#3 There were 3 churches in Santa Cruz, CA defaced last weekend. Didn't hear about that in the news did you. Course if a mosque is defaced, it is international news and cause for a seeting mob.

#5 "Several hundred Palestinians gathered in the West Bank villages of Nebi Elias, Azun and Punduk to protest the spraying of an anti-Muhammad graffiti on the wall of a local mosque early Sunday.

The Palestinians are torching tires and throwing stones at Israeli vehicles. One Israeli woman was injured and four others suffered anxiety as a result of the incident.

Palestinians also hurled cinder blocks at an IDF force in the village of Azun. Soldiers responded with fire. Three Palestinians were hurt and evacuated by Red Crescent ambulances."

AND THEN THE ACTION THAT DIDN'T OCCUR TO SEVERAL HUNDRED PALEOS TO DO THEMSELVES:

"Representatives of the Civil Authority and the IDF who were summoned to the scene promptly apologized for the incident and erased the graffiti."

You're not likely to hear much about Santa Cruz, period. :)

If it weren't for UC's campus there and the Boardwalk, it would be just another sleepy little coastal town, like Watsonville.

#9 My little sister is studying for her PhD in Santa Cruz. She loves it -- says the people have so much pride that they march or go on strike whenever they feel their rights are violated, so there are an awful lot of marches, and lots of big puppets.
