#2 For someone roughly the same age as I am he's in much better shape. He has served in the regular army, the army reserve, and the air force reserve, under the latter of which he served at least one tour in Iraq in the late unpleasantness.

Maybe I am too cynical, but when I read of incidents like this, my first thought is "What was in the parking lot? What was next door? Was anyone firing from an upper window?" Doesn't matter which side or which war. Battles are fought nowadays in the media as well as on the field. Don't get me started on the Paleos!
