-Lurid Crime Tales-
Road Rage Murderer Attempts To Flee Country
Broward Sheriff Ken Jenne announced Monday afternoon the arrest of a man at New York's John F. Kennedy airport in the dragging death of Sandra Hall, 44, of Fort Lauderdale. Sheriff Jenne identified the suspect as Abdelaziz Hamze, 24, of Coral Springs, during a press conference. He said BSO investigators were on their way to New York to interview him.

Here is what BSO investigators said about Hamze's arrest: The suspect was pulled from an Athens-bound flight at JFK airport, at approximately 4:20 p.m., Monday afternoon, by agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. It is believed Hamze, who is a U.S. citizen, purchased his ticket to Greece following the murder. Athens is a common connecting point for flights to Lebanon, where Hamze is originally from.

BSO detectives identified Hamze after a man called the agency, and told investigators he had been contacted by Hamze. The caller said that several months ago he sold Hamze the 1999 Dodge minivan involved in the incident, and that Hamze had contacted him after the murder. Detectives are not releasing the content of the call between the two men at this time. In addition, a witness identified Hamze from a photo line-up. Hamze is expected to be charged with first degree murder.

#1  The muzzie (Hamze) was driving under the influence of islam. I suppose you could call it DUII.

From the kufar's point of view it's a senseless death. If you're muzzie, hey...she was infidel: no harm no foul.

#3  From the other article posted here:
As he drove northbound from Davie, another driver pulled alongside Williams to let him know his headlights were out. Williams said he was pulling into a Shell gas station at the intersection of Riverland Road to see why the headlights were off when the Dodge Caravan slammed into the Cadillac's rearend.

That doesn't sound like road rage to me, as there was no apparent connection between Mr. Hamze and the victims. He started off by slamming into their car at a gas station, then slammed into the woman when she tried to stop him. I call Sudden Jihad Syndrome; I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Mr. Hamze had acquired the vehicle specifically for the purpose, then looked for an opportunity. But I'm silly that way.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Campers thought dead man was meditating
A MAN who died from extreme dehydration after an outback purification ritual was not given immediate medical help because fellow campers believed he was astral travelling, a coronial inquest has heard.

Melbourne man Rowan Douglas Cooke, 37, died on November 3, 2004, a day after being dragged unconscious from a heated tent, called a sweat lodge, as part of a native American ritual.

He was camping with 10 others from Victoria on an isolated property in the Gammon Ranges in South Australia's far north, undergoing an eight-day ritual of fasting, meditation and purification.

The South Australian Coroner's Court today heard Mr Cooke was undertaking a ritual called a pipe ceremony, where participants sweat out toxins and spirits to enter an out-of-body state.

The sweat lodge was made of 16 bent poles that formed a dome about 1.2 metres tall, which was covered in blankets and silver insulation.

Volcanic rocks, called "grandfathers", were heated in a nearby fire and carried into the tent where water was poured on them to create steam.

Counsel assisting the coroner Amy Davis told the court Mr Cooke entered the sweat lodge after midnight, with two others, Adrian Asfar and Maureen Collier.

Ms Davis said after some time in the tent, Ms Collier yelled out that she wanted to leave and the campers later found Mr Cooke and Mr Asfar unconscious inside the lodge.

The campers dragged the two men out of the lodge and attempted to revive them by performing a series of spiritual rituals including chanting and drumming, she said.

They also massaged their hands and feet, buried their feet in the soil and smashed sacred ceramic pipes over them to set their spirits free.

"They believed they had been astral travelling or were in a deep meditation space," Ms Davis told the court.

Mr Asfar later regained conscious but Mr Cooke did not.

At daybreak, two of the campers left the isolated camp to seek help from a homestead, but an ambulance did not arrive to treat Mr Cooke until after 8am.

He was pronounced dead at Leigh Creek Hospital at 11.30am after resuscitation efforts failed.

The inquest was continuing.

#8  The campers dragged the two men out of the lodge and attempted to revive them by performing a series of spiritual rituals including chanting and drumming, she said.

Obviously CPR would have been far too mundane and a bitter concession of Western alopathic medicine's superiority.

They also massaged their hands and feet, buried their feet in the soil and smashed sacred ceramic pipes over them to set their spirits free.

Post mortem analysis showed that despite signs of heat prostration, actual death resulted from cranial contusions.

The above entire incident is a splendid example of just how dangerous all of this "new age" pseudo-science hogwash is. Expect many more deaths from people trying to heal cancer using only ear candles, crystals and aromatherapy.

Mån vs. mǿnkfish
Håkon Brandvik made the rash decision of trying to catch a massive monkfish underwater with a knife. The result was a 15-minute battle to the death with a 56-kilo (123.5-lb), 1.5 meter (59-inch) fish armed with a massive mouth full of long, pointed teeth. "I was terrified. It could have taken my entire head in its mouth," Brandvik told newspaper Sunnhordland's web site.

Brandvik was shaken long after his ordeal, which started when the 27-year-old was out diving with colleagues at Sveio in Hordaland County in western Norway. He encountered the beast at about 12 meters (39.3 feet) deep. Brandvik made the sudden decision to try and capture the fish using a knife, and stabbed it between the eyes - without getting the expected effect. "Then it started to try and bite me. That was when I started having regrets," Brandvik said.

Brandvik's colleague Elena Zhichkina from Stord Underwater Service was the dive leader, and saw the drama from aboard their boat. "It was really quite shocking, even though I knew how large the fish was. It was about my size," Zhichkina told Aftenposten.no. Her friend's fight against the massive fish took a quarter of an hour.

"The fish was incredibly strong, after a while I my arm started to cramp," Brandvik told the newspaper.

More on the hippies complaining about the punks
To follow up on yesterday's story, a reader writes to the "Relapsed Catholic":

That LA times article about the old hippies complaining about the young'uns is even more hilarious than you know, because exactly the same article has appeared in the SF Chronicle over and over again as long as I can remember. I was a precocious newspaper reader at the age of 8 (so that would be 1983) and I have clear memories of reading exactly that article, and then reading it again the next year, and again and again, until I moved to the Haight in 1998 and started getting interviewed about the degeneracy myself.

The Haight has been a sinkhole of depraved behavior *even for San Francisco* for my entire life, and for that entire time, newspapermen have been finding some old crusty flower children to interview about how runaways shooting up in restaurant bathrooms, bums defecating in doorways, aggressive panhandling and a homeless encampment that has come close to destroying the eastern end of Golden Gate Park have *nothing to do* with their civilization-eroding activities back in the day.

Cyclone Forces Oman to Evacuate 7,000
MUSCAT, Oman (AP) - A powerful cyclone approaching the oil-rich Persian Gulf area forced the evacuation Monday of nearly 7,000 people from an Omani island, a government official said. Government authorities started the evacuations from Masira, an island off the east coast of Oman, said General Malik bin Suleiman al-Muamri, head of the country's civil defense.

Cyclone Gonu, with winds of 160 miles per hour and gusts of 195 miles per hour, was headed northwest through the Indian Ocean toward Oman's east coast, said Weather Underground meteorologist Tim Roche.

The storm was expected to weaken before starting to lash Oman on Tuesday, with winds of 115 mph. The most powerful part of the storm was expected to hit Oman on Thursday before moving north into southern Iran. Even with the weaker wind speeds, Gonu would be the strongest cyclone to hit the Arabian Peninsula since record keeping started in 1945, Roche said.

Afghanistan
French restaurateur on hunger strike in Kabul
The French owner of one the most popular restaurants in Kabul went on hunger strike Monday to protest a tax bill of half a million dollars that he linked to xenophobia in the Afghan government. Marc Victor, who opened L'Atmosphere four years ago, said he would refuse food until the government allowed his restaurant to reopen and cancelled all action against him. This included scrapping demands for the 500,000 dollars, which he said was equivalent to more than a year's turnover and based on an overstated assessment of the size of his business.

Victor, who says he has paid tax every year amounting to 120,000 dollars since opening the restaurant, has also written to the finance minister to protest.

In a statement announcing his hunger strike, the 46-year-old asked how the government could reconcile "the urgent need" for foreign investment with the "quick-growing of xenophobia in this country," including among civil servants.

L'Atmosphere is among several restaurants that cater mainly to the large community of expatriate aid workers, diplomats, journalists and others who arrived after the extremist Taliban were toppled in 2001. It serves alcohol and controversially does not admit Afghans, saying this is because Muslims are not allowed to drink in this strictly Islamic country. Other foreign restaurants serve Afghans but will not sell them alcohol. Afghan authorities raided some of the restaurants this year, including on allegations that they were irregularly selling alcohol, and several were closed down.

Responding to Victor's complaints, the finance ministry said its revenue department was "serious about ensuring that taxpayers meet their tax obligations." It would be "inappropriate and contrary to the tax law" to discuss the specifics of the L'Atmosphere case, director general of revenue Ahmad Jalali said.

China-Japan-Koreas
Falling Suicide Mastiff breaks woman's neck
A woman's neck was fractured after being hit by a falling, 40-kilogram Tibetan Mastiff yesterday morning in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality. The dog was martyred died at the scene, the Chongqing Morning News reported today. The reason why the Mastiff fell is being investigated by local police.
The first question would normally be "Why do dogs hate us?" This being China, I think we can skip that one.
A witness who was polishing shoes near the site said the animal didn't bark in the air and its head hit the ground after hitting the victim. It suffered from a wound as large as a fist and died after 30 seconds.

A female witness who was selling newspapers nearby said she heard a bang at around 8am, followed by the victim's shout. "I was shocked when I saw the large animal lying on the ground with blood," she said.

The middle-aged victim surnamed Zhang was on her way to breakfast, together with her husband when she was hit by the Mastiff falling from the roof garden of a nine-story residential building, the report said.

Zhang was rushed to a nearby hospital at Jiulongpo District and later transferred to the No. 1 Affiliated Hospital to Chongqing Medical University for further treatment due to her severe injuries.

An elderly woman who declined to be identified said the owner of the Mastiff surnamed Dai lives on the eighth floor of the building. She added that about half an hour later, the body of the Mastiff was taken away by a woman whose identity was unknown.

The price of the black Mastiff was estimated at more than 400,000 yuan (US$52,288), the report said.
Wow!

Tibetan Mastiffs, dubbed the world's "most powerful canine," is renowned as a fearsome guard dog, protectors-to-the-death and revered by some as "the sacred fooddog of the East." It is also the latest celebrity status symbol sought by stars and wealthy people who need fearless watch dogs in China and who appreciate that it serves twelve.
The Canine Jihad begins.

Expect that "bang" to be missing from the official white-washed report. This ear-witness clearly heard a bomb yet we are meant to believe "it's raining cats and dogs." Which is easier to believe? That a dog could fly - something that is physically impossible, Google it - or that the Mossad in conjunction with the PLA coordinating anti-jihadi activities in China's far western provinces would use this opportunity to field test a black ops wet-work field implosive device?

Of course not, any flying object typically has safety interlock switches incorporated and the mastiff's audio warning system was activated by a weight on paws switch; no wait, no bark. (weight on paws, or WOP, similiar to the sound the body made on impact. coincidence?)

DHS Wants Cell Phones to Detect Chemical, Radioactive Material
The article is very long, but interesting. I only posted a couple of paragraphs. Go to the link for the remainder of the story.

American cell phones can already check e-mail, surf the Internet and store music, but they could have a new set of features in coming years: the Department of Homeland Security wants them to sense biological, chemical and radioactive material.

Putting hazardous material sensors in commercial cell phones has been discussed in scientific circles for years, according to researchers in the field. More recently, the idea gained support among government agencies, and DHS said publicly in May that it wants businesses to start coming up with proposals.

At the 2007 DHS Science and Technology Stakeholders Conference, S&T Director of Innovation Roger McGinnis outlined how the system could work. Cell phone sensors would continually test the air for harmful compounds and digitally relay any information to a central monitoring system if they find anything amiss.

“It’s a great way to get millions of detectors out there,” McGinnis said.

Like the built-in GPS function many cell phones now offer, customers would have the option of turning the sensors off, McGinnis said.

S&T spokesman Christopher Kelly said the theoretical system’s strength would lie in the sheer number of sensors. The cell phone sensors might be less sophisticated than highly advanced ones some developers are fitting into hand-held models, but they would make up for it in what Kelly called “ubiquitous detection.”

If just one went off, it could be ruled a false positive, he said. But if several detected a harmful compound, emergency workers would know there was a problem, triangulate the phones’ location react to the situation.

“Cell phones that are now made have GPS technology,” Kelly said. “And, if you have a cell phone equipped with that, it can transmit the time and place of an event.”

The proposal has a working name, “Cell-All,” but is far from a contract phase at this point. Kelly said S&T has not even reached the point of sending out Broad Agency Announcements — which present problems or challenges to the business community and ask for solutions — to potential developers.

One killed, three injured in Hayatabad blast
A man was killed and three others injured when an explosion took place in a truck loaded with scrap metal in the Hayatabad police precincts on Monday morning, police said.
Scrap Metal, why does it hate us?

Sar Buland from the Hayatabad police station told Daily Times that a truck loaded with obsolete weapons was being offloaded at the Frontier Foundry Steel Mills in the Hayatabad Industrial Estate when the explosion took place. “The blast killed Dilawar and injured Muslim, Bahar Ali and Nasir Ali,” Buland said, adding that the victims were labourers. Peshawar police chief Abdul Majeed Marwat told Daily Times that it was not a terrorism incident and that the truck had arrived from Afghanistan.
