That control, such as it was, was based on "consent of the governed." If it's now something that has been stolen and is held by a cabal, they have to work 24-7 to keep it. That gets tiring over time. Who thinks they won't wind up having their own Rowsenbergs, Ames, Hannsson and so on? And remember, those were just the ones that were caught...

#9 Well, it (compliance) is a spectrum. Some of us really don't have anyone else to protect and don't gain much from a low profile. Others do. Again, I would not second guess their choices. As I'd expect them not to second guess mine.
