#1 Well if she was evading paying taxes, it must mean that she was making more money off her 'noble fight for climate justice' than she could hide.

We could learn something from this, but probably won't.

#3 I wonder if the Central Committee™ suddenly discovered that Free Money™ in the form of First World Climate Payola -- wasn't happening. ...and cheap windmills, PV cells and other "green stuff" wasn't coming from China any more.

Basically there is no Magic Unicorn and somebody is going to pay for the scam.

#4 ^ Probably too much to hope for, but there's always an outside possibility that some of them (younger ones) realize that they are screwed if the whole thing is run into the ground before they are set to retire.

#5 Tax evasion as in not paying the taxes, or as in not paying the correct bribes? (Although it amounts to the same thing.)
