|
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] - Motorists honked their horns as they lined up on East End Avenue just outside Gracie Mansion on New York's Upper East Side late on Monday
- Protesters were angry over Mayor Bill de Blasio's inaction in face of widespread use of illegal fireworks across the five boroughs in recent weeks
- Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams told residents to not call 311 or 911 about complaints over illegal fireworks in New York City

- More than 1,700 complaints were recorded in the first half of June alone - 80 times as many as it recorded last year at the same time
- Adams said police should focus on stopping the flow of illegal fireworks into New York City
- Similar complaints have been made across the country in cities like Philadelphia, Las Vegas and places in California's Bay Area
