As it was already in plentiful supply and far less expensive to India citizens

Note: India has 320.13% more population than the USA.

COVID-19 INFECTIONS
USA ------> 101,213,638 (30.23% of population)
INDIA ------> 44,675,509 (03.17% of population)

COVID-19 DEATHS FROM INFECTION
USA ----> 1,109,394 (1.09%
INDIA ----> 530,653 (1.18%)

NOTE: We also know India has a healthcare system far----> far worse than the USA.

India has a LPI 2020 Ranking: 101
USA has a LPI 2020 Ranking: 18
Which might explain the 0.09% higher death rate for INDIA.
