#1 You can't have the richest nations producing less CO2 than the poor? How the hell are the other nations going to steal all their money!?!?!

#2 I'll tell you how they will handle it, they will ignore it. Business as usual. The media is doing it now. This is a new religion of modern mankind. It's what they believe not what actually is. You will not turn them with words that don't support their beliefs.

In this morning's paper, FYI: Global warming skeptic changes his mind.

#5 Something else for the IPCC to ignore at the upcoming climate conference in Durban, SA.

Anyone who brings this up (or anything else, like the decade-long stall in global warming) is a racist.

#6 Astonishing story?

Maybe "astonishing" doesn't mean what I think it means.

#7 ANd it turns out that the big story of last week is the usual schtuff, the data never says what the Big Page 1 Press Release says it did.

#8 Hogwash! Next thing those silly deniers will do is claim that the Earth revolves around the sun or that the earth is round like a ball.

#9 If it was round like a ball.. why, we would all fall off!

So that is clearly false! The Science is Settled!

The earth is Flat!

#10 Curry said that Muller et al "are not hiding any data or otherwise engaging in any scientifically questionable practice." Contrast that with East Anglia, mentioned briefly in paragraph 2.

And, of course, the first paragraph and the headline proclaim that the Skeptic says the Global Warming true believers were right all along. The spinners are at it again.

It will be interesting to see what peer review concludes about these two reports. It will also be interesting to see whether true believers on all sides of the issue can put their war drums aside for a few minutes and actually read the data with open minds.

BTW, don't take what the news media say about the report as fact. My husband, a scientist, has not in over 30 years read a general news media article--about his field or any other field he's familiar with-- in which the popular media had any grasp of what the scientists were actually saying.

#11 China/manchuria is a polluter, sure, but India is neutral? Also note the mais in large, rectangular areas, and there is no differentiation within the rectangles, suggesting the 'resolution' is pretty gross.

But, hey! I'm just a civil engineer, not a global warming expert!

#13 96% of CO2 emissions are from natural sources so this is unsurprising.
