#1 How many American citizens even realize the U.S. military now occupies most of the eastern third of Syria?

#2 The tradeoff: Trade the Euphrates River region in return for the Hasakah province of easternmost Syria presently under control of the indigenous Kurds. How to set up a Kurdistan that would include parts of Iraq and Syria. A polity that could survive political and military attacks by Iraq and Syria and thus offer the US a safe base of operation to go along with Israel.

#3 I believe that an independent Kurdistan would start another Arab war much like the 1948 Arab-Israeli war.

I also believe it is a great idea and would put a stable wedge between Iran and Turkey as well as between Syria, Lebanon, and Iran.
