Afghanistan
33 Insurgents Killed in Warduj
[Tolo News] According to Lal Mohammad Ahmadzai, front man to the Badakhshan police chief, more than 33 Taliban, including foreigners, have been killed in ongoing festivities between Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) and the Taliban in Warduj district of Badakhshan province. Ahmadzai asserted that the ANSF have destroyed all krazed killer safe-havens in the district.

More than 300 Taliban faceless myrmidons attacked police outposts in Warduj earlier this week, killing four coppers and taking few others captive. Additional troops were deployed to the area for support and backup.

Meanwhile,
...back at the the conspirators' cleverly concealed hideout Montefiore's foot was still stuck and the hound had completely soaked his uniform with slobber...
Badakhshan's neighboring province, Kunduz, also witnessed major festivities between the Taliban and the ANSF on Monday of the same week. According to reports, the Taliban have taken control of 30 villages in Kunduz, including Gor Tapa and Imam Saheb.

The Taliban have grabbed credit for the attacks on Warduj, saying that a number of ANSF soldiers have been killed in the attack.

Afghan Forces Clash With Militants in Nine Provinces
[Tolo News] Across nine provinces, Afghan cops clashed with krazed killers, and according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), in the past 24 hours alone, 42 murderous Moslems been killed and 51 maimed.

Officials confirmed the arrests of 10 other fighters, as well as the deaths of eight members of the Afghan National Police (ANP).

Insurgent violence has increased in many parts of the country, just as the new national unity government heads into its third month in office and then not long after the withdraw of foreign troops.

On Thursday, serious festivities occurred between Afghan forces and murderous Moslems in Badakhshan, Kunduz, Kandahar, Ghazni, Paktia, Ghoar and Faryab provinces.

In northern Badakhshan, the Afghan military was forced to abandon an attempt to rescue soldiers that had been captured by anti-government fighters.

"Due to the bad climate in Badakhshan province, we stopped the military operation, but we strive to release the captured soldiers from the bully boys," said Lal Muhammad Ahmadzai, front man for the Badakhshan Police Chief.

The Interior Ministry maintains that the uptick in krazed killer activity around the country is related to foreign terrorist networks and intelligence services.

"Networks from abroad support the murderous Moslems and send them to Afghanistan," Ministry front man Sediq Sediqi said.

French Forces Engaged in Large-Scale Operation in Mali, Says Army
[AnNahar] Fighting between French military forces and jihadists continued overnight in northern Mali where soldiers are carrying out a large-scale operation, the army said Thursday after a staff sergeant was killed.

Thomas Dupuy, a 32-year-old Afghanistan veteran who belonged to a commando parachute group, was killed in violent festivities with hardline Islamists in Mali's Tigharghar mountain range early Wednesday, as part of an operation aimed at stemming the return of jihadists in the north.

"The French army has the situation under control," said military front man Gilles Jaron.

"The fighting continued through the night, but we have the upper hand on the field.

"We were faced with some 30 heavily armed terrorists, we estimate that this morning around 20 of them were neutralized."

Jaron added that a "much larger" operation by French forces was currently taking place in northern Mali, without giving further details. It was not clear whether this was a separate intervention or part of the same battle.

French troops intervened in Mali in January 2013 to chase out hardline Islamists, including Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, which had seized control of the country's northern desert cities.

This intervention was replaced several months ago by a wider counter-terrorism operation, codenamed Barkhane, in five countries along the southern rim of the Sahara including Mali.

The operation is currently focusing on stemming a resurgence of jihadists in Mali and cutting their rear bases in Libya.

Dupuy was the 10th French soldier killed in Mali since January 2013.

Jihadists Held for Plotting Attacks in Morocco, France
[AnNahar] Morocco said Thursday it has nabbed

two jihadists who were planning to attack banks and multinational companies in the North African country and in La Belle France.

An interior ministry statement said a Frenchie and a Franco-Moroccan arrested on Monday had also been planning to join the Islamic State

jihadist group.

It said they used the Internet to urge "individual terrorist acts in Morocco and La Belle France", citing preliminary results from the investigation.

Both men had been motivated by the actions of Mohammed Merah, a French-Algerian national killed by French police in March 2012 after murdering seven people, including several children at a Jewish school.

The ministry statement said the arrested dual national had taken out several loans with French and Moroccan banks to finance their activities.
Heckuva background check y'all did on that one, guys.
It said the pair were arrested in Kenitra in the north as they "were busy rallying the ranks of the terrorist organization called Daesh", the Arabic acronym for the Islamic State organization, it said.

The detainees, identified only by their initials, were "involved in jihadist activism" by translating and disseminating blurbs and video recordings of "IS terrorism", the MAP news agency said.

It added that an "extremist of Algerian origin" was also arrested on Monday in the northern city of Fez, and that he "planned to join his wife," a Moroccan who had already joined the IS.

Niger Says 9 Security Forces Killed by 'Terrorists'
[AnNahar] Nine security agents in Niger were killed on Thursday in multiple "terrorist" attacks in the western Tillaberi region near Mali, the government said.
Is this meaningful, or just lads having their bit of fun?
"Terrorists staged simultaneous attacks. Five coppers, two gendarmes and two national guards were killed," the defense and interior ministries said in a joint statement.

The statement did not specify who the attackers were and there have been so far no claims of responsibility.

It said the attacks targeted a camp housing refugees from Mali, a local prison and a military patrol.

Several prisoners had beat feet from the jail at Ouallam -- the site of one of the attacks -- which is less than 100 kilometers (60 miles) from the capital Niamey.

A witness at the refugee camp said the attackers came on eight cycle of violences with two people riding on each.

"They were crying 'God is Greatest'," a local official told a radio station.

A humanitarian source said they crossed over from Mali and went back after the attack at the camp, where more than 6,000 Malian refugees have lived since 2012.

on Thursday morning, according to officials.

The Rangers and police jointly conducted a raid in Nawa Lane after receiving a tip-off about the presence of criminals wanted by the law, said Kalakot SHO Haji Sanaullah.

As the raid started at 6:45am, Rangers troops were fired upon by gangsters, killing soldier Syed Asgher Shah, 35, and injuring his colleague Abdul Raheem, 25, according to a Rangers spokesperson.

Later, the Rangers conducted a raid in Nawa Lane and, after an exchange of fire, Sarwar Baloch and Owais Baloch were killed, said the official.

A sub-machine gun, a 0.9mm pistol and two hand-grenades were found in their possession, claimed the official.

The Kalakot police official said the exchange of fire with criminals took place in streets 9, 11, and 13 of Nawa Lane and continued for over two hours.

He claimed that Sarwar Razzak alias Bara Sarwar was the 'main commander' of Uzair Baloch group in the area and the government had announced Rs1million head money for his arrest.

He said that Owais was also wanted in murder cases and he was a main character in the 'Farooq alias Maya group' in the area. Some arrests had also been made during the raid and the Rangers took the suspects away, he said.

The victim, Syed Asghar Shah, father of a child hailed from Multan where his coffin was taken for burial. The maimed man was shifted to a private hospital for treatment.

Areas beyond Dattakhel being cleared: Bajwa
[DAWN] The military declared on Wednesday that important areas had been cleared of hard boyz and operation Zar-e-Azb was progressing successfully in North Wazoo Agency.

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Maj Gen Asim Bajwa said at a presser here that Mirali, Miranshah

He said about 1,100 hard boyz had been killed during Zar-e-Azb and 44 in the Khyber-I operation. "One hundred hard boyz have surrendered to the forces," he said.

The front man didn't give a deadline for completing the operations that are under way in North Waziristan and Khyber Agency and said the military campaigns would continue till clearance of the areas.

Maj Gen Bajwa also didn't give a date for the return of the people displaced from both tribal regions and said the army would hand over the areas to the administration after defeating terrorists.

He said Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif wanted to send the displaced people to their homes at the earliest.

Aerial strikes kill 20 suspected militants in Khyber Agency
[DAWN] At least 20 suspected bad boyz were potted and five holy warrior hideouts were destroyed during targeted aerial strikes by fighter jets in Khyber Agency, Pakistain military claimed on Thursday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in a statement said that the fighter aircraft struck holy warrior hideouts in Akakhel, Tirah and other areas of the agency as part of ongoing Khyber Operation.

The details, however, could not be verified as access for journalists is restricted in the area.

Eight Pak soldiers and 21 bad boyz were potted while several others injured earlier on Wednesday in Spin Qamar area of Khyber Agency.

Pak military launched a major offensive in North Wazoo in June and say they have killed more than 1,100 Lions of Islam so far, with 100 soldiers losing their lives in the operation. Later, it shifted focus to Khyber Agency after claiming to have cleared the NWA.

According to ISPR, about 66 Lions of Islam and 12 soldiers have also been injured in the army's ongoing operations in Khyber so far. Whereas, more than a 100 holy warriors, including some key commanders, have surrendered to the authorities.

Khyber is among Pakistain's seven semi-autonomous tribal districts near the Afghan border, rife with homegrown gunnies and foreign holy warriors. These are also home to religious Lion of Islam organizations including Al Qaeda.

Haqqani Commander among Dead in U.S. Drone Strike in Pakistan
[AnNahar] A U.S. drone strike killed at least seven Lions of Islam in Pakistain's restive tribal belt on Thursday, including an important commander of the feared Haqqani network, security officials said.

The attack happened early Thursday in Nargas village of Birmil area, some 30 kilometers west of Wana, the main town of South Wazoo tribal region near the Afghan border which is considered a stronghold of Talibs.

Officials and a bad boy source said four foreigners and an important commander from the ruthless Haqqani network, which is blamed for numerous bloody attacks in Afghanistan, were among those killed.

"At least seven Lions of Islam were killed in the drone strike," an intelligence official based in Wana told AFP, adding that the dead included four foreigners and a top Haqqani commander.

"Abdullah Haqqani (the commander) was responsible for sending jacket wallahs to Afghanistan," the official said.

Another official in the neighboring garrison town of Bannu confirmed the corpse count and killing of the commander.

A source in a bad boy group said that a vehicle loaded with arms and ammunition was also destroyed in the attack.

South Waziristan is one of the seven lawless tribal districts of Pakistain that border Afghanistan.

These semi-autonomous areas have for years been a hideout for Islamist Lions of Islam of all stripes -- including Al-Qaeda and the homegrown Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP) as well as imported muscle such as Uzbeks and Uighurs.

Washington pressed Islamabad for years to wipe out the sanctuaries in the North Waziristan tribal area, which Lions of Islam have used to launch attacks on NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
forces in Afghanistan.

The Pak military launched a major offensive in North Waziristan in June and say they have killed more than 1,100 Lions of Islam so far, with 100 soldiers losing their lives in the operation.

The area is off-limits to journalists, making it impossible to independently verify the number and identity of the dead.

The army assault was launched after a dramatic attack by Lions of Islam on Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
airport, which killed dozens of people and marked the end of faltering peace talks between the government and the Pak Taliban.

Pakistain routinely protests against U.S. drone strikes, which have been targeting Lions of Islam in the tribal areas since 2004, saying they violate its illusory sovereignty and are counterproductive in the fight against terror.

But most analysts believe the resumption of the drone program after it was suspended at the start of the year -- reportedly to give Pakistain space for negotiations with the Taliban -- is evidence of collusion between the two countries.

The Islamabad government and military officials strongly deny this.

group men attacked an oil and gas field in Syria, killing at least 30 pro-regime gunnies and security guards, a monitoring group said Wednesday.

"IS managed to control parts of the field," the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said after Tuesday's assault at Shaer, in Homs province.

An unknown number of turbans were also killed, Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP.

Separately, US warplanes renewed Arclight airstrikes near the Syrian town of Kobani, as Iraqi peshmerga soldiers prepared to reinforce their fellow Kurds in the border area, the US military said on Wednesday.

US fighter jets and bombers on Tuesday and Wednesday carried out eight air raids near Kobani, targeting six vehicles, a building and several IS fighting positions over the past 24 hours, said the military's Central Command, which oversees the air war in Iraq and Syria.

In Iraq, American unmanned drones and fighter jets conducted six bombing raids, including three near Sinjar in the north and three around Fallujah,

(IS) terrorist group, has died, leaving behind six daughters, according to a report.

Al-Zahrani, 42, was killed in Kobani, the main theater of war at the Turkey-Syria border where the IS is fighting coalition and Kurdish forces. Al-Zahrani had left his family and job at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh to join the terrorist group. During his time with IS, he learned to make explosives.

Curiously, when Al-Zahrani died, it took a while for other IS members to identify him. They launched a Twitter campaign to find out his real name so that they could inform his family of his death. They also sent tweets to Saudi tribes and published photographs of him under his assumed name, Ibrahim Al-Jazrawi.

Al-Zahrani hailed from Abha, and moved frequently between several IS camps in Syria.

Peshmerga at Turkish Border to Reinforce Besieged Kobane
[AnNahar] Heavily armed Iraqi peshmerga forces reached the Turkish border Thursday and a first group entered the town of Kobane as they prepared to join fellow Kurds battling the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group.

The group of 10 fighters were to coordinate with local Kurdish militia who have been holding off an assault by IS jihadists for six weeks, a monitoring group said.

A peshmerga convoy reached the town of Suruc on the Turkish side of the border Thursday, after traveling through southeastern Turkey along roads clogged with flag-waving Kurds, an AFP photographer said.

There it linked up there with a second group of peshmerga who had flown in Wednesday, but it was unclear when the main force would cross into Kobane.

Officials have said there are about 150 peshmerga fighters in total, armed with machineguns, heavy artillery and rocket launchers.

The IS jihadists were pounding northern areas of Kobane along the border with mortars and heavy artillery Thursday, a monitoring group said, in an apparent bid to prevent the peshmerga from crossing.
But not to stop the FSA? How precise of them.
They had also launched an assault on a northern neighborhood overnight but were pushed back by forces from the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) militia, said the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

"The bombardment of the border area will likely delay the entry of the peshmerga" into Kobane, said Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman, whose group relies on a wide network of sources inside Syria.

Kobane has become an important symbol of the battle against IS, an myrmidon Sunni Moslem group that has seized swathes of Syria and Iraq, committing atrocities and declaring an Islamic "caliphate".

A U.S.-led coalition carrying out air raids against IS has intensified attacks near Kobane in recent days, and the Pentagon said its fighter jets and bombers made 10 strikes in the area on Wednesday and Thursday.

The coalition carried out two other strikes elsewhere in Syria and two more in Iraq, it said.

Washington has also dropped weapons to Kobane's defenders, who had received little in the way of reinforcements until now.

Under pressure from the United States, Turkey agreed last week to allow the peshmerga to cross its territory to Kobane.

Turkey also allowed dozens of rebel fighters of the Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
(FSA) to cross into Kobane Wednesday, but they were lightly armed and unlikely to make a crucial difference in the battle.

Ankara has been wary of giving support to the YPG Kurdish militia, which has close links with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) that has fought a three-decade insurgency in southeast Turkey.

The peshmerga reinforcements were waiting in a storage facility in Suruc, 10 kilometers (six miles) from the border, which was heavily guarded by Turkish security forces who prevented media approaching.

The Observatory said the small group of peshmerga that had entered Kobane were there to "coordinate the arrival of their comrades".

Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
One of the last of the old-fashioned hereditary iron-fisted fascist dictators...
's regime denounced Ankara, which has long supported the war against it, for allowing them across the border.

"Once again, Turkey has shown its conspiratorial role... by allowing foreign forces and terrorist groups to enter Syria," said a foreign ministry statement reported by state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
"This constitutes a flagrant violation of Syrian illusory sovereignty."

In Iraq, hundreds of soldiers and pro-government fighters were gathering for an assault on the strategic jihadist-held northern town of Baiji, officers said.

"Iraqi forces are massing at the town of Baiji, preparing to enter the town and regain control of it," said Lieutenant General Abdulwahab al-Saadi, who heads the provincial military command.

Baiji lies on the main highway to Iraq's IS-controlled second city djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
and the assault could open the way to breaking a months-old jihadist siege of government forces defending Iraq's largest oil refinery, which is located near the town.

IS arose in the chaos of Syria's civil war, an uprising against Assad that has killed more than 180,000 people and forced millions from their homes in the past three-and-a-half years.

The regime has been accused of carrying out widespread abuses in its fight against a diverse group of rebels who include IS, other jihadists and secular rebels.

Washington expressed horror Wednesday at reports Syrian government forces had dropped barrel bombs on a camp for displaced persons in the northwestern province of Idlib.

"We are horrified by the reports that the Assad regime barrel bombed the Abedin displaced persons camp in Idlib and the images we saw of the carnage against innocent civilians," U.S. State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki
...a valley girl who woke up one morning and found she was spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of State...
said. "The attack on the Abedin camp was nothing short of barbaric."

The Observatory said the attack Wednesday killed at least 10 people and maimed dozens more in the camp.

#7  Susan Rice is managing the war against ISIS. Not the Pentagon.

The Pentagon brass placed in charge of implementing Obama’s war against ISIS are getting fed up with the short leash the White House put them on.
Top military leaders in the Pentagon and in the field are growing increasingly frustrated by the tight constraints the White House has placed on the plans to fight ISIS and train a new Syrian rebel army.

As the American-led battle against ISIS stretches into its fourth month, the generals and Pentagon officials leading the air campaign and preparing to train Syrian rebels are working under strict White House orders to keep the war contained within policy limits. The National Security Council has given precise instructions on which rebels can be engaged, who can be trained, and what exactly those fighters will do when they return to Syria. Most of the rebels to be trained by the U.S. will never be sent to fight against ISIS.

Making matters worse, military officers and civilian Pentagon leaders tell The Daily Beast, is the ISIS war’s decision-making process, run by National Security Adviser Susan Rice. It’s been manic and obsessed with the tiniest of details. Officials talk of sudden and frequent meetings of the National Security Council and the so-called Principals Committee of top defense, intelligence, and foreign policy officials (an NSC and three PCs in one week this month); a barrage of questions from the NSC to the agencies that create mountains of paperwork for overworked staffers; and NSC insistence on deciding minor issues even at the operational level.

“We are getting a lot of micromanagement from the White House. Basic decisions that should take hours are taking days sometimes,” one senior defense official told The Daily Beast.

Ahmed Miqati, 17 Others Charged with Terrorism, 'Islamic Emirate' Plot
[AnNahar] State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr on Thursday filed terror charges against the dangerous detainee Ahmed Miqati and 17 others.

"The military judiciary has received the terrorist detainee Ahmed Salim Miqati, 46, who is one of the top cadres of the ISIL (Islamic State

) group and goes by the noms de guerre Abu Bakr and Abu al-Hoda," state-run National News Agency reported.

Miqati, the prisoner Fayez Othman, the detainee Ahmed al-Ahmed and 15 runaways were charged with "belonging to a terrorist group with the aim of carrying out terror acts."

The charges also included "the formation of gangs, recruiting individuals, training on the use of arms and explosives, and plotting to occupy the Dinniyeh region villages of Asoun, Bakhoun, Bqaa Safrine and Sir al-Dinniyeh with the aim of creating an IS emirate."

Miqati was also accused of "taking part in operations against the army, inciting the murder of its troops, stirring sectarian strife and possessing arms and explosives."

NNA noted that some of the charges are punishable by death.

Miqati was referred to First Military Examining Magistrate Riad Abu Ghida, the agency said.

On Monday, NNA said the dangerous Lion of Islam confessed that he had been plotting to establish an "Islamic emirate" straddling four towns in the northern district of Dinniyeh as part of a broader scheme to connect Syria's Qalamun to the Lebanese coast.

at dawn Thursday in the Dinniyeh town of Asoun during a deadly army raid on an apartment that he and several bandidos bully boyz had been residing in for several days. Three gunnies were killed in the operation, including defected soldier Abdul Qader Akkoumi.

His confessions came in the wake of fierce festivities that erupted in Tripoli

's old souks Friday over a false rumor alleging that Miqati had died during interrogation.

The festivities spread to the Tripoli neighborhood of Bab al-Tabbaneh, where a group loyal to Shadi al-Mawlawi and Osama Mansour was entrenched, and to the nearby region of Akkar where Sheikh Khaled Hoblos led an armed assault against the army.

Clashes Erupt in Outskirts of Bekaa Towns of Deir al-Ghazal, Qusaya
[AnNahar] Armed festivities broke out on Wednesday evening on the Lebanese-Syrian border outside the Bekaa towns of Deir al-Ghazal and Qusaya, in an area that has been witnessing near-daily skirmishes with Syria-based hard boys.

"Clashes are underway in the outskirts of the towns of Deir al-Ghazal and Qusaya on Syria's border," Leb's National News Agency reported.

It said the sounds of artillery shelling echoed in the region "as warplanes flew over the mountains and the sounds of kabooms were heard in most of the Eastern Mountain Range towns."

Earlier, OTV said "five kabooms were heard in Qusaya and Syrian warplanes are flying over the area."

NNA and OTV did not reveal anything about the identities of the parties involved in the festivities.

On October 22, the Qusaya region witnessed festivities between the pro-Damascus Popular Front for the Liberation of Paleostine
... Paleostinian Marxist movement, founded in 1967. It is considered a terrorist organization by more than 30 countries including the U.S., European Union, Australia, Canada, and Antarctica. Front.

The PFLP-GC has a military base in Qusaya.

Gunbattles had erupted between the PFLP-GC and unknown faceless myrmidons in central Bekaa in August.

The group said at the time that gunnies targeted its post as well as a Lebanese army position in Ain al-Baida near Kfar Zabad.

The PFLP-GC, whose command is based in Damascus, has maintained military bases in the eastern Bekaa Valley as well as in the hills of Naameh south of Beirut for the last 23 years.

The PFLP-GC is the only Paleostinian faction that maintains significant military positions outside the 12 Paleostinian camps in Leb.

He admitted to smuggling weapons and food to the bully boyz on the outskirts of Arsal, it added.

Also Thursday, the state-run National News Agency said the military arrested 13 suspects in the town of al-Dreeb in the northern Akkar district.

NNA said that three of the suspects are Lebanese nationals.

The remaining are Syrians, including the leader of an gang that engaged in battles in the village of al-Hosn in central Syria.

The army said in its communique that the number of suspects rounded up during raids in northern Leb on Wednesday reached 50.

The battle between the Lebanese army and Death Eaters in northern Leb was widely expected after members of the Islamic State

An army reconnaissance drone accompanied the operation.
