Cowboy coffee style for the win!

#3 I refuse to use any kind of straw. Too much of a phallic symbol for my taste.

#4 Shrugged the shrink, "I can see why you thunk
That a straw might be somebody's junk,
But at last you are cured,
Now you're broke, reassured
It's a shrunken bull elephant's trunk.
Or possibly an Amazon's blowpipe. Or that garden hose you drank from in first grade before noticing the yard was full of giant turds... and a Great Dane staring at you... while licking itself." [flips "Doctor is IN" sign]

#5 Present? Ok, but is it at a meaningful level — that is to say high enough to actually have a health impact given the amount that would enter the fluid in the usual time a portion is drunk?

Usually with these kinds of studies they are able to measure the presence of the chemical, but at a level so low as to be meaningless. When the article says nothing about the level detected, that’s a hint that the joirnalist — and/or the scientist — is going for a dramatic panic rather than a reasonable scientific conclusion. Remember the Covid testing that drove the extended lockdowns?

As for me, I’ll continue using disposable plastic straws because I haven’t the energy to properly clean reusable straws after each use, and I loathe how paper straws fall apart in the mouth during use.

#6 Modern Paper Techniques. No thanks.
Chinese Paper Techniques.

I refuse to use any kind of straw. Too much of a phallic symbol for my taste.

Yes, and I did that one time too many, when I discovered the glass bottle was just being re-used with the bottle-cap just being re-used. Bottle lip had crust.

#7 And then there's coffee filter phobia. Last several purchases (roughly annual) followed the familiar curve toward smaller, shabbier, pricier. Recent batch (Walmart-skinsuited name brand) are thin but durable, fraction of previous unit cost... triggering worry about how that's possible. Dilution solution? Nervous "heh."

#8 Don't know about harmful chemicals but the one I was given a week ago while bying a soda (our monkeys always imitate yours) became soggy and folded flat.
