#1 According to USA: "A special election to fill Hill’s seat cannot be set by Gov. Gavin Newsom until she officially leaves Congress, which she has not done. It’s possible there is no special election, depending on how long she waits to leave office. That would make the next election for the seat in November 2020."

There are three Republicans and one Democrat who have filed for Hill's seat. How does CA handle this in a special election or the general election? Is there going to be a risk of splitting the Pub vote with 3 Pub candidates; thus insuring the Dem will win?

#2 Rest assured that Newsom and Hill will consult with each other to determine the time that will be most advantageous for Democrats and most disadvantageous for Republicans.
