Pro-Kremlin newspaper Pravda was reportedly hacked when it posted large casualty numbers for Russian troops in Ukraine.

A story featured on the website reported that the Russian military has seen 9,861 people killed and 16,153 wounded during its invasion of Ukraine, but the outlet quickly deleted the figured and later claimed they were posted a result of hacking.

It is not clear the source of the numbers that were posted, with Russia having not released a figure since acknowledging that 498 of their forces had been killed during what they continue to call a "special operation in Ukraine."
