#2 Re the June 14 attack: the IDF referred to a strike near an electric capacitance station which holds the bulk of Israel's power needs. The report indicated that poisonous "ammonia" based compounds are stored there for use in the process. A successful massive bombardment, would potentially kill thousands of Israelis and leave the country without a secure power source. At least one connected Israeli blogger advises that, the Ashkelon power facility "will not be rebuilt until Israel's enemies are destroyed." In fact, with the Gaza terror structure intact, re-building the facility would only set it up for repeat destruction.

It is my belief that Israel would exercise the "Sampson Opton" in Gaza and elsewhere, if the country's power capacity faced permanent disability. Who knows what would be the consequence of same, should Israel do so without a single reliable foreign ally?
