#1 In which Harry Reid decides that since it's an election year maybe he's against building a mosque within spitting distance of the site of the WTC.

A nice safe thing to say. That won't cost him any votes. And about which he'll have to do nothing. Why not?

#2 Reid and the rest of the senior Dem leadership weren't told in advance what Obama was going to say in his speech (Bloomberg did, curiously enough).

So part of it may be pique.
