#1 So that's the way it happens. "There are about 6.5 million internally displaced people or IDPs out of Syria and about 400,000 out of Iraq." It would seem that there are enough displaced people, that they could take their countries back from the thugs who are currently occupying them. Canada has no obligation to take 10,000 Syrian refugees into their country.

#3 I wonder how many of these 10K are Syrian Christians who are escaping with their lives? I would be OK with them getting asylum
