#1 Why don't I feel sorry for the man who got his head stomped ?
Is it lack of empathy on my part? Is it because I was raised in a desert community in Death Valley between Yuma and El Centro with only buzzards to play with?

The Cop was just doing his job, and seemed like a good Cop to me. Besides who are we to judge? Selling drugs and attempting to escape...seems like he was encouraging a little "hard love" there, from Sergeant O'Flaherty.

You should be a little more understanding about what a Cop's job really means on a day to day basis. Society pays them real money to do these things so decent citizens don't have to do it ourselves. How else is your mother going to get to work?

You also swam in the irrigation canals, Hemingway. In your underwear. So, you had that going for you.

#4 Easy enough to see the rookie having trouble securing the suspect and the second fellow attempting the difficult 'neck pirouette'.

True, the real Death Valley is a few hundred miles north of Imperial County. But to be fair to our Writer-in-Residence, it's still pretty desolate.
