#1 ...This whole thing is a bit...odd. The Somalis, okay - a lot of the old pirate clans have gone merc over the last few years, and they're pretty popular with the Iranians and the Houthis. After all, they don't ask much, they don't eat much, and Lord knows they're as batshiat crazy as anybody you could ask for in that part of the world. It's reasonable that they might have been working for the Houthis - after all, it saves Houthis and throws in a bit of deniability.

Which was promptly thrown out the window when the Houthis lobbed those two IRBMs at the Central Park. The Chinese and the Russians maybe got tech that could do it, the Iranians who built those things not so much. (And it's interesting that Mason was able to hold fire, knowing that the missiles would, well, miss.)

Heh. Mason is a Burke-class destroyer and carries a couple a couple helicopters as part of the normal order business. So in the stupidest possible sense, being a carrier of aircraft makes her an aircraft carrier, yes no? Aw, forget it it, Jake. They're journalists.
