#1 Being a lifer, I’m in a unique position...

His words lead me to believe he is adequately reformed now and doesn't need to serve the rest of his sentence. We however need him outside, ASAP. Maybe as school guard.

#3 So, a truly humane justice system would just execute kiddie diddlers quickly rather than make them look over their shoulders until justice finally comes.

OTOH, it's probably a great pressure relief valve for the rest of the inmates.

#6 Nearly 200 years ago Stendahl wrote that in a certain type of bourgeois society the only distinction which could be genuinely earned was the death penalty. I guess being an advanced society we will have to make do with Life(r).
