#5 Not very unusual when over 28% of the population of Canada has a French ancestry and hence French names.

Unless, of course, you know nothing about Canada, in which case it becomes an unusual name.

#6 Perhaps because nearly every 'Canadian' that comes into the news from the Islamic part of the world tends not to be a 'Jean Francois'?

(then again, one could say the same about the media identifying citizens from other Western nations as well...)
