Only one side to this debate in the US made it political. There's nothing political at all about the approach that the Governor of Florida took, or the approach recommended by Trump's hire, Dr. Scott Atlas.

It was the Democrats and their incompetent governors who distorted and exploited this thing at every step of the way. From Pelosi first telling people to ignore the news and go visit SF's Chinatown to blaming Trymp for literally everything. From masks-irrelevant-no-wait, they're essential, hey why not two masks. From Cuomo demanding a floating Navy hospital from Trump to ignoring it and sending infected elders back into nursing homes where thousands more died as a result of his criminal negligence.

And Democrat governors and mayors everywhere saying do as I say, not as I do, flouting their own shelter-in-place dictates, shutting down and destroying millions of small businesses, all the while telling Antifa and BLM thugs that their bullshit 'peaceful protests' need not obey the shelter in place rules.

#7 As COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions have trapped people in their homes over the last year, many have gained weight. A new American Psychological Association survey showed that 42% gained weight over the last year, an average of 29 pounds.

Seems excessive, but we also didn't lock ourselves in our closet for a year.

Then again, the 'Freshman 15', that first year of college when healthy 18 year olds would gain around 15lbs because of lifestyle change of study over activity was a real thing.

Correlation between Covid deaths and obesity is a new topic without much data. The health impact of obesity is well documented from heat disease, diabetes, skeletal stress, mental stress, and limitation to physical locomotion.

So I ask, how do you factor these short, medium, and long term health affects into Cost of Lockdown?

Point of Order: Government decisions, legal or illegal, voted or dictated, are by definition 'Politics'.

#9 I know a couple who are even outside the 'Obesity is Beautiful' bracket who caught the wuhan, and they made it through fine, so...well, other than disrupting what limited physical activity they were already doing.
