#1 So the very same people who hate Joooos also hate Brits. The implications of that are huge, if one dares to consider them.

It's the bankrupt culture and religion of islam that spawns murder and atrocity.

Not the Jews. Not the west.

The left won't make the connection. They can't. It would mean having to rethink the carnage they've condoned in Israel. They're too invested in believing the paleos are the poor, helpless victims of Israeli oppression. Rethinking that notion would force them to conclude something significantly different. And it would destroy their world view -- of "poor" muslims, of "aggressive" Joooos, and of what's right and wrong in the war on terror.

I assume, though, they will once again rationalize, minimalize and deflect such connections. Why should this attack on the west by islamic terrorists be different?

#4 One of the positive spin-offs of the bombings, especially now the boomers seem to have been positively identified as suicide bombers, is the effect this will have on all those arseholes and fuckwits who have spent the past five years or so condoning or excusing exactly the same actions taking place in Israel. The fact that one bomb went off on a London bus just adds irony. I'm assuming a lot of (sometimes unwitting political fashion-victim) anti-Semites are waking up to the contemptible hypocrisy of their previous stance.

They won't "wake up" to their hypocrisy. If they did, their world would come crashing down. So, they'll split hairs, rationalize, deflect and otherwise explain away how Israel's situation is different from the one in England. Or they'll explain why the UK deserved it. Or they'll help you understand that these "terrorists" are depraved, while the "militants" in Israel are oppressed.

You're asking them to admit they are wrong -- to admit that ANY suicide bombings are unacceptable. And they can't get there from here. They've already become comfortable with believing that there are good reasons to kill innocent civilians, and they can't undo that.

The psychological term for it is "cognitive dissonance." I tend to think of them simply as weak minded sheep.

#6 The hard core won't admit they're wrong but some of the sheep who have followed them without thinking for themselves will start to realise what idiots they've been. It's easy to underestimate the number of people who chose to adopt their politics according to what's considered fashionable. The alluring moral equivalence mannequin suddenly has no clothes (perhaps they've been blown off).
