#3 I suppose the report about the repulsive nature of the nature of Afghans is a step forward. It explains the dislike of Afghans by Americans pretty well. Presumably the shootings are a reaction to the sense of being unliked, huh?
Crap.
However, somebody noted a couple of years ago wrt Iraq...note the number--very low--of "war brides".
The troops must be seeing something either not obvious to those not there, or so obvious those not there overlook it.

Guys were a bit busy at the time unlike garrison duty elsewhere. They were not billeted among the general population. Very few 'safe' places to mingle. New laws and regulations in place. Did you know if you marry a foreign bride now, you are financially responsible for her for ten years whether the marriage lasts two years or the ten and beyond?

#8 Proc - that's the standard 'Affidavit of Support' anyone who wishes to bring over a foreign fiancee or spouse has to agree to. I believe 'relative' immigration visa's have a similar requirement.
In addition you need to inform Immigration if you move your residence and give them your new address.
I had to sign such a paper when I brought over my Fiancee. The obligation ended when she became a U.S. Citizen.
Meanwhile Obumbles is illegally granting amnesty to illegal aliens and not bothering to track them and fighting like hell to prevent any ID requirements to vote.

#10 Sounds like the higher-ups are getting "touchy feely" about the enemy. If our soldiers on the ground hate the culture because it consists of unchanging 7th century barbarians, that is pretty understandable.
