#1 No need to worry here. With electronic currency the EV attitude will be applied. Every purchase will be approved. Every trip will be pre-planned and authorized. You want to purchase anything for example you will scrutinized. Your LDL is too high you can't have that. You are allowed three potato chips with your four insects. Your alarm wakes you up and you are directed to walk three miles to begin your day. You have sat too long at your computer and it shuts off. Then at a moment of desire you are directed to avoid such activity. Snack and die early doesn't sound so bad.

#2 Maybe if individual people were taught impulse control, delayed gratification and personal responsibility, there would be no need for an external, gummint-imposed framework of lifestyle micromanagement.

But, where's the graft in that? And it would be rayciss...

#4 some of which I couldn’t pronounce

There is no trope more annoying than "I can't pronounce it, it must be bad". Look at the chemical breakdown of what's in an "organjc" tomato someday -- plenty of "unpronounceable" chemicals in there.

(And when did "conservatives" become the health cops? The other side of liberty is minding your own business.)

#5 I hadn't seen the anti-vaccination and anti-electricity parts of the rant. What a load of horseshit.

#6 Note well, we have lived in a very narrow and unique period of human history when food was both readily available and accessible. This condition has lasted more than two or three generations now. The human body has evolved over thousands of years and its adaptation doesn't move that fast. The Navajo have been the canary in the cage in this case and its manifestation is now appearing in the population as a whole. Up till recently they survived in a very barren environment. Their bodies were adapted to extract every possible nutrient out of any food they could get. Now they suffer in general with diabetes and obesity. Two reasons they suffered disproportionately in the initial COVID wave.

Given the incompetency rampant in government these days, it looks like the rest of us are about to return to more basic dietary menus.

#9 Your LDL is too high you can't have that.

That's what they told me. It put the fear in me so I decided that I really can get by without it.

Same with native Hawaiians. Mac and cheese and SPAM were not good for them.

#13 If you tend towards weight gain, your metabolism is almost fiendish in its ability to hoard calories as fat. I know this from a lifetime dealing with it firsthand.

#14 Oh, and I forgot to add, part of that fiendishness is the metabolism's ability to adjust like a hall of fame cornerback as you try to refine your diet.

#15 Never overlook your gut ecology...

My diet was 'okay' until I had a deep puncture wound and had to take a course of full spectrum antibiotics. *Presto* A set of gut bacteria that had spent decades optimizing for my preferred diet and lifestyle were replaced by a "one size fits all" set of probiotics they provided ... which were followed by a more extensive set I bought at my favorite health foods store.

#16 Alas, my gut microbes are limited to the ones that can stand up to Wild Turkey 101.
