Great White North
First Nations chief received $55,000 from Tides Foundation
Hat tip Instapundit yesterday.

Tides Foundations gives a Canadian tribal chief money. Chief then goes to rally to oppose extraction of oil from Alberta tar sands. Gift of money is buried deep, deep in foundation financial reports. Canadian and American press ignore. Progressives continue to chip away at energy independence.

As for the Chief, if he's indicted it doesn't matter to Tides. There's always another chief.

Tides will just learn to put more 'pro' between the 'quid' and the 'quo'.

#1  Tides Foundation is partially funded by George Soros

#3  Tides Foundation

And most likely through byzantine good old boy legislation both it and its leaders and board members (can we say real 1 percenters) derive directly or indirectly de facto tax free status.

#4  Whose land is it? The tribes have a conflict of interest with the oil companies, a main source of revenue for them, and the preservation of the land + energy independence. They also contend they are not fully compensated from the energy companies operating on tribal lands (feds also claim reservation land but they are also considered sovereign nations with mineral rights) so they feel they are royally screwed. It's always open season for graft on the rez.

#5  Been saying it for a while. George Soros is pure evil - sold out fellow Jews to the Nazis. Destabilized currencies and countries to their detriment and made money off it. Athiest collectivist that wants the world to be an ant colony (with him as the leader of course). He is getting old but remains patently evil. He needs to die already, he's lived and damaged the world quite long enough.

One of the very few people I would assault on sight, regardless of consequence to myself.

Home Front: Culture Wars
Obama Wouldn't Let His Son Play Pro Football
Of course not; Travon's way too slow now.
But if the daughters take after mama, they might be able to make a go of it.
And by what authority does a person, even a father, have to let or not let an adult (no pro football players under age 18) do something legal?

#1  Watching him throw a ball and shoot hoops, I don't think he will ever have that problem.

What an awkward stock photo at link. Who throws the football around standing under a covered arcade?

Government
Champ: Pot not worse than alcohol.
[Politico] WASHINGTON -- President Champ said he doesn't think marijuana is more dangerous than alcohol, "in terms of its impact on the individual consumer."
Yet another war [War on Drugs] the Champ really does not believe in.

"As I sat there, I thought: The president doesn't trust his commander, can't stand Karzai, doesn't believe in his own strategy and doesn't consider the war to be his," Mr. Gates wrote. "For him, it's all about getting out."
~ Robert Gates

#2  He has tried both so he knows. IN, fact he has smoked alcohol and drunk pot.

#3  Admits doing cocaine in his book. In fact, he never says anywhere that he stopped...

#4  Use all you want, makes no difference, you still lie
Posted by: Redneck Jim || 01/20/2014 10:57 Comments || Top||

#5  Of course he would say that. Here, take welfare, the govt will provide for your every need. Smoke some dope and relax, don't worry. Stoned and stupid, just how the dems like their party. Its working well in San Fran with Nancy. Anyone with half a brain not fogged over with drugs would be ashamed of her re[presenting them in our nations capitol...

#6  Drip drip drip. Keep moving America over to the dark side by any means necessary, Satan.

A WWII vet who faced suicidal attacks by jap forces said that when the jap commanders got their troops hopped up on saki, they could order them to charge 50 caliber machine guns and they would do it. The machine gunners had to cut them in half to stop the charge but it was out right suicide by the attackers.

i would suggest impeachment, he is in charge of the public school system educating our children.

#7  Actually I agree with Obama: it's probably not any worse for you medically to be a pot head than to be an alcoholic. Both are bad for you in different ways, but I can't say honestly that one is worse than the other.

#8  We've all known for quite some time the guy is a numbskull.
Posted by: Abu Uluque || 01/20/2014 12:25 Comments || Top||

#9  Let's see; dope, gay marriage, illegal immigration, cell phones, welfare, minimum wage hikes, etc. Did I miss anything? Anything goes, except guns and free speech, as long as you vote donk.

#10  So pot is safer than football. Should do wonders with the exercise the youth initiative.
Posted by: swksvolFF || 01/20/2014 14:41 Comments || Top||

#11  So pot is okay but we're going to make tobacco illegal. Right...
Posted by: Steve White || 01/20/2014 14:43 Comments || Top||

#12  The Indians introduced Tobacco to the colonials, He's no Indian, and doesn't represent them, so?

Screw them, (And the rest of America too).
Posted by: Redneck Jim || 01/20/2014 18:05 Comments || Top||

#13  By extens, then, iff a person can go to jail + have his vehicle impounded by the Police + Courts for being drunk, i.e. consuming alcohol + related at or beyond the max limit legally allowed by law, WHY SHOULD A PERSON WHOM DOES THE SAME VEE MARIJUANA = "WEED" NOT SUFFER???

Lest we fergit, depending on his or her specific metabolism a person whom consumes a tiny or small amount of alcohol or weed can suffer just as much or worse as someone whom consumes copiously.

WHAT MORE HARDER DRUGS, AS MANY IN FAVOR OF LEGAL WEED FOR MEDICAL ANDOR RECREATIONAL USE ARE ALSO IN FAVOR OF SAME FOR HARD DRUGS + NEW DRUGS???
Posted by: JosephMendiola || 01/20/2014 19:35 Comments || Top||

#14  With alcohol, the long term physical effects are worse. With pot, the mental effects.

In moderation, once you reach maturity, neither is particularly problematic. Sell them in liquor stores for a fair price.
