#2 Iran is having trouble supporting both the deployment in Syria and the one in Iraq. Hezbollah is starting to worry that its losses in Syria are weakening its ability to retain domination of Lebanon. Thus Russia becomes more and more necessary to deploy assets in Syria to save the Assad regime.

#4 Lord Garth: Iran is over-extended and is having trouble supporting not only the activity in Syria and Iraq but in Yemen, Bahrain and the Eastern province of Saudi Arabia. Thus, the Russian card is played.
