#1 Photo if Prigozhin and mercs in one of the salt mines. Must feel pretty safe for a photo op and have a good part of town under Russian control. Mines are in southern arc of city. VDV (airborne) attempting to encircle Ukrainians from north and south.

Fog of War, 72 hour rule for me. But it shows how the battle for Soledar is leaning.

Do the people who riff on russia's strategy, do any of them argue that Ukrainians are master strategists? Or is the answer simply known and just not discussed? I dont see them arguing the former, so I accept the later.

#5 The discussions I see of Ukrainian battlefield strategy almost all seem to come from (well-intentioned) outsiders who aren't aware of actual planning. The limited amount of official info at that level needs to be regarded as possible disinfo. Example: Uke MoD recently said roughly "next counter-offensive is in March". I'd take that with a giant grain of (Soledar) salt, and expect it anytime but March.
