#6 There's a lot of plain old denial going on in the City. We have family/friends who continue to travel downtown for one reason or another. To my knowledge, none of them go "shopping the Mag Mile" any longer, so they've figured that much out. But when we say something blunt like, "We don't go into the City any more" friends/family often get that blank stare that translates into something like "I don't know what you mean." They know about the problem, they have to, but don't want to acknowledge to it openly.
