Or less, depending upon how well we respond to the rising threat of Islam. More than any other thing, I think that Bush's legacy will depend upon his resolve to dismantle Iran's nuclear weapons program. Sadly, no incoming candidate exhibits any noticeable determination to do so. Therefore—fairly or not—this pivotal turning point in the Global War on Terrorism will be seen as hinging upon Bush's action or inaction. Should Bush have the courage to take Iran down, it would only require a decade or two—at most—for his legacy to acquire a deserving luster.
