#1 The interesting thing is that the last time the plague came to Europe their knowledge of fleas, rats, and humans, let along disease pathologies, lacked an awareness that gave them so much grief and death. Today, its not a lack of awareness as much plain outright incompetence of the ruling class which is more interested in virtue flashing their own group and then security and safety of their populations. None the less, grief and death is what they get.
