowed foreign nationals — including illegal aliens — to vote in citywide school board elections so long as they are the parent of a school-aged child and are not incarcerated or out on parole.

By 2018, as Breitbart News reported, the city had spent almost $400,000 to register a total of 61 foreign nationals to vote in the school board elections.

Ulmer, though, ruled that the ordinance is in violation of the California Constitution, which specifically states that "a United States citizen 18 years of age and resident in this state may vote."

"In sum, San Francisco ordinance 206-21 is contrary to the California Constitution and state statutes and thus cannot stand," Ulmer wrote,

The ruling is yet another blow to the open borders lobby, which has made noncitizen voting a fixture of their agenda to eliminate the privileges of American citizenship.

In June, the New York Supreme Court similarly struck down a New York City law that allowed foreign nationals to vote in citywide elections so long as they had lived in the city for at least 30 days. In that case, the court found that the state’s constitution is clear that voting "is a right granted to citizens of the United States."

All these situations seem different, although they have one factor in common, namely, the global security architecture has not worked. And this is actually what Ukraine draws attention not only 161 days from the start of a full-scale war, but already for years. Since Russia completely ignored international law, the interests of humanity as such."

But in practice, purely for legal reasons, it cannot apply this article specifically to the case of Ukraine and Russia."

20:32 Kiev will break diplomatic relations with Minsk if Belarusian troops enter Ukraine, Kuleba said in an interview with Ukrinform: "Belarus is an accomplice in the crime of aggression against Ukraine, this is beyond any doubt. Therefore, there are no excuses for them and there will not be."

20:04 Gazprom said that the sanctions of Canada, the EU, the UK and the "inconsistency of the situation with the obligations of Siemens" make it impossible to supply a turbine for Nord Stream.

According to the GUR MOU, interrogations of prisoners were carried out by investigators of the so-called. "MGB DPR" together with representatives of PMC Wagner and the FSB of the Russian Federation. During interrogations, physical torture and beatings were actively used. The purpose of such "interrogations" was not to obtain confidential information, but to mockery, humiliation, demoralization.

If the plan was implemented, the FSB representatives planned to involve Ukrainian prisoners in filming pro-Russian reports, in which they had to admit "the crimes they committed, atrocities against the local population", as well as renounce their views and condemn the actions of the Ukrainian leadership.

Interrogations were carried out in a pipeline on a regular basis, but were not successful. Ukrainian prisoners showed exceptional courage and willpower. The Russian side had no intention of exchanging the prisoners and, in order to hide the improper conditions and forms of interrogation, deliberately destroyed them. 14:00 Zelensky, during a conversation with Australian students, called the difference between the Russian Federation and terrorists: "The only difference between terrorists and Russia is that the former take responsibility for their deeds, while Russia does not have the courage to do this and has the audacity to blame others for their crimes - some countries and the whole world ... And now this world is facing a choice: long overdue, uncomfortable, unpleasant for some, but inevitable for everyone. For many countries, the time has come when their own interests must give way to the interests of the planet. Because otherwise both the former and the latter will be threatened by the actions of a global terrorist."

13:36 Ex-Chancellor of Germany Schroeder said after a meeting with Putin that he is ready for negotiations on Ukraine. In an interview with Stern magazine, Schroeder said that Russia wants to find a diplomatic solution to Ukraine, and the agreement reached in Istanbul on the supply of grain "can continue the way forward."

At the same time, he called Kyiv's statements about the return of Crimea absurd and added that an alternative to NATO membership for Ukraine "may be military neutrality, as in Austria."

13:12 The head of the Kharkiv OVA, Oleg Sinegubov, commented on the reports spread by the occupiers about a possible re-offensive on Kharkiv: “Without success at the front, the occupiers not only spread fakes, but also continue terror against civilians out of impotence. There is information that in the coming days the enemy will intensify missile attacks on the city of Kharkov and districts of the region. Therefore, I ask the residents of the Kharkov region not to neglect the alarm signals, not to be on the street unless absolutely necessary, but to be in shelters during the alarm."

At the same time, Sinegubov assured that the Ukrainian defenders are ready for any actions of the enemy, "hold the defense securely, do not allow the enemy to move forward, although he is trying."

13:07 Russia has no scenarios for the use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine, Alexander Trofimov, a representative of the Russian delegation on the nonproliferation of nuclear weapons, said at the UN. According to him, the Russian doctrine on this issue is "well known and extremely clear." Moscow allows the use of nuclear weapons only in response to a nuclear strike or to aggression using conventional weapons, "when the very existence of Russia is endangered."

13:04 It will take ten years to clear the Ukrainian sea. According to Roman Primush, Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service, Ukraine turned out to be the most mined country in the world. 10:52 Since the start of martial law, 6,400 conscripts have been detained at the border who illegally tried to leave the country, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported. More than 4 thousand of them were detained outside the checkpoints, the rest tried to deceive the border guards at passport control: they disguised themselves as women, hid in cars (even in baby boxes), bought fake documents about their children or illnesses. There was even a man who, according to the entry in the document, was dismissed due to a difficult birth.

10:09 A powerful agency of Ukraine is working in Russia, Vadim Skibitsky, a representative of the GUR MOU, said. According to him, many Ukrainians managed to make a serious career in the public service during the years of their life in the Russian Federation. The environment makes it "very easy" to work with the enemy, spies were introduced back in 2015. Skibitsky noted that it was the agents who informed Kyiv that a full-scale attack on Ukraine was being prepared for February 15, but Putin's decision was postponed to February 24.

09:47 Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov criticized men who want to leave the country during the war: "Go help those guys who are now at the front. There is a lot of work in the country. There is no need to hide behind a woman's skirt and flee the country. We need to help "You can't fight, you can't take up arms - help in another way. Find an opportunity to help."

09:33 Two-thirds of the residents were evacuated from the Donetsk region, now there are about 250 thousand residents left in the region, said the head of the OVA Pavel Kirilenko.

09:16 British intelligence reports that the railway connection between the Kherson region and the Crimea is probably not working after the APU hit the Russian echelon with ammunition. The Russians can repair the railway line within days, but it will remain a vulnerable point for Russian forces and their supply routes from Crimea, analysts say.

Intelligence also writes that the Russians will use the ferry crossing, recently built to replace the damaged Antonovsky Bridge in the suburbs of Kherson, to transfer troops and equipment, despite statements of intention to use it for civilian purposes. Analysts believe that the number of civilians trying to leave Kherson and its environs will increase in the near future, as fighting continues and food shortages worsen. This will put pressure on transport hubs and routes, which will likely lead to the implementation of traffic control measures.

08:57 Ukrainian refugees will be able to return to the EU at any time if they decide to go back to Ukraine, European Commissioner for Internal Affairs Ylva Johansson said during a visit to Kiev. She clarified that when returning home from the EU, Ukrainians must waive the status of temporary protection, but it can be renewed at any time.

08:48 The Pentagon denied Shoigu's statements about the destruction of six HIMARS installations in Ukraine. "We are aware of these latest statements by Minister Shoigu, and they are clearly false again," the acting minister said. Pentagon Representative Todd Bressail.

08:36 As a result of hostilities in Krasnohorivka, Donetsk region, four civilians were killed, seven more people were injured, said the head of the OVA Pavel Kirilenko.

08:09 The Russians attacked the Krivoy Rog district of the Dnipropetrovsk region at night, the head of the OVA, Valentin Reznichenko, said. In particular, the Zelenodolsk and Apostolovsk communities came under fire, people were not injured.

08:03 The Armed Forces of Ukraine forced the Russians to withdraw with losses in the Kharkov, Avdeevsky, Bakhmut directions, and in the Slavyansk direction, the Ukrainian army neutralized the enemy reconnaissance group, the General Staff reports in the morning report .

07:05 The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports that Iran may have sent the first batch of drones to Russia and sent pilots and maintenance personnel to train on the Russian Su-35. Meanwhile, Russian troops were conducting unsuccessful offensive operations to the northeast and northwest of Kharkov. The occupiers also made limited ground attacks northwest of Slavyansk and east of Seversk.

The enemy forces made minor gains southeast of Bakhmut and continued offensive operations northeast and southeast of Bakhmut. Russian troops have been gradually advancing around Avdiivka and continue to attempt to advance southwest of Avdiivka. In addition, they launched two assaults in the north of the Kherson region and continue to redeploy troops to the southern axis.

Russia is forming new "volunteer battalions" in the Novosibirsk, Saratov, Ulyanovsk and Kurgan regions, and is also changing the timing of payment of monetary compensation.

06:23 The Russians attacked Kharkiv at night - one blow fell on the Kholodnogorsky district, the second - on the Novobavarsky district, where an infrastructure facility was damaged. In both cases, there was no fire, there were no casualties, Mayor Igor Terekhov said.

06:14 In Nikolaev around 5:00 powerful explosions have thundered, in one of districts of the city there was a fire, in another - the supermarket is destroyed, mayor Alexander Senkevich reported.

03:10 The Russians began the creation of a strike force in the Krivoy Rog direction, OK Pivden reports. The command also reported that rocket and artillery units of the Ukrainian army hit Chernobaevka, where the occupation troops are based.

00:08 In the occupied Kherson region, they began to accept applications from Ukrainian citizens for obtaining Russian citizenship without a local residence permit. Documents are accepted from residents of all regions of Ukraine on the basis of Putin's decree on simplifying the acquisition of Russian citizenship for Ukrainians, said "deputy head of the VGA" Ekaterina Gubareva.

Serbian List calls the overthrow of the Kosovo government their task
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] On August 3, the Serbian List, a political organization of Kosovo Serbs, announced that they had set themselves the task of overthrowing the government of Albin Kurti in Kosovo.

According to the Albanian news agency Telegrafi, the party has said that this government is working against the interests of the Serbian people.

The "Serbian List" emphasized that they do not cooperate with Kurti, since he interferes with the establishment of peace.

“[Kosovo’s] Minister of the Interior Celal ] Svechla cannot accept the fact that the Serbs in northern Kosovo are more united than ever and are surviving and standing up against his threats and trusting in the leadership of the Serbian List.

It should be noted that Kurti's government was the first to not accept the "Serbian list" into the ruling coalition.

Journalists in D.C. taking psychedelic mushrooms for startling reason
By Laurel Duggan
Daily Caller News Foundation

[WND] Many journalists in Washington, D.C. are taking small doses of psychedelic mushrooms to improve their performance, according to Politico.

A 2020 D.C. ballot initiative made enforcement of bans on the purchase and distribution of psychedelic mushrooms the lowest priority of law enforcement, making the substance “basically legal,” according to Politico. The substance is used recreationally in full doses as well as in smaller "microdoses," which some believe can improve brain function.

"Microdosing mushrooms as a kind of performance-enhancing brain boost — already wildly popular among the California tech set — is now fairly common in Washington, especially in media circles," the Politico article said.

Additionally, many journalists are "macrodosing," or taking large quantities of mushrooms to experience a psychedelic trip, as well.

Some journalists questioned the author’s claim that microdosing was common is Washington media circles.

#5  I despise the motives behind this. Orwellian erasure of our history is essential to its deconstruction to create the basis for revolutionary thought. They have to make American exceptionalism and prosperity brought on by capitalism and a vast middle class into a hate filled lie to justify the globalist future they are selling.

Honoring Confederate Generals was an act of reconciliation and recognition of resumed brotherhood. History of shared national comity, with all the sad exceptions along the way, doesn't fit the "white supremacy and racism" needed to fuel the useful idiot minds for the coming revolution.

"Who controls the past, controls the future: who controls the present, controls the past… The mutability of the past is the central tenet of Ingsoc. Past events, it is argued, have no objective existence, but survive only in written records and in human memories. The past is whatever the records and the memories agree upon. And since the Party is in full control of all records, and in equally full control of the minds of its members, it follows that the past is whatever the Party chooses to make it."

The 29th Infantry Division is also featured in numerous video games related to World War II. The division's advance through Normandy and Europe is featured in the games Close Combat, Company of Heroes and Call of Duty 3, in which the player assumes the role of a soldier of the division.[64]

I have bad news for those who enjoy the post about the traitor in Peski
Direct Translation via Google Translate.

Commentary by Ukrainian writer Roman Donik

[SiteUA] I have bad news for those who enjoy the post about the traitor in the Sands and suck it up. Welcome to reality. Maybe, finally, something will switch in your stupid heads and you will understand what is going on around you now. That every settlement we left we defended with the same effort. Every kilometer of the front, in 99 cases out of 100, was left just like that. And what was even worse.

Now with artillery is much better due to NATO calibers. It's just that when you scream that the enemy is still advancing, that there is still a threat of losing the state, then all of them are some kind of bullshit and scarecrows, and let's go around the political bullshit.

Once again for the particularly gifted. We have a full-scale war, which has not happened since World War II. We have problems with BC for artillery, and the fucking barrels of Soviet calibers. And there is nowhere to take it. The Russians have an advantage in artillery. In order to have an advantage in offensive artillery, we need more guns than all European NATO member countries have.

At our front, the M-777 155mm field gun is a priority target for the enemy. They are being hunted. If after a volley they find shells flying, then in two minutes a cluster package of BM-27 Uragan MRL flies there. Whole divisions of BM-27 Uragan MRL are hunting.

We have success in some areas, but it is all very unstable. Because this is due to the fact that the enemy transfers forces to other locations. Understand it all. We hit warehouses, not because we are such humanists. And because it is the only way to reduce pressure on the front line. Every day is a superhuman effort with losses at the front. What is wrong with you that you don't want to understand the obvious? The tape is like a solid obituary. Half of the contacts in the phone will never answer. Did you just wake up because of a post on Facebook?

Yes, there is cautious optimism that we have stopped the rapid advance, but we have to prepare day and night. Nothing has been decided yet. The existence of Ukraine is still under threat. And if someone thinks that this applies only to Donetsk, Luhansk, and perhaps partially Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions, I have some bad news - they will not stop. If we don't stop them. They still have resources. And there are enough camps in Siberia for everyone.

Pelosi Leaves Taiwan; PRC Uptempos Military Ops
TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) — After a trip that drew China’s wrath, a defiant Nancy Pelosi concluded her visit to Taiwan on Wednesday with a pledge that the American commitment to democracy on the self-governing island and elsewhere "remains ironclad."

Pelosi received a euphoric welcome as the first U.S. House speaker to visit in more than 25 years, and China swiftly responded by announcing multiple military exercises nearby.

The speaker’s departure for South Korea came just a day before China was scheduled to launch its largest maneuvers aimed at Taiwan in more than a quarter of a century.

Before leaving, a calm but resolute Pelosi repeated previous remarks about the world facing "a choice between democracy and autocracy."

"America’s determination to preserve democracy, here in Taiwan and around the world, remains ironclad," she said in a short speech during a meeting with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Russia's new Naval Doctrine: what's new in it besides frankness?
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Alesandr Saveliev

[REGNUM] A new Naval Doctrine has appeared in Russia. It was approved by a decree of the President of Russia V. V. Putin on July 31, the day of the Navy. The multi-page document, in full accordance with the title, is strategic, at the same time complex and specific. The absence of the usual vagueness, a clear prioritization and frankness in identifying problem areas favorably distinguish the new Naval Doctrine from many other documents.

The previous one was adopted in 2015. Seven years is not long enough to radically change strategic priorities, so the new doctrine is largely clarifying and concretizing.

First of all, much more attention is paid to security issues, taking into account the long-term nature of the confrontation between the Russian Federation and NATO led by the United States in the context of their actively waged hybrid war to destroy Russia. Chapter 2 of the document "National Interests, Challenges and Threats to the National Security of the Russian Federation in the World Ocean" is devoted to these issues. Chapter 1 contains general provisions and definitions - the very logic of building the Naval Doctrine speaks of the highest priority of security issues for Russia.

Ensuring maritime security is interpreted broadly: not only as the protection of maritime borders, but also as a presence in the oceans, the protection of key routes and communications, including underwater ones (pipelines and cables).

The reference to "the lack of a sufficient number of bases outside the Russian Federation to provide ships and vessels of the Navy performing tasks in remote areas of the World Ocean" indicates Russia's intention to develop a network of naval bases to ensure its national interests in those regions which she considers to be her priority.

The issue of shipbuilding and shipbuilding is still acute, both for the Navy and for increasing the capabilities of the merchant fleet. The doctrine emphasizes the need to achieve technological self-sufficiency in the industry, maximize the utilization of domestic production capacities and localize the industry in Russia.

Import substitution in technology is one of the most painful issues in the Russian economy, including in the military-industrial complex. If it is not resolved in the coming years, Russia may forever lag behind competitors in the transition to a new technological order, which will inevitably affect not only the civilian sector of the economy, but also the country's defense capability.

The issue of the need for an integrated approach to the port economy was pointed out. The access roads, the actual transshipment (loading and unloading) capacities of the port and the tonnage of the fleet should correspond to the cargo turnover predicted for the medium term. Otherwise, bottlenecks will have to be constantly “opened up” when ships and railway cars stand idle for weeks waiting for their turn to be processed at the port. This is a well-known and long-standing problem, the solution of which requires the coordination of relevant departments and companies using port facilities.

Russia's priorities in the World Ocean have been revised in the new Naval Doctrine of Russia. The Baltic direction gave way to the first place in the Arctic. This is apparently caused by the ongoing melting of the ice, which expands the possibilities of navigation. As a result, the Arctic coast of Russia is gradually becoming one of its most important borders - the length of the Northern Sea Corridor (Northern Sea Route - NSR) alone is 5600 kilometers.

The Arctic shelf is still little explored, but already known geological exploration data indicate significant deposits of minerals. In addition, the NSR is the shortest route from China and other Far Eastern countries to Europe; this factor makes Arctic transit competitive even if ice assistance is required. For control over the minerals of the Arctic shelf and transit routes, a serious struggle flares up between Russia on the one hand and the United States, Canada and their allies from Northern Europe on the other.

In the new Maritime Doctrine, the NSR is called the national transport artery of Russia, that is, the sovereignty of the Russian Federation over territorial waters and the Northern Sea Corridor is emphasized.

The Baltic direction is not indicated in the new Naval Doctrine, now it is referred to the Atlantic direction, which obviously reflects Russia's growing ambitions for presence in the World Ocean. The Atlantic direction is listed third in the new doctrine, followed by the Pacific direction. The growing geopolitical tension in the region and the need for intensive development of the Russian Far East make the Pacific area one of the key ones in Russia's strategic plans.

The new Naval Doctrine emphasizes the importance of the Caspian Sea. Five states are located along the coast of this relatively small and closed sea, four of which are former republics of the USSR. Rich in natural resources and fragile in terms of ecology, the Caspian Sea is becoming increasingly important as a crossroads of international transport corridors East-West and North-South. Despite its small size, the Caspian Sea is listed fourth in the list of priorities in the Naval Doctrine.

The Indian Ocean direction became the fifth most important. At the same time, the doctrine speaks of the need to create bases for the Navy in the Persian Gulf and other Indian Ocean regions. Russia intends to project naval power into one of the most geopolitically complex regions of the world.

The new Naval Doctrine of the Russian Federation is very ambitious. At the same time, it speaks quite frankly about existing problems and bottlenecks. Now it's up to the performers and coordinators of the tasks. Whether Russia will become a truly great maritime power or trail behind the United States and China depends primarily on the organizers of the work.

AIPAC-backed Stevens ousts Levin in Michigan race seen as bellwether on US-Israel politics after supporters post/remove anti-Zionist TikTok video; poll: 2/3rds of Dems, 91% of Repubs don’t support BDS
[IsraelTimes] Michigan progressive Levin notes opponent spent 5 times more than his campaign due to ’outside money,’ alluding to pro-Israel lobby, but pledges to support Stevens in November vote

A Jewish political dynasty’s four-decade run in Congress has come to an end after Rep. Andy Levin conceded to Rep. Haley Stevens in Michigan’s 11th congressional district Tuesday.

Stevens’ decisive win concluded a bank-busting primary that attracted more than $4 million in pro-Israel outside spending to a face-off between two incumbents in the bankrupt, increasingly impoverished, reliably Democrat, Detroit
... ruled by Democrats since 1962. A city whose Golden Age included the Purple Gang...
suburbs.

"She ran a strong campaign," Levin told his supporters. "My hat’s off to her." He pledged to support Stevens in the general election.

In his concession speech, Levin did not mention the role that spending by the political action committee founded this year by AIPAC, the pro-Israel lobby, played in his loss. But he did mention that Stevens’ supporters outspent his own by a factor of five to one, thanks to "outside money."

Stevens drew significant support from a PAC founded to support women candidates and was seen as favored from the beginning because of the new district’s map. But with nearly half of the outside spending coming from AIPAC’s PAC, United Democracy Project, the race also emerged as a battleground over US-Israel politics — made more poignant as AIPAC backed the non-Jewish candidate over the Jewish one.

In addition to ending a Michigan Jewish political dynasty that has lasted since Levin’s uncle Carl was elected to the Senate in 1979, Levin’s loss means the wing of the Democratic party that is most critical of Israel is losing its most outspoken Jewish ally in the House of Representatives.

"Especially for young Jews, Andy was our candidate," Levi Teitel, a local organizer with the Jewish pro-Paleostinian group IfNotNow, told JTA. "He championed the issues we care about: climate justice, the need to forge peace between Israelis and Paleostinians."

For AIPAC, that result is something to celebrate. Despite drawing criticism for its spending in this year’s primaries, the first time the pro-Israel lobby has supported candidates directly, AIPAC has unapologetically stood behind the candidates it believes to be most beneficial to the US-Israel relationship — even, as in Michigan’s 11th District when it means opposing a Jewish incumbent.

Levin, who was backed by J Street, the liberal pro-Israel lobby, is vocally critical of Israel and authored a "Two-State Solution Act" this session that would restrict how Israel could use US aid, has been in AIPAC’s crosshairs. AIPAC’s former director David Victor, a Detroit resident, called Levin "arguably the most corrosive member of Congress to the US-Israel relationship." He also said in a letter to prospective donors in January that "less engaged fellow wardheelers may take [Levin] at his word" on Israel because of his Jewish credentials.

In the waning days of his campaign, rather than try to win over the voters that AIPAC had sought to mobilize, Levin instead drew attention to his Israel politics. He held a rally with Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders
...The only first openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords. He ran for the 2016 nomination for president, to be cheated out of it by Hillary Clinton, then went back to being an Independent socialist, waiting for 2020 to roll around...
and Representative Rashida Tlaib and did a virtual event with Peter Beinart of Jewish Currents, three figures who are critical of Israel and its treatment of the Paleostinians and largely despised by the hardline pro-Israel crowd.

"I’m really Jewish," Levin said on MSNBC last week. "But AIPAC can’t stand the idea that I am the clearest strongest Jewish voice in Congress standing for a simple proposition: that there’s no way to have a secure democratic homeland for the Jewish people unless we achieve the political and human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
for the Paleostinian people."

On Tuesday night at the Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac, volunteers and young campaign staffers wearing "Jews For Levin" shirts commiserated with Levin supporters of a variety of races and ages. Outside, the rock band Coheed and Cambria was playing a loud gig to a parking lot full of headbangers.

Though Levin was fighting a variety of uphill factors in the race, including a redrawn district that covered much of Stevens’ territory, his Jewish supporters laid the blame for his loss squarely on AIPAC’s spending.

"Andy is actually very close to the center of gravity of the American Jewish community," Eva Borgwardt, a Levin volunteer who drove from her parents’ home in Missouri to knock on doors for the campaign and who had written invective against AIPAC in red ink on her arm, told JTA.
Not really, no. But it’s very human to define where one stands as the center, especially for those driven by feelings instead of actual facts.
"This is an attempt from AIPAC to send a very clear message that if you are an American Jew for Paleostinian rights, we will destroy you."
Nah, they aren’t prejudiced. If you are a non-Jewish American politician who occupies the same anti-Israel territory, they’ll express their opinions on the subject by supporting your pro-Israel opponent, regardless of your or their faith/race/ethnicity.
Matt Nosanchuk, the president and executive director of the progressive Jewish group New York Jewish Agenda, is Levin’s brother-in-law and flew into Michigan to campaign for him.

"Ultimately AIPAC may enjoy a victory in the short term, but I think they need to think hard about the political space they’re shutting down through their efforts and their money," Nosanchuk said.
Oh. So it’s perfectly ok for you to push your agenda, but not for AIPAC to do the same — because Israel is icky. Gotcha.
For its part, AIPAC was eager to claim victory Tuesday night, tweeting that Stevens was "the 10th AIPAC-backed Democrat to defeat a challenger who sought to undermine America’s partnership with our ally Israel." (So far this year, one AIPAC-backed candidate has lost).
Making the Democrats more sensible, on candidate at a time.
The group added, "Being pro-Israel is both good policy and good politics!"

AIPAC also poured more than $4 million into a different Michigan race, in the 13th District, to support Adam Hollier against a billionaire state senator, Shri Thanedar, who funded his own campaign and whom AIPAC considered a threat because he once introduced anti-Israel legislation. That race had not been called Tuesday night.

Michigan Democratic group apologizes for TikTok video attacking ‘Zionists’

[IsraelTmes] Ahead of hotly contested US primary, local partisan group says clip mentioning AIPAC campaign spending and saying ‘Zionists have no place in office’ was ‘completely inappropriate’.

The chair of a county Democratic Party in Michigan apologized after the group made a social media post reading “Zionists have no place in office,” apparently meant to support a member of the US Congress, Rep. Andy Levin, who identifies as a Zionist.
But as we all know, identifying as is not at all the same as being.
Washtenaw County Democratic Party chair Chris Savage issued an apology Saturday for the TikTok post, which was sent Friday by the @WashtenawDems account and referenced the millions of dollars’ worth of pro-Israel money that has flowed into Michigan’s 11th District primary. The race, a redistricting battle between progressive Jewish member Levin and centrist non-Jewish Rep. Haley Stevens, concludes Tuesday.

The party group has since deleted the post, but a screenshot of it was shared on social media by Jordan Acker, a Jewish Democrat who is an elected member of the University of Michigan Board of Regents. It contains the text “Zionists have no place in office” under a headline reading “AIPAC VS ANDY LEVIN” and a hashtag reading “#nastywoman” with a devil-horns emoji.

“Naturally, I was troubled by this,” Levin told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. “I was grateful for the Washtenaw Dems’ swift action and apology.”

The post, which Acker later said was made by a college student, was notable for arriving in the thick of a Democratic primary season that has been largely defined by how thoroughly Israel has taken center stage in even local races. AIPAC has demonstrated a willingness to spend enormous sums of money to back their preferred candidates, who support hardline pro-Israel policies, over more liberal opponents.

Goodbye, Joe Manchin. Your Senate Career Is Over
[FEDERALIST] Joe Manchin, the Democratic U.S. senator from West Virginia, may finally see the writing on the wall and realize his time in politics is coming to an end. Manchin, who held onto his Senate seat by just over 3 percent during his most recent reelection bid, is likely to squander any of the goodwill he has generated among his constituents with his recently declared support for the latest reconciliation bill in the Senate.

After presenting himself as a foil to many of the Biden administration’s leftist legislative goals, Manchin has come to an agreement with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer
...Senator-for-life from New York, renowned for his love of standing in front of cameras and microphones. Schumer has been a professional politician since 1975, when disco was in flower, which is 46.65985 years. Senate minority leader as of 2017...
about dedicating "hundreds of billions" of federal funds to "deficit reduction," raising taxes on American industry, and emboldening green energy
... the attempt to produce energy without using fossil fuel. The preferred methods are solar, wind, geothermal, phlogiston, philosophers' stones, and rattling bears' teeth. The approach with the most promise involves attaching generators to perpetual motion machines, but using Words of Power to summon energy-rich demons may also work. The green in the term refers to the vast number of dollars that have been thrown at the problem since 1973 with indifferent results...
initiatives.

Manchin has insisted that passing the reconciliation bill will bring manufacturing jobs back to the United States, but the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) disagrees. According to NAM, the bill intends to raise $313 billion, nearly half of which will be generated by imposing a 15 percent minimum corporate levy on domestic manufacturers.

This new tax is expected to reduce real GDP by $68.45 billion, eliminate more than 200,000 jobs, and decrease the income of laborers by $17.11 billion.

The bill also, according to Manchin, "addresses our nation’s energy and climate crisis by adopting commonsense solutions through strategic and historic investments that allow us to decarbonize." According to a summary of the bill from Senate Democrats, the bill would "put the U.S. on a path to roughly 40% emissions reduction by 2030, and would represent the single biggest climate investment in U.S. history."

Surveillance footage said to show Iranian agents scouting Israeli targets in Turkey
[IsraelTimes] In video shared by Ottoman Turkish media, suspected Iranian agents seen following and filming potential Israeli targets in airports, shopping centers and hotels across Istanbul

Security footage released by Ottoman Turkish media on Wednesday purported to show how alleged Iranian operatives scouted potential Israeli targets in Istanbul last month, as Iran
...The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both...
attempted to carry out an attack against citizens of the Jewish state.

The footage, reportedly obtained from security sources, showed several men trailing Israeli tourists and filming them. The suspects were captured by cameras following Israelis in airports, shopping centers and hotels.

The footage was obtained after police scanned hundreds of hours of security footage from Istanbul, reports said.

Ottoman Turkish authorities identified several Iranian citizens who had recently entered the country, often with fake passports, and exhibited suspicious activity, like switching vehicles routinely.

"We are talking about an event on a scale we had not seen before," a Ottoman Turkish source told Israel’s Channel 12 on Wednesday.

On June 23, Ottoman Turkish police arrested five Iranian nationals accused of plotting attacks against Israeli targets in Istanbul. The news of the bust came weeks after Israel ordered its citizens in Istanbul to leave immediately, warning of an imminent Iranian attack plot targeting Israelis in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
Among those who were being targeted for kidnapping were a former Israeli diplomat and his wife, Hebrew media reported, citing Ottoman Turkish outlets. The diplomat’s name was not published.

A month later, local reports indicated that Turkey had foiled another Iranian attempt to target Israelis in Istanbul, saying three men were detained. They were caught on July 14 while carrying a rifle, two pistols, silencers and ammunition, reports said. The men reportedly tried to target Israeli tourists staying at a hotel near Istanbul’s Taksim Square, in exchange for $35,000.

The next day, the Ottoman Turkish Sabah daily newspaper published a video showing a man photographing areas inside the hotel.

In this case, four cell members were arrested at the "last minute," the report said.

Texas trial begins for Egyptian-American father accused of killing his daughters
[AlAhram] The trial of Egyptian-American father Yasser Said,
...also in our archives as Yaser Abdel Said and Yaser Said, he was well known to the local police for abusing his daughters...
65, who is accused of fatally shooting his two teenage daughters in New Year's Day in 2008, began on Tuesday in Texas, with the defendant facing a life sentence if convicted.

Amina Said, 18, and Sarah Said, 17, were found dead in a taxi parked near a Dallas-area hotel nearly a week after they and their mother, Said's ex-wife, fled their home in the Dallas suburb of Lewisville to Oklahoma to get away from Said's threats, the prosecutor said Tuesday during his opening statements at the capital murder trial.

The sisters had become "very scared for their lives," and the decision to leave was made after Said "put a gun to Amina's head and threatened to kill her," prosecutor Lauren Black added, reported the AP.

The Egyptian-born cab driver came to the US on a student visa in 1983 and lived with his family just north of Dallas, Texas, and evaded arrest for more than 12 years, according to news agencies.

Said spent six years on the FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list before he was arrested in 2020, nearly 12 years after the accident.

AP reported that Said wrote in a letter to the judge that he was overseeing the case and that he was not happy with his kids’ "dating activity" but denied killing his daughters, while prosecutor Black said that he was "obsessed with possession and control."

"He controlled what they did, who they talked to, who they could be friends with, if they and who they could date," the prosecutor added. "And he controlled everything in his household."

Following his capture, Patricia Owens, mother of the victims and Said’s former wife, said that she does not know the motive behind the murder. "All I can say is there’s going to be justice," Owens said in remarks to The Dallas Morning News.

In a previous statement reported in 2011 by the same outlet, Owens, who divorced Said in 2009, said that she does not know what drove Said to kill.

Owens said her ex-husband was not religious and that Islam does not condone the killing of innocents, however, she said that he was obsessed with his daughters becoming what he considered "too westernized."

Sarah Said had called 911 the night she was killed and told the operator "I'm dying, I'm dying..." A short time later, the authorities received another call from a man reporting two women unconscious in a car in the parking lot of the Omni Mandalay Hotel in Irving, Texas.

With multiple gunshot wounds each, the police found the girls dead inside the taxi that their father had driven for the past 10 days as per the taxi's registered owner.

Defense attorney Joseph Patton said in opening statements that the evidence would not support a conviction, explaining that in moments of extreme trauma like being shot multiple times, people can have hallucinations.

The police were too quick to focus on Said, Patton said, suggesting that anti-Moslem sentiments played into that focus, AP's report noted.

The report also cited an email sent from Amina Said to her Lewisville High School history teacher a few days before the crime. The prosecutor read the email in which Amina stated that she and her sister Sarah did not want to live by their father’s culture and marry men from the Middle East, "especially men we don’t know or love."

"I know that he will search until he finds us, and he will without any drama nor doubt kill us," the email added.

In 2020, the defendant was found hiding in Justin, Texas, barely 30 miles (48 kilometres) from the scene of the murder.

He had reportedly been sheltered by his son Islam Said, and his brother Yassein Said. The pair were arrested and are serving sentences in federal prison.

Said became a permanent American resident after gaining citizenship in 1997.

While I am against Abortion On Demand, I have to consider the long range flip side of this.

Giving the Gov. /Political types the POWER to decide Personal Moral issues every election, is political fertilizer, for greater social problems down the road to happen.

With that said, Kansas already has something on the Legal Books. But it badly needs tweaking, given the advancement in Pregnancy Detection kits in the last 45 years. Now available for under $5 in many a Dollar Stores.

I'd more more accepting of the results had the question been during the general election, and had enough time to make the case instead of only the I-35 media yelling. And it is a constitutional amendment and I"m ok with the process, as it was our state's constitution which kindly instructed the governess to shove her ever loving covid protocols up her cat piss smelling ass.

In the meantime, nothing changes, nobody won.

UN experts, NGOs urge int'l probe into Beirut port blast
[ANNAHAR] United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
experts and top NGOs urged the U.N. Human Rights Council on Wednesday to launch an international investigation into the deadly Beirut port blast, on the eve of its two-year anniversary.

The August 4, 2020 mega-blast killed more than 200 people and destroyed swathes of the Lebanese capital, after a stockpile of haphazardly stored ammonium nitrate fertilizer caught fire at the port.

Relatives of blast victims have pressed for justice and accountability for two years but the local probe has been paused since December due to political pressure.

"This tragedy marked one of the largest non-nuclear blasts in recent memory, yet the world has done nothing to find out why it happened," the six U.N. experts said.

"On the second anniversary of the blast, we are disheartened that people in Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...In 2020 Hezbollah blew up a considerable portion of Beirut and many of its inhabitants when its ammonium nitrate facility exploded. They blamed it on... somebody else. It wasn't them though. Trust them on that. And it ain't never coming to trial...
still await justice, and we call for an international investigation to be initiated without delay."

The blast shocked a population already reeling from an unprecedented economic crisis, and is widely blamed on the negligence and mismanagement of Lebanese authorities.

The lead investigator, Judge Tarek Bitar, who was chasing after some of Lebanon's top brass, has been barred from proceeding after politicians he summoned for questioning filed a series of lawsuits against him.

The victims' families have appealed to the international community to set up an independent investigation under the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

They hope such an inquiry would give them the answers that Lebanese authorities have failed to provide, said the experts, who do not speak for the U.N. but report their findings to it.

The explosion and its aftermath have brought into focus systemic problems of negligent governance and widespread corruption, the experts said.

The next Human Rights Council session starts on September 13.

The Council "should pass a resolution... to create an impartial fact-finding mission into the Beirut port explosion," said 11 local and international NGOs, including Human Rights Watch and Amnesia Amnesty International.

"It is now, more than ever, clear that the domestic investigation cannot deliver justice," the NGOs said in a joint statement.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Clergy, bags of cash set off new sectarian brawl in Lebanon
[ANNAHAR] A Lebanese archbishop who carried more than $460,000 from Israel to Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...The land area formerly occupied by the state of Lebanon, before that Phoenicia...
is at the center of the latest sectarian showdown in crisis-hit Lebanon, and the case could even spill over into presidential politics.

The situation has ramped up discord between two powerful political camps: the Shiite Moslem Hezbollah and the Maronite Church.

The clergyman was briefly detained last month by Lebanese border agents who confiscated 20 suitcases stuffed with cash and medicine, arguing he violated Lebanon's strict laws against normalization with Israel.

Hezbollah's opponents say the Iran-backed group has sway over Lebanese institutions and security agencies, and have used them to target the Maronite Church. The archbishop, Moussa al-Hajj, is a senior member of the Maronite Church, whose patriarch has become increasingly critical of Hezbollah and its growing influence in Lebanon.

Much of the Christian community saw the archbishop's detention as an attack on the church.

In a sermon late last month, Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi denounced the legal proceedings against al-Hajj as a fabrication, arguing that the money was for charity. He demanded that the charges be dropped and that the military judge who presides over the case resign.

Al-Rahi was met with a standing ovation and protesters gathered the following week at his summer residence to rally in support of the church.

Underlying the dispute are decades of hostile relations between Israel and Lebanon. The two countries have formally been at war since Israel's founding in 1948, and Lebanon has tough anti-normalization laws on the books. The border remains closed, though several top Lebanese Christian officials have permission to cross on occasion to visit their flock in Israel, the Paleostinian territories and Jordan.

On July 20, Lebanese border agents held al-Hajj for eight hours after he returned from Israel with 20 suitcases of medicine and cash. al-Hajj said he was delivering money and assistance from Lebanese Christians in northern Israel to their relatives in the cash-strapped country. The agents confiscated the money, the medicine, al-Hajj's cellphone and passport.

Hezbollah officials saw al-Hajj's act as normalization with Israel and accused him of delivering money from Lebanese affiliated with a militia that once fought alongside Israel.

Thousands of Lebanese moved to Israel after it ended an 18-year occupation of parts of southern Lebanon in 2000. Many of those who fled to Israel were linked to the main pro-Israeli militia in the region, the South Lebanon Army, which collapsed after Israeli troops withdrew.

The case could have wider political implications.

The country for months has been without a fully functional government and is expected to hold presidential elections before the end of October.

Under Lebanon's sectarian power-sharing system, its president must always be a Maronite. Incumbent President Michel Aoun
...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
is an ally of Hezbollah, but the Maronite patriarch's increasingly vocal criticism of Hezbollah suggests there is no guarantee the next president will continue an alliance with the group.

Lebanon's parliament once had a clear majority for Hezbollah and its allies but since elections in May it now stands neck and neck with some of its staunchest opponents, most notably the Christian Lebanese Forces
A Christian political party founded by Bashir Gemayel, who was then bumped off when he was elected president of Leb...
party.

Most Christian members of parliament and politicians of other sects who oppose Hezbollah rallied to back the archbishop and the Maronite church.

"We agree with everything they have said, whether it's their calls for removing the judge, or the selectivity in how the archbishop was treated," said Elias Hankash, a Christian politician of the Kataeb Party. "They (Hezbollah officials) shouldn't just take out their anger on a religious official to send their message to the patriarch."

Imad Salamey, a political science professor at the Lebanese American University in Beirut, said much is at stake for Hezbollah.

"We're coming to a presidential election and following that we have to form a new government, and set a government policy to negotiate with the IMF (International Monetary Fund," he said. "I think Hezbollah wants to send all kinds of messages at the moment, and is determined to show it continues to be the major player among all."

Hezbollah's leadership didn't comment. Its leader Sayyed His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...
in a recent interview denied the group's influence in security agencies and the judiciary. "In Lebanon there are laws, and the security agencies take action towards any collaborator or possible collaborator," he said.

The head of Hezbollah's block in parliament Mohammad Raad was more explicit, saying the archbishop's delivery of money and medicine was normalization, which he called a "national betrayal and a crime."

Geagea: We will oppose the election of a March 8 President
[ANNAHAR] Lebanese Forces
A Christian political party founded by Bashir Gemayel, who was then bumped off when he was elected president of Leb...
chief Samir Geagea
...Geagea was imprisoned by the Syrians and their puppets for 11 years in a dungeon in the third basement level of the Lebanese Ministry of Defense. He was released after the Cedar Revolution in 2005...
said Wednesday that the next President should be sovereign and reformist, refusing a President from the March 8 Alliance or a consensual President.

"We will oppose with all our strength the election of a President from the March 8 Alliance," Geagea said in a presser as he accused the so-called Axis of Defiance of being the root cause of the crisis.

He considered that mismanagement, corruption and the dominance of Hezbollah on the country's strategic decisions are the main factors that contributed to the current crisis.

"Hezbollah has allied with the most corrupted parties to secure an internal cover for its illegal presence," Geagea said, slamming both Hezbollah and the Free Patriotic Movement
Despite its name a Christian party allied with Hizbullah, neither free nor particularly patriotic...
.

He added that if a President backed by the Axis of Defiance gets elected, Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...In 2006 unknown persons blew up Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, the car he was traveling in, the road he was traveling on, and a few innocent bystanders of no account whatsoever. The person or persons unknow weren't Hezbollah, you can bet on that. Really. Even though there was an international tribunal that said it was them...
will be isolated and will lose all investments and international and Arab support.

Geagea also refused "a consensual President" that would "extend the hell we are living in to six more years."

He concluded his speech by urging all the opposition MPs to coordinate in order to agree on a President's name.
