#3 This award is like a one-week on the job high school student employee getting the Employee of the Month Award and the CEO says the kid came up with some ideas yet implemented but may show results and everyone in the company asks WTF and becomes alienated and resentful. Using the Noble's reasoning, let's give the award for physics to a person who says that they will make gasoline out of water.

#6 Congratulations to PRESIDENT OBAMA on his Nobel prize. The rest of the world world is realizing the enormous change possible now that the previous regime has been repudiated. This award is a vote of confidence and support for his efforts.

#9 The Nobel Committee isn't channeling divine wisdom. Its just a group of five ordinary, more of less leftist ~~seedy~~ politicians from Norway.

Here's the chairman of the committee, playing the joker on Norwegian tv:

The committee's moral authority derives from the sound and reasonable decisions they make.

If they make unreasonable decisions they consequentially lose that authority.
