#6 "It speaks volumes that the Egyptians simply didn't begin hosing down the assembling crowd with automatic gunfire. Their hatred of the Jews blinds them to even their own national security. "

Without denying that Jewhatred probably exists in Egypts security services, I could come up with several reasons for them not mowing down the Hamasniks

1. Fear of a revolution by the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt
2. Incompetence
3. Cowardice
4. A preference that Hamas and Fatah kill each other off
5. Attempts to maintain influence as "honest broker"
6. Bribery
7. Appeasing KSA (see 6)

#7 Anyway, isnt the egyptian side of the border desert, or surrounded by desert? Its not like it would be that easy for anyone from Gaza to sneak into El Arish, let alone across the Canal. And the boomers in Sinai seem to be locals - sure it wouldnt be GREAT to have them have easy contact with Gaza, but its not a threat to Cairo the way that Gaza access to Israel is a threat.

Which is something that really needs to change. Egypt's flaccid opposition to terrorist operations needs to carry a much bigger price tag. I was more than amused to see hints tossed out that Israel's Sampson Option might include some European targets (with a big nudge, nudge to all the folks at home in France). Somehow, Egypt needs to be given a dose of salts regarding exactly what their continued complicity with Palestinian terror operations will reap for them. I'm especially disappointed that our own government does not do more to make Egypt feel Israel's pain.

Egypt is waiting for another round of dhimmi carter negotiations which amounts to nothing more than protection money paid by the USA taxpayer for the right not to have their ass handed to them by Israel.

It's really not that difficult to see why countries like to create problems for America. We pay them off to behave. It's like giving candy to a three year old so that he'll stop crying. There's no surer way to get a three year old to cry.

Hamas gunmen go on rampage injuring 13 and killing one

At least 13 Palestinians, including son of Palestinian PM and his political adviser were wounded and one of his bodyguards was killed Thursday at Gaza's Rafah border crossing after Hamas gunmen went on a rampage waiting for prime minister Ismail Haniya to cross back into the strip after being detained by an Israeli closure.

Good point, L Ddub. I refer you to, "The Mouse That Roared".
