#2 secondly Turkey is on the side of sunni Islamofascism as Erdogan has repeatedly sided with Islamic State, supported the Caliphate and sold its oil

and the reason is, Erdogan wants a return of the Caliphate just with Ankara as the capital as it was under the Ottomans

so he wants to support and co-opt Islamic State.

He also loves Islamic State as they are fighting Assad whom he hates because he's an alawite and therefore "not a real muslim"

and because they are fighting the kurds who he hates as he doesn't want them to get a homeland on his border

so Islamic State are BFFs with Erdogan

so why is Erdogan's turkey still in NATO?

Because NATO is irrelevant. NATO was set up to confront the Evil Empire of communism which fell

Now the enemy is Islamism

and now Turkey is no longer our ally against the commies, they are our enemy in our new fight

anon1's sentence is confusing as written, chris. The first two times she uses "he" it refers to Erdogan; the third "he" is Assad.

Sultan Recip I "the much beloved" is a Sufi Sunni, according to Wikipedia. Bashar al Assad is indeed Alawite, a Shiite heresy.
