#2 The names were fine from WW1 to Desert Storm to recruit young white southerns to die for their country.

#3 While "liberation of the oppressed" is a common theme, wars appear to be all about control. Our nation's 1861-1865 war experience was likely much the same.

#4 Camp Gordon, near Augusta, the WW II training camp for the 4th and 26th Infantry Divisions, as well as the adjoining 10th Armored Division camp area, (Range 16 and Union Mill Pond area) that trained those that fought under Gen. Patton in Europe.

Having been born at 1941+ Camp Gordon, Augusta GA., and not the 1914-1921 Atlanta area version.
Yes, there were 2 Camp Gordon's

I can say honestly say a vast overwhelming majority of Augustans, of any color, had no problems with the GORDON name.
This renaming was just another (DNC) effort stunt to drive another COLOR Deflection knife into the mix and etc.

Besides, there are some old and conveniently buried historical records that call for some remote parts of Augusta Camp/Ft. Gordon
and the other outlaying former Camp (WWII 10th armor used area), adjoining it also. To revert to the public lands, if those
camps no longer existed.

Renaming Camp/Ft. Gordon it could be argued, it no longer exists beyond the NSA site area and the unused lands should be
return to GA as public use and local TAX roles.

Just like the original Camp Gordon Chamblee, GA site was done, when it was abandoned in September 1921.
