Man from Northern Ireland is charged with manslaughter in connection with deaths of 39 migrants found in a refrigerated lorry in Essex

Ronan Hughes, of Co Armagh in Northern Ireland charged with manslaughter

He was charged with 39 counts of manslaughter, as well as immigration offences

The 40-year-old arrested today and is due to appear at Dublin's High Court

The 39 Vietnamese nationals were found in a lorry container in Grays, Essex 23 October 2019

Others arrested:

Eamonn Harrison, 22, of Mayobridge, Northern Ireland

Gazmir Nuzi, 42, of Tottenham, north London, arrested in the capital last Friday

Gheorghe Nica, 43, of Langdon Hills, Essex, arrested in Frankfurt Airport in January

Last week Maurice Robinson, 25, from Craigavon, Co Amragh, pleaded guilty to 39 counts of manslaughter at the Old Bailey

#8 No, he's right. I stand corrected.

I was talking about the driver. The driver arrested back then was this Mo Robinson chap, who said he was just driving them; looked very shocked in the pic, as if he was just discovering his dead cargo too.

Manslaughter is correct for them. I suppose the courts got lucky these poor Vietnamese died, or it would have simply been an immigration racket charge and they'd all be doing this again.
