#4 some people estimate the leaks are actually meant to embarrass the administration and come from those who are in favor of Western military intervention in Syria and from Republicans looking to attack the B.O. regime

Considering that the administration has tightened its control over the Pentagon in the past two years, it's just as likely that the leaks are intended to deflect and distract the Syrian issue onto the Israelis.
