Antisemitic Nurse Facing Two Investigations After Refusing to Treat Jews, Calling them ''Vermin,'' ''Rats''
Not just in Australia.
[ToniAiraksinen] “I would refuse to treat you. I’m not a vet. I don’t treat dogs”

The nurse who infamously said she’d refuse to treat Jews and called them "vermin" and "rats" is now under investigation by both the university hospital where she works as a nurse and the Oregon State Board of Nursing.

As I reported last week — Camesha Hart is a nurse at Oregon Health And Science University Hospital (OSHU)— and she was caught writing a number of antisemitic comments on Instagram calling Jews and Israelis "rats" and "vermin".

Camesha also wrote on Instagram that "I would refuse to treat you" to multiple Jews in a comments section.

Further, she also wished death on Israelis, likely due to her infatuation with the idea of "liberating Paleostine."

"May they all [Israelis/Jews] meet their ancestors soon!" she wrote on an Instagram post, under the handle "hartgirl.pdx." Since then, her Instagram account has been shut down, and it appears all her other social media accounts have been wiped.

WHO IS CAMESHA HART ACCOUNTABLE TO?
I spoke to an OHSU professional who was not authorized to speak publicly. She said that the hospital truly cares about Jewish people and that they are investigating Hart. She says hundreds of people have been flooding the hospital with emails expressing their anger, rage and disgust over this incident.

"I am limited in what I can say publicly, but I'm a [redacted] at this hospital [redacted] and trust me — we have rallied any and all resources we can to escalate this, and we have confirmation from the hospital that they are taking this very, very, very seriously.

OHSU replied to my inquiry about Camesha Hart with the following statement.

"Hate speech, harassment, racism and discrimination are wholly unacceptable and have no place at Oregon Health & Science University. We are actively investigating reports of an employee making antisemitic comments on social media through our internal investigatory processes."

Additionally, since Hart’s statements may violate the State Nursing Code or the Florence Nightingale Pledge (similar the Hippocratic Oath, but for nurses), dozens if not hundreds of angry Americans have sent the Oregon Board of Nursing complaints about Hart.

On Wednesday morning, Barbara Holtry of the OSBN said that all investigations are confidential.

"There is no way to predict the length of any investigation or when a case might be brought to the board for action. It all depends on the complexity of a case and how long it may take to gather the necessary information. I can tell you that, in general, investigations may take several months," said Holtry.

Today, someone affiliated with the nursing board said they couldn’t comment publicly. But they did explain that the board is in the process of investigating, which may result in some type of punishment or Hart’s nursing license being revoked.

At this moment, it’s unclear if Camesha Hart is still working at the hospital. Some sources at the hospital say they haven’t seen her show up to work, while others claim she’s been spotted still working since the hospital opened their investigation. Neither Hart nor the hospital have confirmed or denied this.

Camesha Hart is also listed on a "Who’s Who’s" list of nurses at Portland Community College (PCC), where she may teach classes. But PCC spokesperson James Hill said Wednesday afternoon her employment there ended in 2018.

COMMUNITY RESPONSE: PHYSICIANS AGAINST ANTISEMITISM
After Physicians Against Antisemitism (PAA) brought Camesha Hart’s comments to light, Camesha took to GoFundMe to try to raise money for a lawyer.

The total raised stands at 220$ for her legal fund, and in it, Hart asserts that she’s not antisemitic. But oddly enough, after claiming she was not antisemitic, she posted comments illustrating that she said she wouldn’t treat Jews. Whether that was an intentional dog whistle to her friends in Hamas
..always the voice of sweet reason...
, or an accidental faux-pas is unclear.

In broken English, she pleaded to her GoFundMe supporters:

"i am being bullied online by antisemitic groups bc I do not support the GENOCIDE!

Now my nursing job is being threatened by them.

It is also an online smear campaign called DOXXING.

So I am hiring a Torts ATTORNEY to defend myself!

I DO NOT support antisemitism!

I DO support humanity and not killing others, especially families!

Would you PLEASE support me in this activism?

Please help me fight the online bullies!

Thank you so much!"

In an interview with the PAA, their spokesperson speculated that it’s likely that OSHU will fire Hart, but that the nursing board itself wouldn’t eventually revoke her license. Rather, the nursing board would possibly give Hart something like remediation training, such as anti-racism classes or inclusivity training.

Both her employment at OSHU, and her nursing license itself, are at risk.

"The only overlap would be if Hart lost her nursing license, then she would definitely have to stop working as a nurse and lose her job as a result," PAA said.

CAMESHA HART DOUBLES DOWN
After Hart was called out for her antisemitism, she promptly responded on Instagram.

"This is me," she wrote, "showing up for all the Paleostine haters flooding my account. Bring it on [clown emojis]. Because the world sees THE UGLY TRUTH! And no matter what, Paleostine will be free!

Regarding Shiri Bibas — the Jewish mother who was returned in a body bag by Hamas after her two children were killed by Paleostinians — Camesha later claimed that Shiri deserved her death.

"She was fair game as a military personnel (sic). And Hamas let her take her children [Kfir and Ariel, who are dead now] out of pity and kindness. Israel are the ones (sic) who sent this family home in boxes. And they should be thankful they weren’t returned in blue body bags and zip ties!!"

As I understand, chime in, if I am wrong.

The Oregon Health & Science University Hospital (OSHU) answers to OSBN Healthcare system.

So, given the serious unprofessional comments made and posted for worldwide attention. It is clear a violation of the Orgean Nursing Code
has been made and MUST be addressed. see: Oregon Nurse Practice Act, sections 21 to 49.

OSHU must address this violation, even in a cover-up slap on the wrist mode, or otherwise, it could lose its accreditation.

But then again this is a Far Left Liberal Democrat run state.

BTW: The OSBN linked website, does list a Feb. 19th 2025 Board holding an Executive Session for disciplinary proceedings, as authorized by the OSBN code. That disciplinary session is available on Youtube (click meetings tab and dig.) It is 6+hrs long, so I did not waste my time.

IDF demolishes Hebron homes of two terrorists who killed seven in Tel Aviv, last year 181 homes demolished
[IsraelTimes] Ahmed Himouni and Mohammad Mesek used rifle and knife in October attack on and near light rail; 15 were also injured

Military engineers blew up the West Bank homes of two Paleostinian faceless myrmidons who murdered seven people and maimed 15 in Tel Aviv in October, the Israel Defense Forces said Wednesday.

Members of the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit and the Judea Regional Brigade demolished the homes of the two faceless myrmidons during operations in the West Bank city of Hebron overnight and in the morning, the IDF said.

The terrorists, Ahmed Himouni, 25, and Mohammad Mesek, 19, went on a shooting and stabbing spree at a light rail station in the Jaffa area of the city on October 1, just minutes before Iran

launched a massive missile attack on Israel.

On October 1, the two terrorists, one of whom was armed with a rifle and the other with a knife, attacked civilians on the Tel Aviv light rail before getting off and continuing on foot and shooting and stabbing people on Jerusalem Street in the city.

Mesek was rubbed out by a municipal security officer, and Himouni was seriously maimed after being shot by armed civilians.

It was one of the deadliest single attacks in Israel in recent years.

The seven civilians murdered in the attack were Victor Shimshon Green, 33; Revital Bronstein, 24; Shahar Goldman, 30; Inbar Segev Vigder, 33; Nadia Sokolenco, 40; Ilia Nozadze, 42, a Georgian citizen; and Jonas Chrosis, 26, a Greek citizen.

As a matter of policy, Israel demolishes the homes of Paleostinians accused of carrying out deadly terror attacks.

Jerusalem defends the practice of razing the family home of attackers as a deterrent against future assaults. Over the years, a number of Israeli defense officials have questioned the efficacy of the practice, and human rights

Rights group says Israel demolished a record 181 Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem last year

[IsraelTimes] Ir Amim, an Israeli rights group, says Israel demolished a record number of Palestinian homes — 181 — in East Jerusalem last year.

It says that more recently, Israel appears to have dropped a longstanding policy against demolishing homes during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which began this past weekend. It said a residential building and three apartments have been destroyed over the past week.

The Jerusalem municipality did not respond to a request for comment.

Israel captured East Jerusalem, along with the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, in the 1967 Mideast war. It annexed East Jerusalem and views it as part of the undivided capital of Israel.

Israel says the buildings were constructed illegally without planning permission.

Rights groups say discriminatory policies make it nearly impossible for Palestinians to expand or redevelop their neighborhoods in East Jerusalem, forcing many to build without permits. Israel also demolishes the family homes of Palestinians who carry out terror attacks.

Trump tells ‘sick and twisted’ Hamas to free all hostages now ‘or it is over for you’
[IsraelTimes] US President Donald Trump issues a new ultimatum to Hamas to immediately release all remaining hostages or be destroyed.

“‘Shalom Hamas’ means Hello and Goodbye – You can choose,” Trump writes on Truth Social.

“Release all of the Hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you,” he says.

“Only sick and twisted people keep bodies, and you are sick and twisted!”

“I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job, not a single Hamas member will be safe if you don’t do as I say,” he warns.

“I have just met with your former hostages whose lives you have destroyed.”

“This is your last warning! For the leadership, now is the time to leave Gaza, while you still have a chance,” Trump says.

“Also, to the People of Gaza: A beautiful Future awaits, but not if you hold Hostages. If you do, you are DEAD! Make a SMART decision. RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW, OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY LATER.”

US has been talking directly with Hamas for weeks

[IsrealeTimes] The Trump administration is holding direct talks with Hamas aimed at securing the release of American hostages held in Gaza as well as a broader deal to end the war, Axios reports, citing two sources with direct knowledge of those negotiations.

A source familiar with the matter confirmed the report to The Times of Israel.

The secret talks being held by Trump’s hostage envoy Adam Boehler are unprecedented, as the US has never before engaged directly with Hamas, which Washington designated as a terror group in 1997.

The talks have been taking place in Doha in recent weeks, Axios says, adding that no deal has been reached.

In January, senior Hamas official Mousa Abu Marzouq said publicly that the terror group is prepared to open a dialogue with the Trump administration.

While the US consulted with Israel about the possibility of engaging in talks with Hamas, Israel only learned about specific aspects through other channels, Axios says.

There is one remaining American hostage in Gaza who is believed to still be alive, Edan Alexander. Hamas is also holding the bodies of American-Israeli hostages Itay Chen, Gad Haggai, Judi Weinstein and Omer Neutra.

The Trump administration’s Mideast envoy Steve Witkoff was planning to meet with Qatar’s prime minister in Doha Thursday, but has held off on doing due to the lack of progress in the hostage talks more broadly, the source confirmed to The Times of Israel.

Iraq
Iraq says it’s working to find kidnapped Israeli-Russian academic
[IsraelTimes] Following US pressure, Iraqi security official says government is trying ‘discreetly’ to locate Elizabeth Tsurkov, believed to have been held by terrorists since 2023

Iraq’s national security adviser said Wednesday that authorities were actively searching for Elizabeth Tsurkov,
…one of those far left fools who believe their good intentions will protect them when they walk neck-deep in evil, she is believed to be held by Kataeb Hezbollah, though no one ever claimed credit for snatching her. She was in the process of arranging an interview with a Kataeb Hezbollah big turban when she disappeared, just the kind of thing to make a suspicious mind feel suspicious…
an Israeli-Russian academic kidnapped nearly two years ago in Baghdad.

Tsurkov, a doctoral student at Princeton University and fellow at the New Lines Institute for Strategy and Policy, is believed to have been held by Islamist Death Eaters since March 2023.

National Security Adviser Qassem al-Araji told AFP that "Iraqi authorities are working under the prime minister’s direction" to solve the issue.

Israeli authorities have blamed the Iran-backed Iraqi terror group Kataeb Hezbollah, though no group has yet grabbed credit for her disappearance.

"The security services are mobilized to locate her and find the group that kidnapped her," al-Araji said, adding there had been no claims of responsibility for her abduction or demands for her release. "We have to operate discreetly and through intermediates" to locate her, he added.

Al-Araji’s statement comes in the wake of public demands on the matter by US President Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons...
’s hostage envoy Adam Boehler, who warned the Iraqi prime minister in February that the latter would be deemed complicit if Tsurkov was not immediately released.

"Elizabeth Tsurkov is a Princeton student held hostage in Iraq!" Adam Boehler tweeted, adding that Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
i "consistently made false promises to the prior administration about releasing her."

"BUT NOW [US President Donald Trump] IS ON TO YOU!" he added, warning that if Tsurkov "does not come home NOW then [Sudani] is either incapable and should be FIRED or worse COMPLICIT."

Tsurkov, who had likely entered Iraq on her Russian passport, had traveled to the country as part of her doctoral studies after previously traveling to the country and other Arab countries in the region.

In November 2023, Iraqi channel Al Rabiaa TV aired the first hostage video of Tsurkov known to the public since her kidnapping.

In the video, Tsurkov mentioned the war between Israel and Hamas
..the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip, which raged after the Paleostinian terror group launched its October 7, 2023, onslaught.

Authorities responding to 'active shooter situation' at Naval Air Station in Pensacola UPDATE: Never mind — false alarm
[MSN] Military personnel are responding to ''an active shooter situation'' at Corry Station, according to a post on X from Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida.

''NAS Pensacola Navy Security Forces and local law enforcement entities are responding to an active shooter situation March 6 onboard Corry Station,'' the base said in the post.

Photos and video from the scene showed a large law enforcement response.

NAS Pensacola Public Affairs declined to comment when CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
reached them by phone.

A spokesperson for Escambia County Fire Rescue confirmed they are responding to the incident but directed all inquiries to NAS Pensacola.

NAS Pensacola is home to the Navy's Blue Angels, and is located in Escambia County, Florida.

The installation has more than 16,000 military and 7,400 civilian personnel on the base, according to the Department of Defense.

Update at 2:10 p.m ET: Never mind, false alarm. Read the whole thing here as it was liveblogged. But it’s interesting that we’ve had a bunch of false alarms recently about active shooters — there was one at a cheerleading convention a few days ago Something about the zeitgeist is clearly making everyone tense.

ABC News to lay off dozens, merge ''Good Morning America'' and ''GMA3''
[NYPOST] ABC News staffers began packing up their desks Wednesday amid layoffs as the embattled network restructured its programming that include merging ''20/20'' and ''Nightline,'' and consolidating its ''Good Morning America'' productions, The Post has learned.
And the collective IQ rises 3 points...
Parent company Disney reportedly planned to lay off around 200 people from its ABC News Group division as well as its Disney Entertainment Networks unit — a move that constitutes cutting some 6% of the combined staff of the two units.

Almin Karamehmedovic, president of ABC News, circulated a memo to employees on Wednesday morning confirming the changes.

How Eric Adams and Kristi Noem are fighting the good fight on illegal migrants vs. delusional Dems
[NYPOST] ''In America, we uphold the rule of law,'' whined Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) at Mayor Eric Adams
...Hizonner da Mare of Noo Yawk. As a Manchurian candidate, Hizonner was all in favor of law and order and that kind of stuff. Once in office, a bunch of his friends found cushy jobs with the city, the windows kept getting broken, and Soros-funded DA Alvin Bragg remained right where he was. Most people comfort themselves with the thought that he's not Bill di Blasio but that's pretty small comfort with kids who actually go to school getting bumped off while standing in front of them. But he's a Dem, so the rubes will vote for him next election too, so he's what they deserve...
amid Wednesday's House hearing on sanctuary cities — except he was assailing the mayor for upholding the rule of law.

And suggesting that Adams only came to favor deporting violent mostly peaceful criminal illegal migrants colonists to dodge federal corruption charges.

For the record, Eric Adams (unlike too many other New York Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
) has never been pro-violent mostly peaceful criminal, whatever the immigration status.

He's an ex-cop who got elected on a law-and-order platform, for Pete's sake.

It's Connolly & Co. who've spent years nakedly and flagrantly defending the Biden team's disregard for border enforcement, a stance so committed that it extended to waving in obvious gangbangers.

And the folks who obviously tried to muscle the mayor were the Biden officials who launched the feds' investigation and prosecution of Adams after he broke with the Democratic ''nothing to see anywhere'' line on the migrant crisis.

#4  Many moons ago, I worked (in a very low-level capacity) for an aircraft company That Shall Not Be Named. Many of the guys were Air National Guard, including my boss. The other guys told me a story about the time he bombed a barge.

I googled for this incident, which surely made the paper. It must be the incident described here. Scroll down to "The best story involved Dave."

The way I heard it, though, was that either Dave was not supposed to push the button (but did), or that the button wasn't supposed to be armed (but was). The fuel tank didn't just "break loose".

They did NOT tell me the sequel, about the hijacking and the Cadillac.

Trump orders DC Mayor Muriel Bowser to clean up homeless encampments
Shame her into doing her job. A big piece of mayoring is making sure the streets are safe and drivable.
[NYPOST] President Trump demanded Wednesday that Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser clear out the ''unsightly'' homeless encampments throughout the nation's capital — including near the Executive Residence — or his administration would be ''forced to do it for her.''

''We have notified the Mayor of Washington, D.C., that she must clean up all of the unsightly homeless encampments in the City, specifically including the ones outside of the State Department, and near the White House,'' Trump wrote on Truth Social.

''If she is not capable of doing so, we will be forced to do it for her! Washington, D.C. must become CLEAN and SAFE!''

''We want to be proud of our Great Capital again,'' he continued.

''Thank you Mayor Bowser for your efforts on behalf of the Citizens of our Country. Hopefully you will be successful!''

House Speaker Mike Johnson's chief of staff arrested for DUI after Trump's speech to Congress
[NYPOST] Capitol Police arrested House Speaker Mike Johnson's chief of staff Tuesday night for allegedly driving under the influence.

Hayden Haynes, who has worked with the Louisiana Republican for nearly a decade, was taken into custody about 45 minutes after President Trump's speech to a joint session of Congress.

''A driver backed into a parked vehicle last night around 11:40 p.m. We responded and arrested them for DUI,'' Capitol Police said in a statement.

The law enforcement agency confirmed that it was Haynes who was arrested.

A spokesman for Johnson indicated that the House speaker, who sat directly behind Trump during last night’s speech, has “confidence” in Haynes despite the incident.

“The Speaker is aware of the encounter that occurred last night involving his Chief of Staff and the Capitol Police,” Taylor Haulsee said in a statement.

“The Speaker has known and worked closely with Hayden for nearly a decade and trusted him to serve as his Chief of Staff for his entire tenure in Congress,” the Johnson staffer added. “Because of this and Hayden’s esteemed reputation among Members and staff alike, the Speaker has full faith and confidence in Hayden’s ability to lead the Speaker’s office.”

Volleyball star hurt by trans opponent say Dems are ''failing women''
[NYPOST] The North Carolina volleyball star who suffered life-changing injuries at the hands of a trans opponent called it an ''incredible honor'' to be recognized by President Trump Tuesday night — as she ripped hypocritical Democrats for ''failing women.''

Trump talked tough about biological males competing in women's sports during his barn-burning joint session of Congress, singling out Payton McNabb, who suffered a concussion and neck injury during a game in 2022, when a trans player spiked the ball to her head.

''When her girls' volleyball match was invaded by a male, he smashed the ball so hard in Peyton's face, causing a traumatic brain injury, partially paralyzing her right side and ending her athletic career,'' Trump said after introducing McNabb in the audience, whom he personally invited to attend.

McNabb told The Post she was ''overwhelmed with emotions'' to have the president highlight her story in such a public way.

''What an incredible honor. I was just so honored to even be there as a guest of the president and first lady, that's just unreal — such a surreal moment I'll never forget,'' said McNabb, 19, she still suffers cognitive issues and persistent headaches even two years after her injury.

The Democrats — who used the joint session as an opportunity to grandstand, including one rep who was escorted out — gave an icy reception to McNabb, sitting stoically in their seats while Republicans and those in the galley cheered.

Judge Blocks NYC's Bid to Recover $80.5 Million in FEMA Grant
[Epoch Times] A federal judge on March 5 rejected a bid by New York City to force the Trump administration to immediately return its $80.5 million in grants, which were intended to fund portions of the city’s expenses for housing illegal immigrants. In her ruling, U.S. District Judge Jennifer Rearden said the city failed to prove irreparable harm and could still recover the money if it succeeds in the lawsuit.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced on Feb. 12 that she had pulled the FEMA funds, which had gone towards housing illegal immigrants in New York City hotels. "FEMA was funding the Roosevelt Hotel that serves as a Tren de Aragua base of operations and was used to house Laken Riley’s killer," she wrote in a post on the social platform X.

Barnard College bomb threat prompts evacuation as anti-Israel protesters occupy campus building
[NYPOST] A fake bomb threat prompted an evacuation at Barnard College Wednesday evening as anti-Israel protesters occupied a campus building for a second consecutive week.

More than 50 NYPD officers in riot gear descended to the scene, ordering the more than 200 unruly keffiyeh-shrouded students to exit the Milstein Center and clear out at least 1,000 feet from the courtyard.

As cops struggled to remove protesters from the campus grounds, Columbia students joined in the fracas from across the street, chanting in solidarity with the Barnard students, “NYPD, KKK, they are all the same.”

Police eventually cleared the courtyard, but the students milled about on the lawn outside the building chanting, “no justice, no peace.”

After ignoring several orders to move a safe distance from the building, cops arrested at least nine people and took them into custody, sources said.

The NYPD announced shortly before 8 p.m. that the bomb threat was “investigated and cleared.”

The protesters had taken over the building, which serves as the academic hub of the elite private school, hanging an Old West-style “Wanted” poster and an effigy of school administrators in a startling escalation of their rhetoric.

Moments before the bomb threat was called in, the mob had been engaging in a raucous protest over two students who were expelled last month for barging into a class on modern Israel and tossing antisemitic flyers around the room.

An official department X account warned that “anyone who refuses to leave the location is subject to arrest.”

As the students barged into the building, they hung a large poster featuring Dean of Students Leslie Grinage on one of the building’s exterior plate windows, complete with Old West-style type.

“WANTED: Dean of Students Leslie Grinage for the expulsion of pro-Palestinian students. Reward for info leading to a meeting,” the poster read, which included a likeness of the administrator.

On the front door of the building, masked protesters hung a shoddy effigy — which was actually a plush puppet — of Barnard President Laura Rosenbury, who castigated student protesters for refusing to remove their masks in an op-ed in The Chronicle of Higher Education last week.

Video circulating on social media shows Barnard Vice President for Strategic Communications Robin Levine imploring the protesters to evacuate the Milstein Center due to the bomb threat.

“For the safety and security of our community and everyone in the building, you need to leave now,” Levine said. “This is not a joke.”

Before the bomb threat, Barnard sent out an email alerting the school community and denouncing the demonstration.

“Our academic mission is at the heart of what we do, and disruptions to that mission are an affront to the purpose of higher education and cannot be tolerated,” the missive read, in part.

“When masked disruptors first entered Milstein, classes were taking place, facilities were cleaning classrooms, and dining staff were preparing meals. We must not allow the actions of a few interfere with our mission. Campus activities outside of Milstein and throughout the rest of the campus are proceeding as normal.”

The school did not respond to follow-up questions about the bomb threat.

Last Wednesday, several dozen protesters stormed the campus’ Milbank Hall for several hours, egged on by pro-Hamas group Columbia Students for Justice in Palestine.

They demanded the expelled students be reinstated as well as amnesty for any protesters who were arrested for their actions during previous campus demonstrations.

A school security officer was injured in last week’s occupation, sending him to the hospital complaining of chest pains.
The Times of Israel has more about the pre-bomb protest action. This wasn’t just a bunch of students acting up for the fun of it, but a serious flex by dedicated Iranian proxies:
A group of protesters, most of whose faces were covered by keffiyehs and masks, entered Barnard’s Milstein Library, where they chanted anti-Israel slogans, waved Palestinian flags, beat a drum and carried an effigy of the college president.

Barnard is an affiliate of Columbia University and the protest groups include students from both institutions.

Jewish students at the scene shared photos showing the protesters distributed pamphlets by the “Hamas media office,” photos of the late Hezbollah terror chief Hassan Nasrallah, and wrote “Death to America” in the library guest book. Activists posted stickers around the protest that had the image of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, a mastermind of the October 7, 2023, attack who was killed in Gaza by Israeli forces last year.

Barnard administrators handed out letters saying the disruption and library blockage was an “unauthorized activity” and that the protesters had refused to disperse, despite multiple warnings. The letter warned the protesters that campus security would “review your identification and escort you off of the Barnard campus.”
A very weak response, guaranteed to be ineffective.
Several hours into the protest, the NYPD said it was responding to a bomb threat at the location and that anyone who refused to leave was subject to arrest. The students refused to leave, saying they did not believe the bomb threat was real. Footage showed some protesters scuffling with police, shouting at officers and being detained. The NYPD did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Columbia said in a statement that Barnard is a separate institution, although it is affiliated, and called the disruption “not acceptable conduct.”
Golly.
The protest came a day after the Trump administration threatened to cut off more than $50 million in contracts with Columbia, and said it was reviewing more than $5 billion in federal grant commitments to the university, due to antisemitism.

The House Committee on Education and the Workforce, which has grilled universities over antisemitism since October 7, called the protest “shameful.”

In another warning, Trump said Tuesday that he will cut federal funding to any educational institution “that allows illegal protests,” in a post on his Truth Social platform.

Economy
Tariffs Are Wealth Destroyers
[Mises] On January 31, 2025, US President Donald Trump announced that he would impose a 25 percent tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico (except for Canadian crude oil and energy imports, which will be subject to a 10 percent tariff) and a 10 percent tariff on imports from China. Tariffs are taxes on things that Americans buy from producers in other countries.
OR, they are negotiation weapons in getting other countries to drop their tariffs and policies that hurt American trade
One would have thought that out of all people, President Trump—who prides himself on placing America first—would never consider imposing tariffs. After all, a tariff on any imported good implies curtailing the supply of less costly goods and encouraging the supply in a domestic market of more costly, domestically-produced goods (i.e., punishing the domestic consumers: the Americans). In his Economics in One Lesson, Henry Hazlitt quotes Adam Smith,

It is the maxim of every prudent master of a family, never to attempt to make at home what it will cost him more to make than to buy. The tailor does not attempt to make his own shoes, but buys them of the shoemaker. The shoemaker does not attempt to make his own clothes, but employs a tailor. The farmer attempts to make neither the one nor the other, but employs those different artificers. All of them find it their interest to employ their whole industry in a way in which they have some advantage over their neighbors, and to purchase with a part of its produce, or what is the same thing, with the price of a part of it, whatever else they have occasion for. What is prudence in the conduct of every private family can scarce be folly in that of a great kingdom...

Given that President Trump considers himself as a successful businessman, he surely must be well aware that the ultimate goal of every business is to make profit. Hence, to succeed in this task as a businessman, Donald Trump will not allow activities that would undermine the net worth of his company. Yet the President is of the view that this is acceptable for the economy as a whole.

If policies such tariffs weaken the process of wealth formation and undermine individual well-being, obviously this is bad news for the economy as a whole, which President Trump holds as number one on his priority list. President Trump is of the view that, through tariffs, he can make the US economy prosperous...

CONCLUSION
The imposition of tariffs is going to hurt the American consumers. This will stifle trade between the US and the rest of the world. It will undermine the process of wealth generation. According to Mark Hendrickson--Trump's First Big Economic Mistake:

In 1850, Frederic Bastiat wrote in his classic essay, "The Law," that tariffs are a step toward socialism. In his words, "protectionism, socialism, and communism are basically the same plant in three different stages of its growth." All three call for government to intervene in the marketplace to influence who gains and who loses.

Low or no tariffs which exports labor to other countries and fund a large government bureaucracy for a large unemployed population paid by higher taxes

#1  Scanning the horizon Dellinger drops his case against the administration:BY ALANNA DURKIN RICHER
Updated 12:25 PM EST, March 6, 2025
Share
WASHINGTON (AP) — The fired head of a federal watchdog agency said Thursday that he’s abandoning his legal battle against the Trump administration to get his job back, acknowledging he was likely facing a tough road before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Hampton Dellinger said he was dropping his case a day after the federal appeals court in Washington sided with the Trump administration in removing him as the head of the Office of Special Counsel, an independent agency dedicated to guarding the federal workforce from illegal personnel actions.
Dellinger’s removal could threaten efforts his office has made in recent days to challenge the Trump administration’s firing of thousands of probationary workers. It was not immediately clear who would replace Dellinger as special counsel.
“My fight to stay on the job was not for me, but rather for the ideal that OSC should be as Congress intended: an independent watchdog and a safe, trustworthy place for whistleblowers to report wrongdoing and be protected from retaliation,” Dellinger said in a statement.

As the EUnics prove they are going more insane then the Democrats

… for European counties to increase their defense spending and posture, stating that Europe must be prepared to go alone in the defense of Ukraine and the rest of the continent against Russia,

“I want to believe that the U.S. will stand by our side, but we have to be ready for that not to be the case.”

Macron also announced the start of discussions on France extending the protection of its nuclear arsenal to other countries, stating, “Our nuclear deterrent protects us: it's complete, sovereign, French through and through — I have decided to open the strategic debate on the protection of our allies on the European continent through our deterrence,” with this following calls from soon-to-be German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, for both France and Britain to begin expanding their nuclear arsenals for the defense of Europe.

President Macron has called for a meeting of European Defense Ministers and Chiefs next week in Paris, where the topics of nuclear deterrence and European rearmament can be discussed, as well as the possibility of deploying a peacekeeping force to Ukraine to enforce a ceasefire with Russia.

Finally, Macron ended the speech by calling for unity amongst the French people, stating, “The French nation needs you. Political decisions, military equipment, that is just one part of the puzzle. But it will never come without solidarity. Our generation will not be able to just live off the dividends of peace. It is up to us to sow the seeds for the future.”

Plus France already has an established nuclear weapons infrastructure that would have to be expanded, not developed.from scratch.

This deterrent would buy us time to assess and adjust conventional defense.

RUMINT? Trump to tear down America's education system in just hours with bombshell executive order targeting the DOE
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Donald Trump could make a drastic move to reshape American classrooms within the next 24 hours by shuttering the Department of Education.

The president is expected to sign an executive order as soon as Thursday which would bring about abolishing the federal agency, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Education Secretary Linda McMahon will be tasked with taking 'all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Education Department,' the publication reported, citing a draft of the order.

This will be done to 'the maximum extent appropriate and permitted by law.'

According to the publication, the draft order reads: 'The experiment of controlling American education through Federal programs and dollars - and the unaccountable bureaucrats those programs and dollars support - has failed our children, our teachers, and our families.'

McMahon on Monday was confirmed to lead the doomed 4,200-person federal agency.

She sent a company-wide email to staff on Monday in which she lauded her mission to dismantle the agency, describing it as a 'momentous final mission.'

She said she had been 'tasked... with accomplishing the elimination of the bureaucratic bloat here at the Education Department - a momentous final mission - quickly and responsibly.'

'I want Linda to put herself out of a job,' Trump said of McMahon in February.

Established by President Jimmy Carter in 1980, the department provides essential funding to children with disability and low-income students around the country.

National Education Association President Becky Pringle said last month that cutting the department would ‘steal resources for our most vulnerable students, explode class sizes, cut job training programs, make higher education more expensive and out of reach for middle class families, take away special education services for students with disabilities, and gut student civil rights protections.’

The Department of Education has been low hanging fruit for Trump and Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative.

Already DOGE has celebrated cutting billions of dollars from the agency, over half a billion of which came from canceling DEI grants.

And last month, Trump said the Education Department was 'a big con job' and that 'I'd like to close it immediately.'

During her confirmation hearing in February, McMahon lauded the work of the Musk-led group.

'So DOGE, there are a couple of implants at the Department of Education as there are with agencies throughout the district,' McMahon said. 'They're doing an audit.'

During the session she claimed the department was guilty of 'excessive consolidation of power,' and called for 'education freedom, not government-run systems.'

132 Afghan refugees transferred from Pakistan to Germany
[KhaamaPress] Germany has transferred 132 Afghan refugees from Pakistain to the country, according to reports. This marks a significant move in the ongoing refugee crisis and Germany’s role in resettling displaced people.

The flight carrying these refugees landed at Berlin Airport on Wednesday morning, March 5. The refugees included a local German employee and his five family members, alongside others accepted under Germany’s Afghan resettlement programs.

Reports indicate that the remaining individuals were part of different programs run by Germany to assist Afghan refugees. These efforts are part of Germany’s broader humanitarian response to the situation in Afghanistan.

However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
25 individuals were not able to board the flight due to issues with their documentation. This has raised concerns over the thoroughness of the vetting process for refugees entering Germany.

It’s important to note that just last week, another charter flight brought 155 Afghan refugees from Pakistain to Berlin. This is part of an ongoing effort to resettle Afghans displaced by the ongoing conflict and political instability in their country.

In recent developments, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and Christian Social Union (CSU), the leading parties in Germany’s recent elections, have called on the Foreign Ministry to halt further flights of Afghan citizens until a new government is formed.

The ongoing debate over Afghan refugees continues in Germany, with political parties divided over the issue. While there is support for humanitarian efforts, the process of resettling refugees remains a contentious topic, particularly as the political landscape shifts.

NASA's stranded marooned astronauts finally snap as they appear to let slip who's to blame for leaving them there
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] NASA's stranded astronauts have put on a brave face throughout their uncertain nine-month stay on the International Space Station - but that appeared to slip in a recent interview.

Barry Wilmore seemed to suggest he and his crewmate Sunita Williams had been caught up in political games in Washington.

SpaceX Chief Executive Elon Musk, whose spaceflight company was tasked with bringing Williams and Wilmore home later this month, has repeatedly said the Biden administration 'abandoned' them for 'political reasons.'

Musk has also said that former president Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity....
rejected his offer to bring the astronauts home early because it would've made Donald Trump
...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election. Then he beat Kamala while dodging bullets...
and his supporters 'look good.'

During a Tuesday presser, Williams and Wilmore were asked if the Biden administration did in fact decline Musk's offer to bring them home early, to which Wilmore replied that Musk's claim 'is absolutely factual.'

'I can only say that Mr Musk, what he says, is absolutely factual,' Wilmore said, noting he and Williams were not briefed on what happened behind closed doors. So I believe him. I don't know all those details, and I don't think any of us really can give you the answer that maybe that you would be hoping for,' he added.

Boko Haram Attacks Yobe Governor's Hometown, Kills Police Officer's Two Sons, Sets House Ablaze
[SAHARAREPORTERS] Residents of Buni Yadi, the hometown of Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, have expressed fear over the worsening security situation, with the rampaging Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
terrorists.

The Boko Haram bully boyz attacked the home of a police inspector, Malam Jibrin, in Buni Yadi town, Gujba Local Government Area, killing his two sons and setting their corpses and the house on fire, it was learnt.

The attack occurred in the early hours of Monday, around 1am in the Shuwari Baban Layi area of the town.

Jibrin, who serves as the crime officer at the Buni Yadi cop shoppe, managed to escape by scaling the fence of his house, according to Daily Trust.

Enraged by his escape, the Death Eaters turned on his two sons, aged 25 and 27, slaughtered them, and then set their bodies and the house ablaze.

''They arrived around 1am and operated uninterrupted until 1:54am. The situation has caused a lot of panic among residents,'' the source said.

A local vigilante revealed that the attackers are believed to be operating from the Buk and Talala areas, about 30 kilometers east of Buni Yadi.

''As it is now, nobody dares go up to the Damboa axis. Everybody, including the military, is aware of their presence,'' he said.

''It was the same area where they ambushed the military last month and killed an army commandant, along with several soldiers and vigilantes.''

Residents of Buni Yadi, the hometown of Governor Mai Mala Buni, expressed fear over the worsening security situation.

''People can no longer sleep with their eyes closed,'' said Muhammad Garba, a resident. ''With what is happening on the roads and within the town, nowhere is safe.''

Where's Hunter Biden?
[FoxNews] Hunter Biden's financial woes revealed in new motion to drop lawsuit: 'Significant debt'. Legal document says Hunter has experienced 'a significant downturn.’

Hunter Biden's legal team recently filed a motion to drop his lawsuit against the ex-White House aide who published the contents of his infamous laptop, citing financial issues.

The motion, filed in Los Angeles Wednesday, pertains to the former first son's lawsuit against Garrett Ziegler. The court documents, obtained by Fox News, illustrate the financial and personal issues Biden has experienced in the new year, including being a victim of the wildfires in the Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles.

Biden first filed the lawsuit in September 2023 but "does not have the resources to continue to litigate this matter," according to the filing.

"Plaintiff has suffered a significant downturn in his income and has significant debt in the millions of dollars range," the document states.

The house Biden rented in Los Angeles is now "unlivable" according to the filing, which says Biden has "had difficulty" finding both a new home and a new job.

"Moreover, this lack of resources has been exacerbated after the fires in the Pacific Palisades in early January upended Plaintiff’s life by rendering his rental house unlivable for an extended period of time and, like many others in that situation, Plaintiff has had difficulty in finding a new permanent place to live as well as finding it difficult to earn a living," the document states.

"So, Plaintiff must focus his time and resources dealing with his relocation, the damage he has incurred due to the fires, and paying for his family’s living expenses as opposed to this litigation."

In another document filed Wednesday, Biden penned a letter explaining that his income "has decreased significantly" and revealed what he earned for his artwork.

"In the 2 to 3 years prior to December 2023, I sold 27 pieces of art at an average price of $54,481.48, but since then I have only sold 1 piece of art for $36,000," Biden wrote. "Similarly, for my book sales, in the six month period before the statements (April 1, 2023 through September 30, 2023), based on the September 30, 2023 statement, 3,161 copies of my book were sold, but in the six months after the statements, only approximately 1,100 books were sold."

Selling 27 pieces of art for an average price of $54,481.48 means he could have earned nearly $1.5 million on the artwork. The Yale Law School grad also wrote that he expected to land paid speaking engagements and appearances after the success of his book, "but that has not happened," Biden wrote.
Does anyone wonder why? …No, I didn’t either.
"This significant decrease in revenue has also impacted my ability to pay off my significant debt, which as has been reported in the press as being several million dollars. As a result of this, I am not in a position where I can borrow money."

Latest SCOTUS Ruling Leaves Justice Alito ''Stunned''
[TOWNHALL] The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 Wednesday morning to uphold a lower court ruling forcing the Trump administration to reinstate billions of dollars in foreign aid.

The move left Justice Samuel Alito "stunned."

"Does a single district-court judge who likely lacks jurisdiction have the unchecked power to compel the Government of the United States to pay out (and probably lose forever) 2 billion taxpayer dollars? The answer to that question should be an emphatic 'No,' but a majority of this Court apparently thinks otherwise. I am stunned," Alito wrote in the dissent, joined by Justices Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch and Clarence Thomas.

"Today, the Court makes a most unfortunate misstep that rewards an act of judicial hubris and imposes a $2 billion penalty on American taxpayers. The District Court has made plain its frustration with the Government, and respondents raise serious concerns about nonpayment for completed work. But the relief ordered is, quite simply, too extreme a response. A federal court has many tools to address a party's supposed nonfeasance. Self-aggrandizement of its jurisdiction is not one of them. I would chart a different path than the Court does today, so I must respectfully dissent," Alito continued.

Abbas confidant: If Trump advances Gaza ‘expulsion’ plan, PA will cut ties with US
[IsraelTimes] Ahmad Majdalani says Ramallah wants to turn page with Washington after bitter first term, is maintaining contacts because it doesn’t see president’s proposal being implemented

A senior Paleostinian official and confidant to Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....>
says that the PA will cut ties with the US if President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
advances his proposal to take over the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks.
Strip and relocate all of its residents.

In an interview with The Times of Israel from his Ramallah office last week, Paleostine Liberation Organization Executive Council member Ahmed Majdalani said implementation of Trump’s proposal would amount to the "expulsion" of Gaza’s roughly 2 million residents, thereby posing an "existential threat" to the Paleostinian cause.

Pressed repeatedly as to whether such fervent opposition to the proposal meant the PA was prepared to sever ties with Washington again, Majdalani’s response was the same each time: "Of course."

"Why would we have ties if Mr. Trump sticks to this proposal?" he said.

The longtime PA minister clarified that Ramallah is prepared to work with Trump if he abandons the idea. He also pointed to comments from top aides to the US president who have softened the proposal and suggested they would be open to shelving it if Arab allies came up with an alternative plan for the post-war management of Gaza that removed Hamas
..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
from power.

But the plan unveiled on Tuesday didn’t explicitly address this concern, and the White House quickly came out against it, saying it was sticking with Trump’s original proposal.

"We have been listening to Mr. Trump’s advisers who have explicitly said that this is just a proposal — not an obligatory plan of action," said Majdalani in a rare on-record interview with Israeli media by a Paleostinian official.

Still, the fact that he was willing to even entertain publicly the idea of ending ties with the US, just over a month into Trump’s second tenure, highlighted how alarmed Ramallah was by the president’s talk of taking over Gaza.

TRYING A DIFFERENT APPROACH
The PA gradually cut ties with the US during Trump’s first term, when he recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and proposed a peace plan that envisioned Israel annexing all of its settlements, while offering the Paleostinians only limited illusory sovereignty over the semi-contiguous West Bank land that would remain.

But two senior Paleostinian officials who spoke to The Times of Israel ahead of Trump’s return to the White House said Ramallah would take a different approach during his second term, acknowledging that the lack of engagement with Washington led the US to bypass Ramallah completely as it brokered the Abraham Accords normalization agreements between Israel and several Arab countries.

Abbas restored ties with Trump, sending him a letter wishing him well after the then-GOP presidential nominee survived an attempt on his life last summer. Days after Trump was re-elected, the two then held what interlocutors described as a "warm" call — their first since 2017 — during which the president-elect pledged to end the war in Gaza.

Two months later, Trump played an essential role in securing the ceasefire and hostage release deal between Israel and Hamas that is still holding to date, albeit barely.

Accordingly, Majdalani said Ramallah was caught off guard when Trump weeks later announced his proposal for the US to "own" Gaza and "permanently" relocate all of its residents.

’DEAL OF THE CENTURY’ FLASHBACKS
Majdalani is one of the closest aides to Abbas, who has appointed him to a string of ministerial posts over the past 20 years. Last month, the PA president tapped him to head a fund that will be responsible for a highly sensitive reform to end controversial stipends to Paleostinian security prisoners based on the length of their sentences.

Notably, despite how unpopular it was among Paleostinians, Abbas signed the decree enacting that reform days after Trump announced his Gaza takeover idea.

Trump’s proposal was unveiled in a joint presser with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who immediately welcomed the idea. Majdalani said this was because it fits with what he said is the premier’s effort to annex large parts of the West Bank, thereby destroying the PA and the effort for Paleostinian statehood with it.

Majdalani noted that the Arab world has similarly rejected the US proposal, with Egypt and Jordan viewing Trump’s calls for them to take in Paleostinians from Gaza as "existential threats" to their national security.

Trump’s idea "is not the right way to achieve stability and peace and security in the region," he asserted.

The PA rejected Trump’s 2020 peace plan with similar fervor and refused to discuss the initiative with Washington both before and after its rollout.

The plan was largely shelved within months, while Washington pursued the Abraham Accords. Trump’s aides hinted that it could resurface in his second term, but the president refrained from standing by it when asked last month.

’NO NORMALIZATION WITH EXPULSION’
Explaining the decision to re-engage with Trump after a first term that saw the US cut all aid to the Paleostinians and shutter their diplomatic missions in Washington and Jerusalem, Majdalani explained that Ramallah is "acting according to the political reality."

During their November call, "President Abbas expressed a willingness to cooperate with President Trump and his new administration," said the senior member and faction leader within the PLO — the international umbrella body representing Paleostinians, which is also dominated by Abbas.

"We are ready today and tomorrow to positively cooperate with Mr. Trump and his administration, if he renounces and forgets his idea about taking over Gaza and expelling of its residents en masse," Majdalani said.

That readiness would dissipate completely if the US actually moved forward with the idea. "We will defend our principles and our interests," he asserted.

Pressed again on why the PA has maintained contacts with Washington, given that Trump has yet to back away from his Gaza takeover pitch, Majdalani said that the US has not actually begun implementing it, calling it "a proposal — not a plan."

Trump has defended his idea, saying that Gaza is an uninhabitable "demolition site."

"The question Mr. Trump should be asking is, ’Who destroyed Gaza and made it uninhabitable?'" Majdalani said, referring to Israel’s 15-plus month bombardment of Gaza aimed at dismantling Hamas after the October 7 onslaught.

"The problem is not the existence of Paleostinians in Gaza. The problem is the existence of the Israel occupation in Gaza. So the goal should be to remove the occupation, not the Paleostinians," he said, asserting that only a two-state solution will provide security and stability for Israel and the region.

"If [Trump] thinks that there will be regional peace with Israeli normalization alongside the mass expulsion of Gaza’s residents and the annexation of the West Bank, he is wrong," Majdalani said.

Asked whether the PA could accept the relocation of Gazooks if it was done temporarily and not by force, Majdalani rejected the premise.

"There is no such thing as voluntary emigration... in more accurate terms, it’s ethnic reasoning," he continued. "For us, it is not acceptable to move the residents of Gaza — not temporarily and not permanently."

"Gaza is not for sale in the first place. It is part of the Paleostinian homeland... and the Paleostinians in Gaza will remain on their homeland."

The other half of the interview with Majdalani about the PA’s recent reform of its controversial prisoner payment policy was published on Tuesday.

DOGE slashes entire government agency with average salary of $131,000 a year to just ONE staff
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] DOGE announced on Tuesday that the Inter-American Foundation has been slashed in accordance with an executive order the president signed last month deeming it 'unnecessary.'

The only employee left at the agency now is Peter Marocco, who previously presided over the Trump administration's gutting of the foreign aid programs at the United States Agency for International Development and the state department, according to The Guardian.

Marocco was appointed to head the agency on Friday, it reports.

The headcount at the independent federal agency prior to DOGE's onslaught was 48, and the average employee salary was $131,000 each year, according to Musk's department.

'The Inter-American Foundation, an agency whose primary action was to issue federal grants ($60million budget), has been reduced to its statutory minimum (1 active employee),' DOGE posted to its X account on Tuesday ahead of Trump's Address to the Joint Congress.

The agency was created by Congress in 1969 to issue grants to countries in Latin America and the Caribbean for 'localized community-led development,' according to its now defunct website.

It awarded some 5,800 grants valued at more than $945 million since 1972, with 425 active projects as of October, according to The Guardian.

27 militants were eliminated in the North Caucasus in 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] In the North Caucasus in 2024, 27 members of illegal armed groups were neutralized. This was announced on March 5 by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev.

"Considerable attention was paid to the North Caucasus region. As a result of events carried out jointly with the Federal Security Service and the Russian National Guard, 27 active participants in illegal armed groups were neutralized last year," he said at an extended meeting of the department's board.

The minister added that another 135 members of illegal armed groups were detained.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on the night of March 5, a counter-terrorist operation (CTO) regime was declared in the village of Semender in Makhachkala. Security forces neutralized four armed bandits who were planning a terrorist attack on the regional police department facility in Kaspiysk. The criminals resisted law enforcement officers.

At the site of the armed clash with the militants and in a nearby cache, security forces discovered homemade bombs, grenades, and automatic firearms.

On March 5, Dagestan's head Sergei Melikov said he considered the militant attack in Makhachkala a failed attempt to destabilize the region. He specified that the gang's activities were coordinated by members of the Islamic State group (a terrorist organization banned in Russia). No security forces or civilians were hurt.

“On February 27, State Committee for National Security officers detained 30 supporters of an underground terrorist cell, whose activities were coordinated by foreign centers of an international terrorist organization,” the article says.

It is noted that terrorist acts were planned against officials, employees of special services and law enforcement agencies. Night special operation by security forces alarmed Makhachkala residents

Residents of the Makhachkala village of Semender said they were alarmed by a night shootout in which security forces killed four militants. All of the dead were residents of Dagestan.

As the "Caucasian Knot" reported, last night a counter-terrorist operation regime was declared in the Makhachkala village of Semender. In a shootout, security forces killed four people. The Anti-Terrorist Committee declared the dead to be militants of the banned terrorist organization "Islamic State". At 06:20 Moscow time the counter-terrorist operation regime was lifted.

According to the Dagestan operational headquarters, security forces were checking information about possible preparations for a terrorist attack. During an attempt to detain them, several people opened fire from automatic weapons at traffic police officers. They were blocked in one of the houses, and residents of nearby houses were evacuated.

A resident of the village, Semender Abdul, reported that he heard shots at night and learned from acquaintances in the village that “there was a shootout with the police.”

"They said that it was the area of the final stop of the 77 bus route, not far from Vinogradnaya Street," he told a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, noting that this was an area of private development and there were no important social facilities there.

A resident of Semender, Zaur, said that his brother, who lives in the area, called him and warned him not to leave the house because he could hear gunfire.

He reported that the road along the October Revolution Canal, not far from Moskovskaya and Vinogradnaya streets, was blocked. After the special operation was over, a neighbor told his brother that he was returning from work and the cordon had not yet been lifted. He was stopped by law enforcement officers to check his documents, after which he was released," Zaur told a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The introduction of the CTO legal regime gives security forces the authority to temporarily resettle people and tow cars from its zone of action, suspend the provision of communication services and the work of some enterprises, according to the "Caucasian Knot" reference " Counter-terrorist operation (CTO) regime ".

All those killed turned out to be residents of Dagestan

In connection with the shootout, a criminal case has been opened under Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempt on the life of law enforcement officers) and Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal arms trafficking), the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Dagestan reported today.

According to the investigation, all four of those killed were residents of Dagestan. "The investigation established that on March 5, 2025, at night, during operational activities, law enforcement officers in the Kirovsky District of Makhachkala eliminated four residents of the republic while offering armed resistance. During the clash, law enforcement officers and civilians were not injured," the department's website said.

Let us recall that the counter-terrorist operation in Dagestan was the first since June 2024, when Orthodox churches and synagogues were attacked in Derbent and Makhachkala. Six suspected militants were killed, more than 15 security forces and several civilians were killed.

International-UN-NGOs
Robin Burk: Time for controlled demolition of NATO?
[TheBlaze] With outdated goals and bloated costs, NATO may need a complete overhaul or a controlled dismantling to protect America’s long-term interests.

When they’re first built, skyscrapers and other towering buildings are impressive. But there comes a time when structural weaknesses raise the danger that one will collapse, injuring or killing many people going about their daily business. Shoring up the building works for a while, sometimes, but often things reach the stage where the most prudent action is to demolish it in a controlled way.

The United States faces similar structural threats today. The two most urgent and fundamental dangers are the unchecked administrative state at home — and, by extension, among globalist NGOs — and the declining condition of many NATO partner countries. Both the administrative state and the U.S. role in NATO were products of postwar efforts to create stability and order after World War II. However, these institutions have grown far beyond their original purposes and now pose significant risks to our national security, economic stability, and core constitutional freedoms.

Both the entrenched administrative state and our current alliances with Western Europe now show serious structural weaknesses.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency project is exposing the depth of corruption and waste within the administrative bureaucracy and its NGO partners. As a result, Americans are starting to see how these networks leave ordinary people struggling to afford basic needs like food and rent. The findings also reveal the extent of the country’s precarious financial situation.

However, fewer Americans realize how European countries have drained U.S. resources — and arguably poisoned the relationship — through their actions. While the United States has shouldered most of NATO’s expenses and defense efforts, European nations have neglected their own militaries and failed to meet their defense commitments.

European nations have made things worse by burdening their own economies with unsustainable welfare programs and excessive regulations that stifle innovation. At the same time, they have imposed unfair tariffs on U.S. goods, increasing the economic strain.

Even more troubling, they are trying to impose regulations on U.S. energy use, free speech, information flow, and even the participation of popular parties in national governments. Recent examples are easy to find, and Vice President Vance recently highlighted some of these issues at the Munich conference.

Meanwhile, they expect the United States to continue draining its resources, admit Ukraine into NATO — which would commit U.S. forces to respond to Russia — and silence any criticism of their actions on social media.

The hypocrisy is both staggering and offensive. For proof, just look at how much Russian oil and gas Germany is buying today, even as it refuses to allow imports of Israeli natural gas.

Is it time to consider a controlled demolition of NATO? Possibly. The alliance should have been restructured or dissolved after the Soviet Union fell 34 years ago. Instead, President Clinton and his successors expanded NATO incrementally by adding former Soviet and communist countries on Russia’s border. That this strategy would provoke a response was entirely predictable.

#1  Look at my post on the French speech today.

Macron just delivered his speech to the nation:

“I’ve decided to begin strategic discussions on protecting our allies on the European continent with our French nuclear weapons”

We need to run away from NATO right now they are making the Democrats in house and senate look saner.

It has pretty much declared it no longer needs or wants the US physically there, just the freebies give (MTV, PHV, Prüm, Manheim, Hubbelrath and many other sites) and $$$$$ we send and spend there.

So save the US Taxpayers a $10+ Billion in annual OCONUS expenses and let the EU defend itself.

#10  Re NATO & civil rights.

It should not be forgotten that a crackdown on free speech in the name of promoting NATO & US government policies has been a consensus in the Western political class for a quite some years.

The Bush administration's political support for basic civil rights in the West after 9/11 was lukewarm at best, the Obama administration was downright hostile.

Obama, a beloved POTUS who was elected and reelected, officially and publicly demanded that the future must not belong to basic free speech. The free speech in question being a Christian pastor's publicity stunt designed to draw attention to Islam's murderous intolerance.

At the same time representatives of a passive aggressive, disrespectful, hostile and evil regime (liberated Afghanistan / The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan) were obesequiously receiced by the US & NATO politcial elite, even unsuited in the Oval Office.

MB Egypt, a recipient of US aid, officially called for negotiations with the US about amending the US Constitution to make it Sharia compatible, to no outrage or consequences.

The Obama administration leaked information about Israel's potential actions against Iranian nukes, even though Iran pioneered the Islamic threat to Western free speech rights in the West.

Even Donald Trump criticized the targets of the Garland attack in 2015 for criticizing Islam after the Charlie Hebdo massacre.

I believe this demolition, controlled or not, already happened in Afghanistan, it was called Operation Enduring Freedom. Because of Afghanistan NATO, very much including the US, chose to abandon the core values of Western civilization.

Europe
'Facing the threat from Putin': Is Spain ready to send troops to Ukraine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Vladimir Dobrynin

[REGNUM] Unexpectedly for many, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez showed demonstrative concern for Ukraine, publicly promising it a billion euros of Spanish generosity. But money alone will not do in this matter. In Europe, there is talk of sending troops to Ukraine.

No sooner had the sounds of the latest speech about military support for Ukraine died down at the London meeting of the heads of 12 European countries than the Spanish TV channel LaSexta immediately began to find out whether Spanish politicians from the parties represented in parliament agreed with the idea of sending troops.

95.2% of Socialist MPs, 87.5% of the leftist Sumar party, and 77.2% of the opposition People's Party voted in favor of sending military units to Ukraine.

The right-wing populist group Vox came out strongly against this initiative - 77.8% of its deputies rejected the proposal to send troops, while only 20.4% were in favor. However, given the small number of right-wing "ultras" in Congress, the final percentage of those who supported sending troops to Ukraine was simply overwhelming - 81.7%.

True, one can assume that the opinion of ordinary Spaniards will differ greatly from what the deputies showed, but the television people did not poll the street on this topic.

In an interview with the Telecinco (Fifth Button) television channel, the head of Spanish diplomacy, José Manuel Albarez, expressed a reserved attitude towards the possibility of sending troops to ensure peace in Ukraine.

This measure, according to the head of the Spanish Foreign Ministry, is part of the points agreed upon this Sunday at a meeting of Western leaders in London under the leadership of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and in the presence of the head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky. Agreed upon, but not yet approved, Albarez emphasized.

“It seems to me premature to talk about peacekeeping forces when there is still no peace and when we still do not know whether what some call peace is just a ceasefire that will become chronic, or, even worse, just an intermediate stage between two wars,” the minister said rather confusingly on Monday.

Prime Minister Sánchez declined to comment on the recent talks between the "coalition of the willing," as the Spanish press calls the group of European dignitaries meeting in London. This behavior gave opposition leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo, who leads the Popular Party, the opportunity to take another jab at his political rival.

"In the current circumstances, we are forced to insist that the Prime Minister disclose to the members of Congress both the content of the initiatives to establish peace in Ukraine and specify what is meant by the 1 billion euros he recently promised in aid to Kiev, " El Periodico quotes Feijóo as saying. "We must know where our government is leading us."

The publication's correspondent Ivan Khil believes that "Pedro Sanchez is trying to remove the issue of sending troops to Ukraine on a peacekeeping mission from the agenda at the European level. And here he has to fight against the Starmer-Macron tandem, who again and again insist on the need to introduce a NATO peacekeeping contingent to Ukraine."

It was not possible to find confirmation of the Spanish Prime Minister’s peaceful attitude in other publications in the kingdom.

"In Moncloa (the seat of the Spanish government. - Ed.) they assure that they are not avoiding debates in parliament on the topic of participation in the NATO peacekeeping mission, " an anonymous source in the government assured Gil. "But they simply believe that the time has not yet come. There is no point in talking about anything until an agreement on at least a ceasefire in Ukraine is signed."

Other government sources give the impression that peace on the terms demanded by European countries is still a long way off. Even if talks take place in the short term, they say, the debate over troop deployment will be nuanced, starting with whether peacekeepers will operate under the flag of the North Atlantic alliance, the United Nations or the EU.

Foreign Minister Albarez assured that Spain will be "among those who write history" as a "leading actor" in the decisions taken, and not as a secondary player "uncritically joining the consensus."

For this reason, he "did not close the door" to sending Spanish troops to Ukraine on a "peacekeeping mission." However, he would like to stress that the current discussion is "political and diplomatic, not military and implementation-oriented."

In connection with the issue of sending troops to Ukraine, Spanish politicians are also discussing the EU and NATO directives calling for each of the alliance member states to increase their defense spending to 2% of annual GDP. Madrid “still aims to achieve this figure by 2029.” In other words: we’ll try sometime later. There is no money here and now.

Sanchez intends to take steps to strengthen European defense "in the face of the threat posed by Putin." At the same time, the Spanish Prime Minister expects that both Spain and the EU as a whole will be able to achieve this "outside the national budgets." That is, by creating another fund of hundreds of billions of euros, which will have to be borrowed from somewhere and then gradually repaid.

Such debts may have to be repaid over several decades, some experts believe.

They also do not rule out that the same thing could happen to this fund as happened to the billions with which the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, “on behalf and on behalf” of the European Union and “in one person,” purchased several billion doses of the so-called anti-Covid vaccine from Pfizer.

The court, the prosecutor's office and a team of investigative journalists are now working to clarify the details of this operation.

Several small parliamentary factions representing small parties in Spain are not thrilled with the “two percent prospect” (and also with the proposed introduction of troops into Ukraine).

For example, the once-powerful but now dwarfed Podemos party called for Spain to leave NATO. Others, such as the Catalan ERC and the Basque EH Bildu, took a less radical stance, merely questioning the need for increased defense spending. Vox simply declared that it would not accept the idea of sending Spanish troops “beyond NATO’s eastern border.”

ElPeriodico's anonymous experts independently expressed a unanimous opinion that Sánchez will bet on dragging out the troop-sending talks, possibly in the hope that the situation will somehow resolve itself.

Great White North
Ontario Threatens to Cut U.S. Power Supply Over Tariffs
All because they don’t want to close their border to fentanyl deliveries and illegals migrating? Wow.
[PJMedia] People who truly understand Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons...
know that he employs a variety of tactics to achieve his ends. He does come across as a bit ham-fisted on occasion, but to those who are able to read between the lines, we understand that, as Glenn Beck once quipped, many of Trump's remarks should be taken seriously, but not literally.

Trump is a negotiator and a tough-talker. But his enemies understand that Trump's comments and actions can and will be taken literally by the uninformed masses who are used to feasting on a regular diet of outrage and paranoia. The statist class hates the idea of negotiating, perhaps even more than it hates losing. The statist class relishes the feeling of having power but cherishes the ability to wield that power to attack its opponents. So it should come as no surprise that the Canucks are hitting back at Trump's tariff threat.

The Ontario Sun reports that Ontario Premier Doug Ford was speaking at a mining conference in Toronto on Monday. He said that in reaction to Trump's impending tariffs, he would be more than happy to cut the power supply to states in the U.S.:

If they want to try to annihilate Ontario, I will do everything — including cut off their energy with a smile on my face. They rely on our energy; they need to feel the pain. They want to come at us hard; we’re going to come back twice as hard.

He went on to say that he would match Trump tariff for tariff and dollar for dollar:

That’s exactly what we’re going to do. The provinces have a big say in it, but it’s the federal government that’s leading the charge, and we’re going to stand shoulder-to-shoulder no matter who’s in the federal government. I (didn’t) start this tariff war, but we’re going to win this tariff war.

According to the Sun, with the exception of Texas, every power grid in the U.S. is tied into the Canadian system. The paper says that Michigan, New York, and Minnesota are the biggest customers for Canadian power and would be the hardest hit. Not only would such a blackout be inconvenient, but it could be life-threatening to some.
Just the kind of sharp slap in the face to jumpstart acceptance of building new power plants and drilling for oil in America — and even streamlining regulations on both. Smallish pain, yuuuuuge gain.

Afghanistan
Torkham Closure Trade Losses Mount as Afghan-Pakistani Tensions Persist
[ToloNews] The closure of the Torkham crossing for the past twelve days has created serious challenges for travelers and traders, while Afghan and Pak officials continue their efforts to find a solution.

Torkham, one of the most important crossings between Afghanistan and Pakistain, handles the largest volume of trade and movement between the two countries. This situation has inflicted millions of dollars in losses on traders.

Khanjan Alokozay, the head of the Afghanistan-Pakistain Joint Chamber of Commerce, stated: "Around 800 trucks pass through both sides daily; today marks the twelfth day, meaning more than six thousand trucks have been halted. We hold conferences and video calls through the joint chamber, and we are in discussions with them. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
officials are also making efforts, but so far, these efforts have yielded no results."

Local officials in Nangarhar and the Afghan Chamber of Commerce have held multiple meetings with Pak authorities to reopen the crossing, but no progress has been made, and border festivities continue.

Zalmay Khalilzad, the former US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, stated on X that the tensions between Afghan and Pak forces at Torkham should be resolved through diplomatic means.

Khalilzad wrote: "People are dying, and others are becoming refugees. Traders on both sides are losing millions of dollars. Each is accusing the other of sheltering bully boy groups inimical to them. Diplomacy is a better option."

Some political analysts believe that keeping border crossings closed is not a suitable solution and that Pakistain should send a delegation to Afghanistan for high-level negotiations.

"I urge the government to engage with Pakistain based on our national interests and the legitimate demands of our people—not for the benefit of a single group, ethnicity, or region," said Yousuf Amin Zazi, a political analyst.

"The Pak government has historically used the Torkham border to pressure the Islamic Emirate and the Afghan people, and it continues to do so. As a result, people in Afghanistan, Pakistain, and Central Asia are suffering widespread losses," said Fazl Rahman Oria, another political analyst.

In recent years, relations between Kabul and Islamabad have deteriorated, exacerbated by the expulsion of Afghan refugees from Pakistain and Pak attacks on Afghan soil.

Home Front: Politix
The President''s Speech to Congress - and America
[TOWNHALL] It was a partisan speech. It was an optimistic speech. It was a speech that laid the blame for inflation and the massive number of migrants colonists and illegal drugs that entered the country during the previous administration at the feet of Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
. It was an uplifting speech about the future. It was a deliberately divisive
...politicians call things divisive when when the other side sez something they don't like. Their own statements are never divisive, they're principled...
speech when it came to policies pushed by the Democrats as opposed to policies endorsed by Republicans. And it was at times a funny speech as President Donald Trump
...Never got invited to a P.Diddy party...
pointed to Democrats and the silly signs raised by some, blasting them for all sorts of things when they had the power. It was a long speech. One commentator said it eclipsed the long-winded speeches of Bill Clinton
...former Democratic president of the U.S. Bill was the second U.S. president to be impeached, the first to deny that oral sex was sex, the first to have difficulty with the definition of the word is...
It was also full of empathy for victims of migrant crime. Trump brought some of the widows and daughters whose husbands and fathers were taken from them by gang members who had repeatedly committed crimes but were let go after being arrested in Democrat states with "sanctuary cities."

As if to rile Senate Democrats, none of whom would vote for a bill protecting women's sports from men who claim to be transgender, Trump invited a woman who suffered traumatic brain injury after being hit with a volleyball by a biological man playing with women on the opposite team.

Perhaps the sweetest moment of the night was when Trump authorized the Secret Service to bestow the title of "agent" on a young boy who was given five years to live after being diagnosed with brain cancer. He always wanted to be a police officer. The boy hugged the agent who gave him an official identification card. His proud father lifted him up for all to see.

Incredibly, all the Democrats remained seated, stoic and would not applaud anything, not the boy with brain cancer, not families of murder victims, not even the first lady when she entered the chamber. So deep is their hatred for Trump who is running circles around them with the speed of his policy initiatives. Some held up signs, reminiscent of that TV ad for a pharmaceutical company that treats depression. The woman in the ad carries a round sign with an upside-down smiley face. That appears to be the face of today's Democrat Party. They are being beaten by Trump at every turn. Polls show the public are mostly with him, especially in his quest to downsize bloated government

Apple Trees on Mars and Peace in Ukraine: What Trump Spoke to Congress About for an Hour and a Half
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Malek Dudakov

[REGNUM] US President Donald Trump's first address to Congress since his re-election highlighted the deep divisions in American politics that have persisted since the recent election.

For the US president, this is a traditional annual speech in which he reports on his successes in office and outlines priorities for the coming year. During Trump's first term, his addresses to the nation and Congress always caused fits of madness among Democrats. His speech in his second term was no exception.

The main leitmotif of the address was the concept of the "American dream that cannot be stopped." Trump has only been in office for a month and a half, but he has already boasted of his first achievements, such as saving billions of dollars for the budget after cleaning up the state apparatus and cutting bureaucracy.

But the president mostly focused on America's problems and what needs to be done in 2025, which clearly promises to be a difficult year.

Trump gave one of the longest speeches in history, lasting more than an hour and a half; usually, presidents speak in Congress for an hour on average.

He focused on the problem of illegal immigration and invited relatives of victims killed by illegal immigrants to the Capitol. Trump also promised to fight crime, destroy terrorists and revive the US Armed Forces, which have been stuck in a long-term crisis due to a decline in the number of people willing to serve and problems in the military-industrial complex.

The speech mostly concerned domestic politics, which primarily concerns ordinary Americans. But there were also references to foreign policy topics.

Trump reported progress in the negotiation process with Russia. It is not for nothing that even before the speech, insider information about the development of plans to ease sanctions against Russia began to appear in the American press. If the political will appears, then it is not difficult to do this - the president will not even need congressional approval to abandon the restrictions.

The rare earths deal with Ukraine remains in limbo, with Trump vowing to prevent the war from continuing for another five years.

The pressure on the current Kiev government has increased sharply after the recent spat with Volodymyr Zelensky in the White House. The US has completely curtailed programs for sending weapons under old contracts concluded during the Joe Biden era. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have also started having problems receiving intelligence data - both from the US and from Britain.

The aid freeze will affect contracts worth $30 billion at a time, primarily for Patriot and NASAMS air defense missiles, artillery ammunition, HIMARS missile systems, and anti-tank weapons.

This is a very painful blow for Kyiv, because they will not be able to get the same missiles anywhere else. The Europeans are ready to supply a small number of shells, but they themselves have very serious problems with air defense. And without satellite reconnaissance, using high-precision weapons will become completely problematic.

For Trump, closing the trenches is a lever of pressure on Zelensky's office. If the situation on the front line for the Ukrainian Armed Forces deteriorates sharply, then the situation inside Ukraine will also destabilize.

Then the probability of a scenario of a change of power, Zelensky's resignation and elections increases sharply. Someone more capable of reaching an agreement than Zelensky may win the elections.

If the Kyiv authorities back down in their standoff with Trump, they will likely be forced into an even more unfavorable rare earth deal.

In the meantime, Zelensky is threatened not only with a halt in aid from the United States, but also with anti-corruption investigations, which have been announced by Trump's allies.

The president also announced during his speech his desire to reach an agreement on the situation in Ukraine as quickly as possible and switch to other areas. Among them are the return of the Panama Canal to US control, the annexation of Greenland, and even the planting of the American flag on Mars when the colonization of the planet begins.

The speech provoked an unusually emotional reaction among Democrats. Some of them boycotted the event, while others demonstratively walked out right during the speech. Democrats brought many signs with which they staged impromptu pickets and tried to interrupt Trump.

The incidents of his first term, when Democrats also constantly went into hysterics during speeches, were repeated. In 2020, Nancy Pelosi, then Speaker of the House of Representatives, even at one point stood behind Trump and began to demonstratively tear up pages of his speech.

Typically, the party that opposes the current government records an alternative address to the nation. The Democrats have now chosen Michigan Senator Elise Slotkin for this.

She devoted most of her speech to criticizing not even Trump, but rather Elon Musk. She also made the usual cliches about Ronald Reagan “turning in his grave,” who would supposedly be shocked by Trump’s behavior in the context of the Ukrainian conflict.
President Nixon, on the other hand, apparently was a friend and admirer, looking forward to Donald Trump in the White House.
Reagan's figure in American political discourse is generally too heavily mythologized. He was not the hawkish man he is often portrayed as.

Moreover, Reagan himself was often criticized by many neocons in Washington, for example, for his meetings with Mikhail Gorbachev, and accused of capitulating to the Soviet Union. Similar rhetoric is now being used by hawks against Trump in connection with the start of negotiations with Russia.

Senator Slotkin's speech ended mid-sentence, and this became a good illustration of the current state of the Democratic Party. Hysteria and full-throated vilification of Trump and Musk is the maximum they are capable of now. But there are obvious problems with developing an alternative agenda.

Democrats can only hope that Trump himself will make mistakes and that this will hurt his ratings. In the meantime, all they can do is pull off circus acts like what happened in Congress.

In the run-up to the US President's speech, there were insider reports that he might make some kind of sensation. For example, announce his withdrawal from NATO. However, such radical statements were not made.

However, the general course of the new policy, aimed at a serious shake-up of all US institutions and alliances with allies, does not change in any way.

To do this, it is not at all necessary to leave the North Atlantic Alliance. It is possible to reduce cooperation within NATO to a minimum - and, say, completely abandon the organization of joint exercises and teamwork.

This strategy, which has been dubbed in the United States as a transition to a “sleeping NATO,” has long been discussed among Republican foreign policy strategists.

It could also become one of the points that Trump's team will offer to the Russian side during the negotiations. After all, the endless exercises near Russia's western borders and the build-up of military forces in Eastern European countries have only escalated the situation in recent years and eventually led to an open conflict.

Such plans by Trump's team are causing hysteria among European hawks, but their opinion is of no interest to anyone in the White House.

There they are betting on the further growth of isolationist sentiments in American society. Participation in the Ukrainian conflict and European affairs is already becoming unpopular in the US: 70-80% of Americans are in favor of negotiations with Moscow and de-escalation in Ukraine.

Attitudes toward Russia have improved significantly among the Republican electorate, especially its younger part, who did not live through the Cold War.

And Democrats' hopes that Trump will discredit himself with his conciliatory policies may ultimately prove futile.

Terror Networks
Islamic State the deadliest terror group in 2024 as big four expands
[VISIONOFHUMANITY.ORG] Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) and its affiliates remained the deadliest terrorist organization in 2024, responsible for 1,805 deaths across 22 countries.

The four major terrorist organizations, IS, Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal Moslemeen (JNIM), Tehrik-e-Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
Pakistain (TTP), and al-Shabaab
... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
continued to increase their activity, with deaths attributed to these groups increasing by 11 per cent to 4,204. In 2023, these groups were active in 29 countries which increased to 30 countries in 2024.

IS continues to function as a global network, maintaining its presence across multiple regions through affiliated groups. In 2024, it was active in 22 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe. Despite counterterrorism efforts, the group's ability to coordinate, inspire, and execute attacks highlights its resilience and evolving operational strategies.

In 2024, 36 per cent of terrorist attacks were not claimed by an organization. IEP has developed a machine learning model to assign these incidents to likely groups. The analysis found that deaths attributed to IS would have been 58 per cent higher, while those linked to JNIM would have been 176 per cent higher. This underscores the challenges in accurately assessing the impact of different terrorist organizations.

This is the twelfth edition of the Global Terrorism Index (GTI), which provides a comprehensive summary of the key global trends and patterns in terrorism over the last decade. While overall deaths from terrorism declined in 2024, several groups remained highly active, perpetuating violence and instability.

THE 10 DEADLIEST TERROR GROUPS IN 2024

ISLAMIC STATE (IS) AND AFFILIATES
Islamic State (IS) and its affiliated chapters, including Islamic State-Khorasan Province (ISK) and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWA), remained the most lethal terrorist network in 2024. The group was responsible for 1,805 deaths across 23 countries, despite a 10% decline from the previous year. IS continues to employ suicide kabooms and armed assaults, particularly targeting military personnel and civilians.

JAMAAT NUSRAT AL-ISLAM WALMUSLIMEEN (JNIM)
Operating mainly in the Sahel region
... North Africa's answer to the Pak tribal areas...
, JNIM recorded a significant rise in attacks, resulting in 1,022 deaths. The group expanded its operations in Mali and Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president used to be Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and was chased out in 2014. Now it's the usual army officer type guy, Captain Ibrahim Traore, running things, who's just doing a bang-up job unless he's already been deposed...
, with its most devastating assault occurring in Centre-Nord, Burkina Faso, where up to 200 non-combatants were killed in a coordinated offensive.

TEHRIK-E-TALIBAN PAKISTAIN (TTP)
TTP was responsible for 558 deaths in 2024, marking a 90% increase compared to the previous year. The group intensified its attacks in Pakistain's Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
provinces, with its deadliest attack killing 25 people at a railway station in Quetta.

AL-SHABAAB
Al-Shabaab remains Somalia's most dangerous Death Eater organization, responsible for 96% of terrorist attacks in the country. While the group's overall activity declined, it still accounted for over 400 deaths. The deadliest attack of the year occurred in Mogadishu, where a suicide kaboom and armed assault on a hotel killed 37 people.

BOKO HARAM
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
Although Boko Haram's influence has waned compared to previous years, the group remains a significant threat in Nigeria and Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
. In 2024, Boko Haram was responsible for multiple deadly assaults, including an attack in Yobe State, Nigeria, where 100 to 150 non-combatants were killed.

ISLAMIC STATE-KHORASAN PROVINCE (ISK)
ISK maintained its deadly presence across Afghanistan, Iran, and Russia, with 95 people killed in a single bombing at a memorial event in Iran. The group also orchestrated the Crocus City Hall attack in Moscow, which resulted in 144 fatalities—the fourth deadliest terrorist incident of the year.

ISLAMIC STATE WEST AFRICA PROVINCE (ISWA)
A key IS affiliate, ISWA engaged in violent mostly peaceful festivities with Boko Haram in Nigeria, leading to over 85 deaths in April 2024. The group remains one of the dominant actors in the Lake Chad Basin region.

HAYAT TAHRIR AL-SHAM, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
(HTS)

Formerly an al-Qaeda affiliate, HTS continued its insurgency in Syria, responsible for numerous targeted liquidations and bombings, primarily in Idlib and Aleppo.

BALOCHISTAN LIBERATION ARMY (BLA)
The BLA escalated its campaign against Pak security forces and Chinese infrastructure projects. The group grabbed credit for Pakistain's deadliest attack in 2024, a suicide kaboom that killed 25 people at a Quetta railway station.

HAMAS
..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
Hamas increased its Death Eater activities in 2024, particularly in Israel and the Paleostinian territories. The group grabbed credit for a high-profile attack in Tel Aviv that resulted in seven civilian deaths.

The findings from the GTI 2025 underscore the persistent and evolving threat of terrorism worldwide. While counterterrorism efforts have weakened some groups, others continue to expand, particularly in unstable regions such as the Sahel, South Asia, and the Middle East, fed in part by the root causes of extremism including political instability, economic deprivation and ideological radicalisation.

Olde Tyme Religion
Pope Francis not dead yet, calls parish in Gaza
[CRUXNOW] As he approaches three weeks in the hospital, Pope Francis

...Argentine liberation theologist, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio. He was elected pope in 2013. Rather than setting up shop in Avignon, where he belongs, the first Jesuit Pope chose to reside in the Domus Sanctae Marthae guesthouse instead of the papal apartments. That was to show how humble he is. He is big on climate change, against consumerism, and in favor of throwing a blanket over homosexual activity within the clergy. He's not real sure about the Resurrection, about Christ's divinity, and a few other things that would have gotten him burned at the stake a few hundred years ago, but he's hot for a certain South American Earth Mother Goddess...
Wednesday had a good day, calling the Catholic parish in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
and stepping up respiratory and mobility exercises despite several recent bumps in the road.

In a March 5 statement, the Vatican said Pope Francis ''remained stable'' throughout the day and had no episodes of respiratory difficulty or failure.

During the day, he received high-flow oxygen through the nose as planned, and use of non-invasive ventilation will be used during the night, as has been the case for the past two days, after experiencing a respiratory spasm.

Francis, 88, spent the day in a chair and in the morning, in his private apartment on the 10th floor of Rome's Gemelli Hospital, he participated in the rite of the blessing of the ashes for Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of the Lenten season.

He then had the ashes imposed on him by the celebrant and received the Eucharist.

Also in the morning the pope called Father Gabriel Romanelli, pastor Holy Family parish in Gaza, and conducted some work activities. He spent the afternoon working.
"It's your cell phone. Caller ID says it's the Pope. And your pager went off"
"Don't touch them!"

Despite another stable day for Pope Francis, given the complexity of his overall clinical status, which includes factors such as his age and underlying chronic respiratory illness, doctors are still refraining from providing an overall prognosis, which remains ''guarded.''

‘Didn’t like direction ship was heading’: Head of US office for Palestinians in Jerusalem to resign
[IsraelTimes] Hans Wechsel, who heads the US Embassy in Jerusalem’s Office for Palestinian Affairs, informed staff on Tuesday that he would be resigning from his post at the end of the month, a US official says, confirming a report in Jewish Insider.

Wechsel told staff that he “didn’t like the direction the ship was heading,” JI reported.

Wechsel is a career diplomat who only arrived in Jerusalem in August of last year.
A Biden administration appointee disapproves of the Trump direction? Quelle surprise! Still, points to the gentleman for honesty, instead of burrowing in and trying to undermine later.
The Trump administration created the Office for Palestinian Affairs, folding it into the embassy after shuttering the US Consulate in Jerusalem — an independent mission serving the Palestinians. The move was widely seen as a downgrade of US-Palestinian ties.

While former US president Joe Biden campaigned on reopening the consulate, Israel blocked the move, and he sufficed to again separate the diplomatic reporting channels between the embassy and the US office for Palestinian Affairs.

Turkish Airlines Suspends Mogadishu Flights After U.S. Embassy Issues Security Warning
[ShabelleMedia] Ottoman Turkish Airlines announced on Tuesday that it has halted its flight operations to Mogadishu following a security alert from the U.S. Embassy in the Somali capital.

The embassy warned of unspecified security risks in Somalia, prompting Ottoman Turkish Airlines to suspend its international flights connecting Mogadishu to Europe. The move disrupts a vital air link for the country, which has struggled with instability for decades.

The airline informed the public that the suspension would take effect from March 5 to March 12, covering seven days. No additional information was provided on whether the suspension might be extended beyond that timeframe.

Specific reasons for the security warning remain undisclosed, leaving travelers and residents with limited clarity on the threat. The airline and Somali officials have urged passengers to stay informed about the latest security updates and flight schedules as developments unfold.

The Somali Civil Aviation Authority has not yet commented on how the U.S. alert, issued today, has affected operations at Aden Adde International Airport. The airport is a cornerstone of Somalia’s economy, ranking as the government’s second-largest revenue source.

The flight suspension highlights ongoing concerns over safety in Somalia, where murderous Moslem groups like al-Shabaab
... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all ofwhich have enough problems without them...
frequently target civilian and government infrastructure.

Neither Ottoman Turkish Airlines nor local authorities have indicated when more details about the situation might be released as many passengers are awaiting their flights to depart.

U.S. Embassy Issues Security Alert for U.S. Citizens in Somalia

[ShabelleMedia] The U.S. Embassy in Somalia issued a security alert for American citizens, reminding them of ongoing risks in the country despite the lifting of restrictions for official U.S. Embassy travelers at Aden Adde International Airport.

The U.S. Department of State’s Level 4 travel advisory for Somalia — urging Americans to “Do Not Travel” — remains in effect due to significant threats from crime, terrorism, civil unrest, health hazards, kidnapping, and piracy.

The embassy warns that terrorists continue to target Western interests in Somalia, with potential attacks on airports, seaports, checkpoints, government buildings, hotels, restaurants, shopping areas, and other crowded locations. These attacks may occur with little or no warning and could include car bombs, suicide bombings, individual attackers, or mortar fire.

“The risk of kidnapping, bombings, and other attacks remains high,” the embassy said in the advisory, urging U.S. citizens to remain vigilant.

The U.S. government has limited capacity to provide emergency assistance to American citizens in Somalia due to the absence of a permanent consular presence in the country.

U.S. citizens are also reminded to sign up for the new STEP (Smart Traveler Enrollment Program) platform to continue receiving important updates from the embassy.

UN extends sanctions on Al-Qaeda-linked militant group in Somalia
[Garowe] Al-Shabaab's sanctions have been extended by the United Nations Security Council, with special focus on illegal arms imports and charcoal exports, as members raised concerns over vessels behind the transportation of the outlawed weapons.

The sanctions shall run until December 2025, the Council said, while renewing the mandate of the Panel of Experts assisting the Al-Shabaab sanctions regime until 13 January 2026. The resolution 2776 of 2025 was unanimous, the UN reports.

The 15-member Council decided that “all States shall, to prevent Al-Shabaab and other actors intent on undermining peace and security in Somalia and the region from obtaining weapons and ammunition, take the necessary measures to prevent all deliveries of weapons, ammunition, and military equipment to Somalia.”

The measures, the council adds, shall not affect the delivery or supplies to the federal government of Somalia, whose arms embargo was lifted a few months ago. Also not affected are deliveries and supplies to the National Intelligence and Security Agency along with the Somali National Police Force and the Somali Custodial Corps.

The adopted resolution also recognizes the particular concern posed by the flow of weapons from Yemen

Other speakers also expressed concern for the flow of arms from Yemen to Somalia, with La Belle France saying the movement violates the relevant arms embargo. "It is vital to prevent al-Shabaab from establishing and exploiting ties with groups under sanctions in the region — including the Houthis," the French representative stressed.

The US expressed concerns over the growing ties between al-Shabaab and Yemeni Houthis. The representative called for dialogue between the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula to arrest the matter before it got out of hand.

"We urge our fellow Council members to support additional designations, including those of al-Shabaab operatives," the representative from the US said.

the representative of the Russian Federation countered that "the Yemen issue needs to be considered separately".

Return of ISIS-linked nationals from Syria paused due to rehabilitation program
[Rudaw] Iraq’s migration and displaced ministry said on Wednesday that the repatriation of nationals linked to the Islamic State

(ISIS) from al-Hol camp in northeast Syria (Rojava) has been suspended.

Ministry spokesperson Ali Abbas told Rudaw that repatriations from the notorious camp have been suspended for the next four to six months.

He said that the process will resume once the rehabilitation program for returnees, carried out in al-Jada camp in Iraq’s northern Nineveh province, is completed, adding that 3,500 nationals are currently in the rehabilitation process.

According to the latest statistics from the ministry, more than 20,000 Iraqis, including women and kiddies, remain in al-Hol camp. Baghdad had set 2027 as the deadline to finish returning all its nationals from the camp.

Iraqis and Syrians make up the majority of the 40,000 ISIS-linked people being held at the camp, which has been branded a breeding ground for terrorism.

The repatriation of ISIS-linked citizens has sparked opposition in Iraq. Some tribes and communities are unwilling to accept people associated with the group that committed heinous human rights

Others argue that reintegration should be considered for families of ISIS members, especially those who were not directly involved in severe crimes.

Calm returns to Syria's Jaramana after deadly clashes
[Rudaw] Security situation in Jaramana, a suburb of Damascus, normalizes after security forces affiliated with the new Syrian authorities reached a settlement with local Druze button men to allow Damascus-linked forces to be deployed and take charge of the area.

Deadly festivities erupted between local button men and the security forces affiliated with the interim government in recent days. An agreement was reached following mediation from dignitaries and Syrian government authorities.

"What happened was an individual incident. People in a civilian car were attacked by unknown men. Unfortunately, one of the people in the car was a military or security officer [was killed]. It was indeed an unfortunate incident, may he rest in peace," Rabi’ Mondir, a resident of the suburb told Rudaw on Monday.

Makram Saleem is a lawyer. He said the Damascus-linked forces entered the area following an agreement with locals.

Jaramana is a mostly Druze and Christian suburb of the capital Damascus.

The international community has expressed concern that the new Islamist authorities in Damascus may impose strict Islamic rule in Syria, threatening the country’s minority groups such as Kurds, Druze, Christians, and Alawites.

On Saturday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned the Damascus administration to “not harm the Druze,” stressing that Syrian authorities would “suffer the consequences” if they harmed the community.

Congressman Pete Sessions introduces bill banning universal mail-in voting, electronic voting machines, shortening early vote period to 3 DAYS

BREAKING: Congressman Pete Sessions is introducing a bill banning universal mail-in voting and electronic voting machines and shortening the early vote period from months to THREE DAYS. This is a GAME CHANGER!

The legislation is called the Make Elections Secure Again Act (MESA)

"MESA mandates the exclusive use of hand-marked paper ballots for all federal elections and primaries receiving public funds. This eliminates reliance on vulnerable electronic systems, ensuring a tamper-proof, human-verifiable process that reflects voters' true intent."

"The bill requires every voter to present a government-issued photo such as a driver's license, passport, or military and sign an affidavit in the paper poll book affirming U.S. citizenship and single-voting intent under penalty of felony charges."

"Early in-person voting is limited to three days prior to Election Day- the final Tuesday of voting -streamlining administration and concentrating resources for secure, manageable hand counts, while maintaining voter access."

"Mailed ballots are restricted to active-duty military personnel stationed away from their jurisdiction and voters with physician-certified medical conditions preventing in-person voting."

"MESA mandates paper poll books as the primary voter check-in method and caps precinct sizes at 1,500 registered voters, returning elections to community-based, transparent operations that facilitate efficient hand counting and local oversight." -
@PeteSessions
.
This will seriously go down as one of the greatest pieces of legislation in history. This is the only way to stop the election fraud industrial complex forever.

Yes the States carry out the election and their rules prevail unless there is a Federal statute or a constitutional provision, e.g., poll taxes were made illegal by the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

The law proposed by Sessions probably passes constitutional barriers at least for banning universal mail-in and electronic voting but I'm not sure about the other provisions.

The crime of honor killing targets is assimilation into Western civilization.

Logically, for every immigrant family sufficiently fanatical to mete out the death penalty to their own kin there must be 1000+ who would gladly massacre the population of their host country for the crime of practicing Western civilization if and when the opportunity arises.

Likely having this Attempted Honor Murder exposed and plastered all over the Internet played a role in the POS Mother's $500K Bond, and the POS Father's re-arrested and bond set at $1M.

West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters in Borno State, as ISWAP launched a surprise assault on their positions.

According to a post by security analyst Zagazola Makama on his official X handle on Tuesday, the clash took place on March 3 in the riverine areas of Abadam Local Government Area, extending into parts of the Diffa region in Niger Republic.

Makama revealed that the violence erupted like lava from a volcano after ISWAP operatives ordered local residents to clear thick vegetation between Dabar Giwa village in Kukawa Local Government Area and Garin Mallam Ya'u.

This action unintentionally exposed the positions of Boko Haram murderous Moslems, who had been hiding in the area since February 27 in preparation for a counteroffensive against ISWAP.

''Contrary to Boko Haram's planned ambush, ISWAP launched a well-coordinated offensive, targeting krazed killer camps located between Tumbun Kwatar Mota and Tumbun Marakirya, near a former ISWAP stronghold in Tumbun Gini,'' Makama stated.

The sudden attack caught Boko Haram fighters off guard, leading to the deaths of at least 20 krazed killers.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Ra’am chief Mansour Abbas says he won’t run for Knesset beyond the next election
[IsraelTimes] Islamist party head, who was the first Arab party leader to join an Israeli ruling coalition, says it’s ‘better to come and try, [then] give an opportunity’ to others

Mansour Abbas,
...political head of the political arm of the Southern Branch of the Islamic Movement, the Muslim Brotherhood in Israel. Like Muslim Brotherhood parties elsewhere, they will ride the train down the iron rails of democratic politics and charity until the train reaches their station at the formation of the Caliphate, avoiding as much as possible all that messy bloodshed until afterward. It’s also important to check his public statements against what he says in private in Arabic, just in case taqqiya is involved...
the head of the Islamist Ra’am party who in 2021 became the first Arab Israeli party chief to join a ruling coalition, said Wednesday that he would likely run in the next Knesset elections but then quit national politics.

"Better to serve, to come and try to do things, and [then] to give an opportunity [for someone else]," he told the Knesset Channel,

The politician said that when he was first elected to the parliament, "I came in with an agenda," noting that it "evolved" over time.

"I came in with an agenda to deal with crime and violence in Arab society; it evolved into an agenda of influence and values-based civic partnership, and today you can add to that [the goal of] achieving peace and an end to the [Israeli-Paleostinian] conflict, etc.

"I have one more chance, and I’ll run — probably — in the next elections, and try to take action to realize the goals I’ve set out for myself in the coming term, and then, I don’t think I should continue to be a Knesset member," he said.

Israel is next set to hold elections in October 2026, though they could occur before then if the government collapses.

Abbas’s Islamist Ra’am party made a landmark, controversial move to join a ruling Israeli coalition — the 2021-2022 Naftali Bennett-Yair Lapid government, a diverse collection of right-wing, centrist and left-wing parties that temporarily ousted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from power after the latter led the country since 2009.

The government made major investments in the Arab Israeli sector, which has seen a deadly surge in violent mostly peaceful crime in recent years, but Bennett came under intense criticism from the right wing for partnering with an Arab faction, and members of his party ended up toppling the government after a year. Netanyahu regained power following the subsequent elections, and Ra’am was sent to the opposition.

Abbas vocally condemned the Hamas
..the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
terror group’s October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, and demanded that party MK Iman Khatib-Yasin resign following remarks she made a few weeks after the onslaught casting doubt on whether women were raped or babies killed during the onslaught (both phenomena have been documented). , Ra’am has accused Israel of committing war crimes in the enclave, and in July Abbas drew condemnation when he claimed from the Knesset rostrum that "50,000 civilians have been murdered in Gaza" — a reference, presumably, to the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry’s casualty figures, which, in addition to being disputed, do not exclude combatants, of which Israel claims to have killed some 20,000.

Fellow Arab Israeli MK Ayman Odeh, the head of the Hadash-Ta’al party, also announced in 2023 that he is set to quit politics after the next election.

Pakistan to cooperate with US on retrieval of weapons from Taliban
[KhaamaPress] Pakistain is expected to cooperate with the U.S. in efforts to retrieve weapons from the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
, as discussed in a recent conversation between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.

The Pak Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that a telephone conversation took place between Pakistain’s Deputy Prime Minister, Ishaq Dar, and U.S. National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz. During the call, both sides discussed the retrieval of U.S. weapons from the Taliban. This dialogue highlights the ongoing concern over the presence of American military equipment in Afghanistan.

According to the Pak Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the phone call took place on Tuesday, March 4. The ministry’s statement emphasized that U.S. officials expressed appreciation for Pakistain’s efforts in combating terrorism. The conversation underlined the ongoing cooperation between the two countries on counterterrorism matters.

Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistain’s desire to strengthen relations with Washington. He emphasized that Pakistain is committed to continued cooperation with the United States in the fight against terrorism, further solidifying the bilateral partnership.

In response to comments made by U.S. President Donald Trump
...The Hero of Butler, Pennsylvania...
, Ishaq Dar welcomed the President’s position on the retrieval of remaining U.S. military equipment in Afghanistan. The Pak leadership has repeatedly expressed concerns about the potential use of these weapons for attacks against Pakistain.

The conversation between high-ranking U.S. and Pak officials took place after Donald Trump had previously announced that the criminal mastermind behind the deadly Kabul airport attack had been captured with Pakistain’s cooperation. The U.S. President also expressed gratitude to Pakistain for its assistance in this operation.

Mujahid, a spokesperson for the Taliban, made a statement suggesting that Pakistain’s actions could bolster the argument that the country harbors terrorist organizations like ISIS. He criticized Pakistain for its role in handing over key figures involved in major terrorist operations, questioning the motivations behind their cooperation with the United States.

The handover has raised concerns about Pakistain’s role in regional security dynamics. While some see it as a positive step in counterterrorism efforts, others view it as evidence that Pakistain might be indirectly fostering an environment that allows holy warrior groups like ISIS to operate. This development has added further complexity to the already fragile geopolitical situation in South Asia.

U.S. Halts Financial Support for Somali Danab Commandos
[ShabelleMedia] Somalia’s Finance Minister has announced that the United States has suspended its financial support for the Danab commandos, a key force in the fight against al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
In a speech delivered to the Somali Parliament today, Minister Bihi Egeh stated that this decision will have a negative impact on the country’s financial situation. He also warned that the suspension of this support could worsen Somalia’s existing financial challenges.

Egeh emphasized the critical importance of finding alternative sources of support to continue the fight against al-Shabaab and maintain national security.

The suspension of U.S. support comes at a time when Somalia urgently needs to strengthen efforts against both al-Shabaab and ISIS. The financial strain could further exacerbate the country’s difficulties if alternative solutions are not found.

Somalia remains in a challenging financial situation, and cooperation along with comprehensive solutions are needed to reinforce both the nation’s security and economic stability.

USAID head Peter Marocco tells lawmakers he's eyeing potential criminal charges for foreign aid fraud: report
[FoxNews] Marocco has been tasked by Trump with dismantling the agency responsible for administering foreign aid

The acting head of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) told congressional lawmakers Wednesday his staff was preparing potential criminal referrals against those who misused taxpayer dollars intended for foreign development programs.

The New York Times said Peter Marocco made his remarks while speaking with members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee during a closed-door meeting.

An internal review is in its early stages, but members of Marocco's team believe they've uncovered a pattern of illegal activity at the agency, which serves as the main component used by the United States to deliver foreign aid.

Marocco has been tasked by President Donald Trump with dismantling USAID and told lawmakers he was looking at contracts and grants awarded by the agency.

Much of the money given by USAID is supposed to promote stability and economic growth and supply humanitarian assistance in fragile regions.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court denied the Trump administration's request to block a lower court's order for the administration to make nearly $2 billion in USAID payments, delivering a near-term reprieve to international aid groups and contractors seeking payment for previously completed projects.

U.S. Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., the chairman of the foreign affairs panel, told the Times USAID is structured in such a way that makes accountability difficult.

"Mr. Marocco was very clear in exposing the waste that goes on out there and in pointing out the way that many of these programs in state and USAID were designed to not be accountable," he said.

USAID was one of the first targets by the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is charged with rooting out wasteful spending.

Weld, baby, weld
[DefenseOne] President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
vowed to bring shipbuilding "home to America, where it belongs," while promising tax incentives and a brand-new office in the executive branch to reinvigorate the industry in his joint address to Congress on Tuesday.

"To boost our defense industrial base, we are also going to resurrect the American shipbuilding industry, including commercial ship building and military shipbuilding," Trump said during his nearly two-hour speech. "I'm announcing tonight that we will create a new office of shipbuilding in the White House and offer special tax incentives to bring this industry home to America, where it belongs. We used to make so many ships. We don't make them anymore very much, but we're going to make them very fast, very soon. It will have a huge impact."

Shipbuilding has emerged as a key theme for the second Trump administration. The president’s pick for Navy secretary, John Phelan, says Trump has texted him late at night about his rusty warship concerns.

The U.S. already builds ships domestically, but the number of manufacturers, shipyards, and suppliers has dwindled in recent decades—along with a skilled workforce—contributing to a significant backlog in production of warships and nuclear submarines.

Trump is hardly alone in his concern. Navalists have been sounding alarms for years, but the issue leapt to the fore in summer 2023, when a briefing slide prepared by the Office of Naval Intelligence reported that China’s shipyards can build around 232 times more tonnage than their U.S. counterparts.

#2  Shipbuilding infrastructure is not going to come back during a four year presidential term. It is a long term investment. Trump can find a way to squeeze out more production with the existing infrastructure, but investment in recreating shipyards means there has to be certainty that contracts will not dry up down the road. I would be open to seeing tarring reductions on products delivered by ship built inland flagged in the auS.

Trump moves to sell off FBI and DOJ headquarters in purge of 'non-core' government buildings
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] The Trump administration has published a list of more than 440 federal properties to be closed or sold after deeming them 'not core to government operations.'

Hours later, however, the administration issued a revised list with only 320 entries - none in Washington, D.C.

The General Services Administration, which published the list, did not explain the change and why some properties had been removed.

The initial list had included some of the country's most recognizable buildings, along with courthouses, offices and even parking garage and spanned nearly every state.

The potential sell-off appears to be part of Trump's effort to slash the size of the federal government, led by tech billionaire Elon Musk. The downsizing drive has already led to 100,000 workers taking buyouts or being fired.

Musk's Department of Government Efficiency has claimed that it has saved $105 billion so far, in part by cancelling leases on government properties. Budget experts have cast doubt on the reliability of DOGE's data.

In Washington, D.C., the list includes the Old Post Office, which formerly housed the Trump International Hotel and is newly renovated.

Sa’ar to UK counterpart: Half of Hamas budget comes from aid trucks
Good to know.
[IsraelTimes] Foreign Minister Sa’ar speaks with his British counterpart about the impasse in Israel’s ceasefire with Hamas and the reasoning behind Israel’s recent decision to block trucks carrying humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

Sa’ar writes on X that he told UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy during their call that “during the 42-day phase one, 25,000 aid trucks entered Gaza – half of Hamas’s budget in Gaza comes from these trucks! Hamas is restoring its military capabilities and recruiting new, young terrorists. This cannot continue!”

Sa’ar says he stressed to Lammy that Hamas rejected a proposal from US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to extend the temporary ceasefire through Ramadan and Passover on condition that Hamas release more hostages.

US pauses intelligence sharing with Ukraine
[IsraelTimes] The United States has "paused" intelligence sharing with Ukraine after a dramatic breakdown in relations between Kyiv and the White House, CIA director John Ratcliffe says.

US President Donald Trump
...They hit him with slander, they impeached him twice. Nancy Pelosi tore up his State of the Union address on national TV. They stole an election and put his adherents in jail. They vilified him. They couldn't crucify him, so they shot him. Still, they can't keep him down...
and Ukraine’s leader Volodymyr Zelensky had a public falling-out in the Oval Office last week, followed by Ukraine’s top ally suspending crucial US military aid.

Ratcliffe confirms that intelligence sharing had also been frozen as Ukraine seeks to beat back the Russian invasion.

"President Trump had a real question about whether President Zelensky was committed to the grinding of the peace processor," Ratcliffe tells Fox News.

Ratcliffe says the pause "on the military front and the intelligence front" was temporary, and the United States will again "work shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine."

Trump said Tuesday that Zelensky told him Kyiv was ready for talks with Moscow and the finalization of a US minerals deal, as Ukraine works to move on after the Oval Office spat.

Zelensky has sought to bring Trump back onside, posting on social media that their clash was "regrettable" and he wanted "to make things right."

In his address to US Congress later on Tuesday, Trump read aloud from a letter from Zelensky.

"The letter reads, ’Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants peace more than the Ukrainians,'" Trump told US politicians.

Scientists have recorded a powerful M-class flare on the Sun
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[Regnum] Scientists from the Institute of Applied Geophysics (IPG) recorded a powerful M-class flare on March 5 that lasted for nine minutes. This was reported by the press service of the institution.

“An M1.7 flare was recorded in the X-ray range in the sunspot group 4016 (S25E43),” the IPG website says.

Scientists assess the integrated solar activity as moderate. Also, 18 class C flares were registered in the X-ray range, and two subflares in the optical range.

Solar flares are divided into classes A, B, C, M and X depending on their power. At the lowest activity, equivalent to the radiation power in Earth orbit, they are assigned the index A0.0. The power between classes differs by a factor of 10.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on February 28 the Sun ejected the largest plasma cloud since the beginning of the year. The emission was from the side opposite to the Earth, and therefore did not pose a threat to the planet.

Solar activity can also lead to magnetic storms on Earth. The last time this phenomenon was recorded was on March 4. Its effect lasted for two days.

The past winter in Russia turned out to be the second warmest on record
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The past winter was the second warmest in Russia in the entire history of observations. This was reported on March 5 by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation Roman Vilfand.

"The average winter temperature throughout the Northern Hemisphere repeated the record set last year to within 0.1 degrees. <…> In Russia, the winter turned out to be the second warmest in the entire history of observations," the specialist noted.

He explained that in each city experts conduct their own observations, so the starting point is different for everyone, but the Hydrometeorological Center takes 1891 as the starting point.

Vilfand added that the winter of 2019–2020 came first in terms of high temperatures. Then, the average temperature was above zero, which was a completely unique phenomenon.

Earlier, meteorologists predicted a warm March in Central Russia. According to experts, it is quite possible that the weather conditions will surprise residents of other regions of the country.

On February 21, Vilfand said that in Moscow at the beginning of March the air temperature will be several degrees higher than the climatic norm . According to the specialist, no snowfall is expected during this period.

Mujahid: Kabul Airport attack mastermind’s arrest in Pakistan exposes ISIS safe havens
[KhaamaPress] Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
, reacted to statements by Pak Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and U.S. President Donald Trump
...The cad! Twice caught beating wimmin!...
regarding the arrest of the criminal mastermind behind the 2021 Kabul airport attack. He claimed that the arrest in Pakistain highlighted the existence of ISIS safe havens in the country.

In an audio message on Wednesday, March 5, Mujahid stated, "The attack at that time was carried out by ISIS. The fact that ISIS operatives are arrested in Pakistain means they have found refuge there and set up their bases. This issue does not concern Afghanistan; these dangerous groups have found shelter and training camps in certain countries."

Previously, Prime Minister Sharif had claimed that the criminal mastermind behind the Kabul airport attack, who was arrested by Pak forces, was a member of ISIS-Khorasan and an Afghan citizen.

U.S. President Donald Trump also confirmed in a speech to Congress that the criminal mastermind behind the Kabul attack was arrested in cooperation with Pakistain and was being transferred to the United States. This attack is considered one of the bloodiest during the final stages of the U.S. military presence in Afghanistan.

The Kabul airport bombing, which took place during the chaotic withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, resulted in the deaths of 13 U.S. service members. ISIS grabbed credit for the attack, stating that an individual named "Abdul Rahman Pashtun-infested Logari" managed to bypass security measures and carried out the suicide kaboom near U.S. forces.

The statements by Mujahid highlight the ongoing issue of ISIS activities in the region and the shifting dynamics of terrorist groups operating between Afghanistan and Pakistain. The arrest of the criminal mastermind raises further questions about the extent of ISIS’s presence and operational bases in Pakistain, complicating regional security efforts.
