Fictional TV presidents more popular than Obama
[Hurriyet Daily News] Whether it's the earnest Josiah Bartlet from "The West Wing" or the manipulative Frank Underwood in "House of Cards," Americans prefer television presidents to their real-life POTUS, President Barack "No Drama" Obama.

A Rooters-Ipsos poll taken this month found 54 percent of Americans held an unfavorable opinion of Obama, known for his cool and cautious presidential style, while 46 percent were favorable.

In contrast, asked to imagine that David Palmer of "24" was president, 89 percent of those who had seen the real-time Fox counterterrorism drama said they held a favorable rating of the decisive president played by Dennis Haysbert.

Martin Sheen's Jed Bartlet of "The West Wing" - beloved by Democrats, including many who work in Obama's White House - was rated favorably by 82 percent of its NBC viewers.

#1  Even Real fictional Presidents are more popular than obama.

#2  No worries. His base will remain committed until the end....and possibly beyond.

#3  This is either: a very deep sarcasm, or the most scathing denunciation of American People I've ever seen.

#4  A great number of numb-skulls voted for a fictional president the last election.

#5  the most scathing denunciation of American People I've ever seen

For a tragically large percentage of the American public, teevee is the only reality they know.

#6  If people were paying attention, root canals would be more popular than Obama.

#7  Frankly, I prefer the voices in my head over his speeches.

#8  #6 If people were paying attention, root canals would be more popular than Obama. You shouldn't do that Rambler, clean ups are a b!tch.

#9  No one ever pays attention to the small print on the bottom of the screen.

Do not attempt this at home. Done by professional actors in a closed studio.

#10  Fictional TV presidents more popular than the fictional White House occupant? Somehow I believe many of us we knew it would end this way.

Actually, in a perverse sort of way, I've come to enjoy listening to him speak. Each time he opens his mouth, he showcases the extent of his petulance, anger, and bovine ignorance. Let him bloviate for the world to see.

#11  Maybe the Dems should run Martin Sheen. He'd probably win. He's better than their other choices

FEMA targets climate change skeptic governors, could withhold funding

#1  That's a nice state you have. If you don't tow the party line, something could happen to it.

This is how the federal government has browbeaten the states into giving up their powers and subjecting themselves to its will since the 1930s. Long past time for the States to stand up to the feds.

#2  Tornados caused by climate change will not get a FEMA response? Piety on parade in Foggy Bottom.

Posted by: Besoeker || 03/24/2015 10:24 Comments || Top||

#4  I think it's star they are supposed to wear on the outside of their clothing - preferable the chest area where it is clearly visible.

#6  Time for a Republican to clean up the government.

Lots of rentier placemen to sack.

#7  Sounds like FEMA needs an arm-band as well. Something in a lovely black white and red motiff to go with their brownshirts.

#8  Only Obama would stop Congress from sending appropriations directly to the states in case of natural disaster, in preparation or after the event. Then they can play the blame game for hating the poor unfortunate victims of natures' vagaries on anyone who obstructs it.

Champ and The Hildebeest convene another hush-hush meeting
[CNN] President Barack Obama and his former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met on Monday afternoon behind closed doors to discuss "a range of topics," the White House said in a statement.

"President Obama and Secretary Clinton enjoy catching-up in person when their schedules permit," White House press secretary Josh Earnest said in a written statement. The meeting lasted about an hour.
Total rubbish! These are damage assessment meetings. I suspect he's trying desperately to get her to step away from the race.

#1  Paper shredding, disk crunching, and hard drive erasing were heard coming from the meeting.

#2  Check writing, also writing of checks from laundered offshore funds that have passed through 'The Foundation'.

#3  I suspect she fears the end may be near and time is certainly not on her side. She's got to make nice and 'cop a deal' before Champ is out of office. Once he's gone, the follow-on oval office occupant may not be nearly as charitable.

More pressure on this scoundrel please.
