#3 ...It would be nice if the decision has already been quietly made that anything they launch will be blown out of the sky. On the other hand, if we do, I am sure the Norks will insist the missile was carrying nuns and orphans on a day trip to a petting zoo.

#4 Threats are just negotiations. An actual launch would pooch any chance of a deal. We've seen that Trump cares more about results than glowing PR moments and tongue baths from the press (yeah, like *that* could happen!) It would be a mistake for Pudge to misunderestimate him.

#5 The US won't chance a failure of BMD on a non hostile launch. It would make a nice example if it worked, but the downside of a failure is too big to ignore.
