#1 "We have also seized some legs and parts of two heads, we think."

#2 I remember a while back when there was some debate about US enemy casualty claims, because of the remarkable coincidence of exactly the same number of enemy killed in maybe eight or ten attacks, over a several week period.

I mention this because I've noticed the number 28 enemy killed keeps showing up in recent weeks.

#4 Notice they say "cut-throats" and "beturbanned goons"...while our media is calling them "insurgents"...

The power of mind control!

Yes, the "war on terror" is over, except for those getting their throats cut...

#6 BCS: Actually, I think it is pretty obvious. When you drop some serious ordnance on a bunch of them, it sounds pretty lame, if accurate, to say, "I don't know, a bunch of them."

It's just easier to pick a number out of a hat. It's not like anybody is going to miss them, nor is anybody going to bother picking up the pieces of their sweet, shattered dreams, as it were.

Practically speaking, I can imagine some of the rats of Afghanistan have developed a Pavlovian response to the sound of a Reaper. First they run away from any humans, then they start drooling with the anticipation of getting a hot meal.

#7 I wonder if the troops carrying that spiffy new weapon are issued 28 rounds.

If they run away from the terrorists, then have one buzz the village and have other Reapers bomb wherever they are running from.
