#1 AG Cooper is a democrat? Does that make any difference?

The Motor-Voter Law was passed under Clinton and was a way to get more voters onto the democratic rolls without much voter scrutiny. Maybe it is time to think about repealing this Federal law?

#2 The time will be in January 2011, John, but you can bet Bambi would veto it, and lie about why (the 'why' being, as you said, the Dems want more voters for themselves).

Even when the law was passed, I didn't like it. I'm of the opinion that if you're really interested in voting, you can get off you ass and go register. It wasn't that hard. Registration station were set up at supermarkets, the library, etc., near to election time when most people might have it on their radar.

My mom was a registrar for a while; people could come to our house (with an appointment), including on weekends, to register. If someone was disabled and it was hard for them to get there, she'd go to them. It just wasn't that hard to register to vote before the Motor-Voter law was passed (unless of course you were an illegal alien, or dead, and a therefore a shoo-in to vote Dem).

#4 Ditto Barb.

Not only should they have to show proof of citizenship - but they should also be *required* to re-register every 4 years - in person - with positive proof of Identity and citizenship. For the disabled people can make house calls.

And yes - this includes the homeless.
