#1 With the population discrepancy, Ukraine would need to inflict 5-1 casualties to the Russians. Best estimates I have seen is 3-1 to 4-1. Over the very long term that is a loss for Ukraine. But, they have a chance with the supply and reinforcement interdiction in the south. If they punch though, they can make the Russians give up or collapse.

Either way, a long term grinding war will see Ukraine lose. And they know this, which is why you see strikes in Moscow and Crimea.

You'll see Russia break up long before either side runs out of men. There are 200 conquered ethnicities in Russia, nearly 100 officially recognized. Most of them don't appreciate seeing their men killed way out of proportion to ethnic Russians for some kind of Muscovite glory. That is if rival Moscow and St Pete power tribes don't dethrone Putin first.

#4 Russian has been doing a stealth mobilization of central Asians in Moscow and St Pete. Companies, usually construction, have been assigned quotas to get their often illegal Muslim workers to sign a military contract. In addition, those dumb enough to accept legal residency or Russian citizenship were being drafted to replace casualties in Ukraine. This has now spread to other cities.
