#2 Looking at Iran's word and deeds since 1979, objectively Iran is a mortal enemy of the US and all Western nations.

Iran doesn't want war, Iran wants to transform the entire world into an Islamic slave empire, which would necessitate the elimination of any non-Islamic polity.

Specifically, for years, Iranian regime elements residing in the US have been openly calling for the abolition of the free and open political system of the US.

Even though the Soviet Union's official (insincere) doctrine for Soviet-Western relations had been "Peaceful Coexistence" since Khrushchev the Soviet threat was still correctly recognized.

Iran hasn't accepted coexistence since 1979.

The choice for Western nations is appeasement and submission or war, symmetrical or asymmetrical.

Vance should be asked if he would subjugate US residents to elements of Sharia law in order to temporarily avoid conflict with Iran.

#1 is the USA
#2 is Iran
But the USA claim to be revolutionary for human freedom
Iran is for Alan to be the only god permitted for all with the top Shia in Iran the only spokesman for Alan.
