WASHINGTON (AP) -- A federal judge said Thursday she is leaning toward allowing President Barack Obama's claim of executive privilege in Operation Fast and Furious, the failed law enforcement operation at the center of a congressional investigation and subpoena fight between the Justice Department and House Republicans.
But she said she regards the executive privilege claim as qualified. That view could result in some Justice Department records that House Republicans want remaining confidential, while others might be subject to public disclosure.
Lawyers for the House and the White House argued the case before Jackson. She flayed both sides, chiding the lawyers for turning in legal filings that she called "distressing" for their "vituperative" tone and saying the hearing would not turn into a "press conference." No sense getting all 'vituperative' over gun running and dead people now is there.

After 2016, we'll see if the courts in Mexico City are interested when these immunities and obstructions disappear shielding the agents involved. I'm sure a trade could be worked out for an exchange of cartel drug lords for those involved in gun running.

I would view the empty suit administration's invocation of executive privilege to prevent disclosure of who actually RAN F&F in the DOJ would be an enormous PR nightmare for the Donks and actually make the calls for impeachment less radical and more mainstream.

It would have Bill, if Obama didn't have the Magical Mystery -D after his name.
But since he does the media will bend over backwards to shield him from the issue.
Harley Brown's introductory speech begins at 4:43, complete with colorful hearkening back to his games of bang-bang as a kid: "Don't think I'm crazy, 'cause I'm not!"
Walt Bayes has his turn immediately after, at 5:51: "I stand on principles. I went to jail for homeschoolin', and my kids turned out pretty good. I've got four sons that made rodeo cowboys, and one daughter." Then just scan through for these 2 guys
[AnNahar] Barack Obama I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody... 's administration rebuked Norway after he won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, saying it was an awkward honor for an as-yet untested leader, a Norwegian diplomat revealed on Thursday.
"My most embarrassing day at the U.N., at the time when I was Norway's ambassador there, was when Obama's Nobel Peace Prize was announced. Nobody was talking about it," said Morten Wetland, who served at the U.N. from 2008 to 2012.
"My colleague in Washington received a reprimand from Obama's chief of staff (Rahn Emmanuel, at the time). The word 'fawning' was used," Wetland added in an article in Norwegian daily Dagens Naeringsliv.
The diplomat said that the prize put Obama, who was nominated for the prize just weeks after taking office, in a difficult position.
"An American president wants to set his own agenda. Here he was forced into a role that he hadn't sought," Wetland said.
"It could seem like somebody did this to make Obama visit the country."
How very odd.
The Nobel was unexpectedly awarded to the first African American president of the United States on October 9, 2009, "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."
The announcement came as the U.S. was engaged in two conflicts, in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Norway's ambassador to the U.S. at the time, Wegger Stroemmen, could not be reached for comment.
Wetland's words were published in the midst of a recurring debate on the independence and the make-up of the Nobel committee, whose five members make fully autonomous decisions but are appointed by the Norwegian parliament.
The committee's choices are nevertheless sometimes considered to represent the country's foreign policy.
When Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo won the prize in 2010, the Asian nation froze all high level diplomatic contact with Norway.
Several voices including Wetland are calling for the opening of the Nobel committee to foreign personalities in order to broaden its scope and highlight its independence.

It was a stupid thing to do then, it is still stupid now. The significant thing is that world media is (finally) talking about it. The shine has worn off, which does not bode well for the Prez.

Obama did even less than the 1972 Nobel peace prize winner but still accepted the prize.
Obama is suppose to be the smartest man the whitehouse but could not resist. A common liberal trait is considering the communication delivery of an objective as the task; not the accomplishment or actual completion of the objective. Examine the list of previous winners and you will understand.

The prize has been joke for some time. Obama just bemoaned the loss of propaganda value and that it that they shot their bolt early, when he didn't need it yet.
[PBS 8 Jan 2010] Chagoury, along with his wife and three of his children, were guests at a the Clinton's White House holiday dinner shortly after Chagoury gave nearly half a million dollars to a voter registration committee, Vote Now '96, according to a report in The Washington Post. (Chagoury would have been barred from donating directly to the Clinton campaign because he is not a U.S. citizen.) Since then, Chagoury and Clinton have traveled together and seen each other socially. I'm sure none of this had anything at all to do with the failure of the Clinton led State Department to delay the designation of the Nigerian Boko Haram as a terrorist organization.

Enough Trunks defect to give the Donks the votes, are not enough to keep Boehner as speaker. Amnesty will cost the Trunks the November elections and possibly their existence - as in "what difference does it make" anymore.

To paraphrase one of the greatest presidents "I didn't leave the Republican party...the Republican party left me..." I love my country and both hate and fear my government...all of it. No doubt this will trip the NSA sniffers..good ...shove it you rat bastards

When the Presidents actual brain speaks directly to the peasants without using his mouth you get a sense of the real power center at 1600. I wonder when the residence logs will show her in the residence with Champ cooking up the video BA when Benghazi happened.

Iff Caroline Kennedy is a indirect proxy or gauge for Hillary POTUS Campaign come 2016, IMO unfortunately by extension a China-Japan mil conflict MUST occur in which Caroline wid or widout Hillary saves the day for all sides.
Or at least until after 2018 or 2020.
Hillary = UK's Margaret Thatcher = gotta lock horns wid the Bulls, + NOT be perpetually linked to "women's only" social issues. SHE WILL NOT BE POTUS IN JAN 2017 IFF SHE DOES OR FAILS TO BREAK THE CHAIN.
