Afghanistan
Nearly 190,000 Afghans Deported by Iran in Last 6 Months: Officials
[ToloNews] Officials in the western province of Nimroz said that nearly 190,000 Afghan refugees have been deported from Iran
...The nation is noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence...
within the past six months.

The officials added that they have provided assistance to at least 68,000 refugees that have returned from Iran.

"Over the past six months, more than 68,258 refugees who were deported via Nimroz port were provided with aid," said Sadiqullah Nasrat, head of provincial department of Refugees and Repatriation.

The refugees who were deported by Iran expressed frustration over challenges they have faced there.

"I hope our country is developed and job opportunities are created for youth. I have witnessed a lot of problems in Iran," said Abdul Ghafor, a deportee.

"I have not seen any happy days. I was always after work and the I was kicked out," said Khudad, a deportee.

The analysts believe that if the job opportunities are created in the country, the people will not turn to illegal immigration.

"The government should provide job opportunities for these youth so they will not be forced to leave the country," said Fahim Faramarz, an economist.

This comes as hundreds of Afghans are fleeing Afghanistan on a daily basis due to rising poverty in the country.

US increases reward for 3 Al-Shabaab leaders, including American jihadist
[Garowe] The US government has issued a $ 10 million reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the three al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
top leaders.

The three namely Ahmed Diriye, Mahad Karate, and Jehad Mostafa have been on the US radar for years for conducting various terror attacks in Somalia.

Both leaders have been members of the terror group for the last decade and played different roles in several deadly terrorist attacks in both Somalia and Kenya.

According to U.S. ambassador to Somalia Larry Andre who confirmed the doubling of the reward amount said that the US government will work closely with Somalia to defeat the al-Shabaab terror group with links to al-Qaeda tiers.

Andre was speaking in Nairobi on Monday, said the new $10 million reward ."Today we announce the doubling of the reward offers for information leading to the capture of those leading al-Shabaab. We also announce a new program aimed at disrupting al-Shabaab’s financial networks."

Andre further added that. "Let me stress this is in support of the announced strategy of the Somali government. So the Somali government strategy is to contest the false religious ideology, to go after finances and to confront on the battlefield to liberate the Somali communities."

Currently, Somali government troops, AMISOM, and local militias are involved in a military offensive aimed at driving al-Shabaab out of dozens of villages and towns in central Somalia.

U.S. government aims to arrest the three top al-Shabaab leaders so as to disrupt the group’s operations and safeguard the region’s peace and prosperity.

The U.S. authorities, also revealed that Ahmed Diriye, also known as Abu Ubaidah, is al-Shabaab's top leader. He was last seen in a video, meeting fighters who carried out attacks at a U.S. military camp in Lamu County, Kenya, in 2020.

Mahad Karate is the group’s deputy leader and has at least partial command over the Amniyat, al-Shabaab's security and intelligence wing.

While Jehad Mostafa is a military instructor and the leader of the imported muscle in Somalia. Mostafa — a former resident of San Diego, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, also functions as an intermediary between al-Shabaab and other terrorist organizations.

Marc Dillard -deputy chief of mission at the U.S. embassy in Kenya, further said the reward covers information about illegal financial activities and businesses.

"To further demonstrate our resolve to disrupt and dismantle al-Shabaab’s network and support our Kenyan and regional partners, the United States is offering reward money for information leading to the identification and disruption of al-Shabaab’s revenue sources and funding stream. This includes information on al-Shabaab’s exploitation of local natural resources, financial donors and controllers, and financial transactions."

Monday’s announcement marks the first time the U.S. State Department’s Rewards for Justice Program has offered money for information on al-Shabaab's financial networks.

How Eritrea is helping to rebuild Somalia's depleted forces
[Garowe] At first, the decision by the government of Somalia to dispatch troops to Eritrea
...is run by the People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ), with about the amounts of democracy and justice you'd expect from a party with that name. National elections have been periodically scheduled and cancelled; none have ever been held in the country. The president, Isaias Afewerki, has been in office since independence in 1993 and will probably die there of old age...
for training received criticism, but it could as well turn out to be a blessing in disguise, given the area of specialization by the soldiers who have been undergoing rigorous training for the last three years.

Over the weekend, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud made his second trip to the Horn of Africa nation in as many months, a significant progress that underpins the importance of the ongoing training of close to 5000 soldiers, whose controversial stay in Asmara triggered political storms in the country.

The soldiers were recruited in a clandestine program in 2019 and ferried to Asmara in batches according to insiders, leading to disillusionment from their families who took months before hearing from them. However,
Switzerland makes more than cheese...
the fortunes changed when Hassan Sheikh took over.

On Sunday, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud appointed Colonel Mubarak Abdiqani Muse as the new commander of the Navy and Coastal Defense Forces. Mubarak remains in Asmara and is anticipated to arrive in Mogadishu in the coming days once the soldiers are integrated with others.

For decades, Somalia, a country that once enjoyed an autonomous strong army, has been battling to rebuild its forces, leading to interventions by friendly nations. For instance, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
, the United States, and Britannia have heavily invested in Somalia's land forces, who are crucial in the al-Shabaab
...... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa...
crackdown.

The Americans particularly have been training Danab Special forces who are integrated with infantry units while Turkey is key behind the success of Gorgor troops, who are also land forces. This means the country which has a Coastline of 3,333KM has been left exposed without functional Navy units.

Eritrea, to cure this major gap, has trained Navy cadets who will play a crucial role in revamping the lost glory of the Navy forces, with the last units collapsing during the reign of dictator Siad Barre. Similar tribulations befell the Air Force, which was once one of the strongest forces in the world.

With new Navy cadets almost out, Somalia will now be able to guard her porous coastline which has been abused by criminal gangs including the al-Shabaab, who are said to be smuggling weapons from Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
through the Gulf of Eden. Eritrea did not give the exact number of graduating Navy cadets.

Last year, there were concerns that the Somali soldiers training in Eritrea were sneaked to neighboring Æthiopia where they allegedly engaged in the Tigray war. However,
Switzerland makes more than cheese...
both the governments of Æthiopia and Somalia denied the allegations.
No, no! Certainly not!
despite the fact that Eritrea has been fighting in Tigray.

The Navy contingent, security experts say, will largely revive Somalia's activeness in terms of trade along the Indian Ocean, which had been hampered by increasing al-Shabaab activities. The coastline has also been facing piracy for decades which could now be controlled upon the deployment of troops.

Egypt's cabinet legalises 125 unlicensed churches
[AlAhram] A cabinet committee tasked with legalising the status of unlicensed Christian places of worship approved on Monday the legalisation of 125 churches and service buildings that had been operating without a permit, the cabinet said in a statement.

This brings the total number of Christian places of worship and service buildings that have been granted legal status so far to 2526, cabinet front man Nader Saad said.

In 2016, Egypt’s parliament approved a long-awaited law regulating the building and renovation of churches.

The committee to legalise the status of unlicensed churches was established in 2017 by the prime minister.

The 10-member committee comprises representatives of Christian sects, six government officials from several ministries, representatives from the national security apparatus, the intelligence apparatus, and the administrative control body.

Southern Yemeni resistance leader: United States is too cowardly to face Yemen head-on
[HODHODYEMENNEWS] Major General Khaled Baras, head of the Southern Movement, stressed that the United States is too cowardly to confront the Yemen

i people directly.

He explained that the presence of the American enemy in occupied southern and eastern governorates comes with the aim of controlling Yemen’s Oil and Gas to compensate for the global energy crisis caused by the Russian-Ukrainian war.

General Baras also stressed that the Yemeni people will not stand idly by in front of these violations of the US-Saudi aggression, calling on all the Yemeni people to confront and stop the theft and looting of national wealth.

He stressed that the Yemeni people, their leadership and national army will not allow the country to live the greatest humanitarian disaster in all aspects of life, while its wealth is stolen and looted.

Baras holds the US-Saudi aggression to be fully responsible for the tampering and looting of the Yemeni people’s sovereign wealth, stressing that this is a full-fledged war crime. He stressed that the Yemeni people, with their steadfastness, exposed and thwarted all conspiracies against it.

Britain
France, UK sign new deal to curb migrant Channel crossings
[AlAhram] Britannia agreed to pay La Belle France another 72.2 million euros ($74.5 million) to tighten border controls and thwart migrant boat crossings via the English Channel under a new deal that underlines improving ties between the neighbours.

Around 42,000 people -- most of them Albanians, Iranians and Afghans -- have crossed the Channel to England from La Belle France this year.

The figure is well over last year's 28,561, which was a thousand-fold increase from 2018 when migrants colonists and asylum seekers first began sailing inflatables across one of the world's busiest shipping channels.

"There are no quick fixes, but this new arrangement will mean we can significantly increase the number of French gendarmes patrolling the beaches in northern La Belle France," Britannia's Home Secretary Suella Braverman said in a statement after signing the accord with French counterpart Gerald Darmanin.

The extra money will fund a 40-percent rise in the number of security forces patrolling La Belle France's northern beaches, meaning an additional 350 people, the French interior ministry said.

For the first time, teams of observers will be deployed on both sides of the Channel to "strengthen common understanding".

"The arrangement means, for the first time, specialist UK officers will also be embedded with their French counterparts," the British interior ministry said.

TENSIONS
Successive British governments have paid La Belle France hundreds of millions of euros over the past decade to improve border security on the Channel coast, particularly around the port of Calais.

Past French purchases with UK money include thermal-imaging binoculars, cycle of violences, drones and SUVs which are used during beach patrols.

But suspicions have persisted in Britannia, fanned by the right-wing media and members of the ruling Conservative party, that Gay Paree is not doing enough.

The agreement reflects warmer ties between the La Belle France and the UK since British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak took the helm, after years of acrimony under his predecessors Boris Johnson
...pro-Brexit British prime minister, succeeding no-Brexit Theresa May. BoJo is noted as much for his sparkling personality and his hair as for his Conservative policies....
and Liz Truss.

One of the worst public rows between Johnson and French President Emmanuel Macron came in November last year when 27 migrants colonists drowned in the Channel.

Sunak and Macron held a cordial first meeting last week on the sidelines of the UN climate summit in Egypt and will meet again this week at the G20 in Indonesia.

The issue of how to manage the flow of asylum seekers and economic migrants colonists from Africa and the Middle East has strained diplomatic ties all over Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
for much of the last decade.

La Belle France and Italia, which has elected a new far-right government, clashed last week after Rome refused to let a rescue ship carrying migrants colonists dock at its Mediterranean ports.

Macron and his Italian counterpart Sergio Mattarella urged a return to "full cooperation" on Monday after last week's standoff which ended when La Belle France allowed the boat to disembark its passengers.

"CREDIT"
On the Channel coast, doubts remain about whether incremental changes in the number of French officers patrolling the rugged dunes and wide beaches can reverse the rising tide of crossings.

Observers say the migrants colonists' boats are getting bigger, the tactics of people smugglers more sophisticated, and departures are being recorded along a widening stretch of coastline.

Some 972 people were detected making the crossing on Saturday with 853 on Sunday during calm, sunny weather, according to UK figures.

The French coastguard is adamant that it cannot intercept boats once they are in the water because attempting to do so could cause them to capsize.

Human rights groups have long criticised Britannia for refusing to offer asylum seekers the chance to make claims for protection without crossing the Channel.

"Honestly, it's no different to anything that we've heard before," Clare Moseley, founder of the Care4Calais charity, told AFP about Monday's deal.

"I really think that we need to concentrate on giving people safe passage, giving them safe ways to claim asylum and saving lives," she added.

The ruling Conservative party has taken a hardline on migration and under Johnson devised a scheme to send asylum seekers to Rwanda in a bid to deter new claimants.

"I've watched so many British ministers over the years coming new to the problem and deciding that they are going to get a grip and somehow solve it," former British ambassador to La Belle France, Peter Ricketts, told AFP.

"But they all end up falling back on the realisation that the only way to bring this under control is by working with the French.

"To their credit, the Sunak government has reached that conclusion quickly and today's agreement is good news," he added.

and injured two others.

The deadly incident triggered festivities between border security forces of the two countries with reported casualties, but neither side has formally commented on the reported losses.

A senior Chaman administration official told VOA by phone that the border crossing was briefly opened late Monday afternoon to allow stranded Afghan and Pak pedestrians to return to their native countries, but no trade convoys were permitted to move in either direction.

"The border terminal has now been indefinitely closed for trade and all other movements. It will not be opened until the handing over of the assailant responsible for the martyrdom of the Pak soldier," Deputy Commissioner Abdul Hameed Zehri told VOA.

Security camera footage circulating on social media shows the assailant among a group of several Taliban guards before he quickly brings out his weapon and shoots at Pak forces near an entry gate. A Pak security official confirmed the authenticity of the video to VOA.

Zehri said Pakistain’s attempts to seek a negotiated settlement to the issue failed to produce an outcome, but there were no festivities on Monday.

The motives of the shooting were not immediately known, nor have the Taliban offered any formal comment on the incident.

There were conflicting reports about the fate of the attacker. Some Taliban sources said they were searching for the man, while others said he was recently inducted into the border security unit and had already been apprehended.

The sources, however, ruled out the possibility of handing the suspect over to Pakistain, saying action against him will be taken strictly in line with Afghan laws.

The Chaman and the northwestern Torkham border crossings serve as the main trade routes for landlocked Afghanistan for bilateral and transit trade with and through Pakistain. There are several other relatively smaller terminals on the nearly 2,600-kilometer border separating the two countries.

Residents and traders said Monday scores of trucks transporting Afghan transit trade goods and bilateral shipments were stranded on both sides of the border after Pakistain closed the Chaman crossing.

The Taliban took over Afghanistan 15 months ago and have relied mostly on Pakistain to generate much-needed revenues for their cash-strapped new government through increased bilateral and transit trade.

Islamabad has in recent months removed tariffs and introduced visa concessions for Afghan traders. It has also dramatically increased Afghan coal imports, tilting the annual trade balance in favor of Kabul for the first time in the history of bilateral trade.

issues, particularly their treatment of women.

The absence of legitimacy and international economic sanctions ensuing the Taliban takeover have pushed the Afghan economy to the brink of collapse.

The Islamist rulers have placed restrictions on women, effectively limiting their access to public life and education. They have also ignored global calls for allowing teenage girls to resume their secondary-school education beyond grade six.

The hard-line group returned to power in August 2021 when the United States and NATO

troops withdrew from Afghanistan after nearly 20 years of war with the then-insurgent Taliban.

The group has dismissed criticism of its policies as well as calls for reversing restrictions on women, saying it is governing the country in line with Afghan cultural and Islamic law.

On Wednesday, Russia will host a meeting of special Afghan envoys from China, India, Pakistain, Kazakhstan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan to discuss the situation in Afghanistan.

The Taliban’s treatment of women and other human rights concerns are expected to figure high in the multilateral talks. Russian officials say they have not invited Taliban representatives to the meeting, even though they took part in the last session of the so-called Moscow format gathering held in October 2021.

Ex-PM Khan Withdraws Claim that US Plotted his Ouster
[KHAAMAPRESS] Ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan
...aka The Great Khan, who ain't the sharpest bulb on the national tree...
on Sunday said he no longer "blamed" the US administration had orchestrated his ouster, according to sources, withdrawing his persistent claim that Washington has had key role.

Ever since his removal from office through a vote of no confidence, the Pakistain Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman has continuously exclaimed foreign conspiracy led to his ouster, saying the US administration was behind it.

Addressing multiple gatherings of party supporters via video link from his residence in Lahore, Khan trained his guns at the elder Sharif and said the latter was not going to the polls because he was afraid of defeat at the hands of PTI.

"It is a matter of grave concern for the whole Pak nation that a person convicted by the Supreme Court is poised to take decisions about the future of Pakistain that includes the appointment of a new army chief," he said, as Dawn quoted.

"Those installed through the ’regime change conspiracy’ are running away from holding elections, knowing that they will lose [elections] against me and will not be able to save their corruption and looted money," he claimed.

Iran to inaugurate new border crossing without Iraq's approval
[Shafaq News] An official source in Diyala revealed on Sunday that Iran
...They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
has completed the first phase of inaugurating a new border crossing with Iraq through the governorate.

The source told Shafaq News Agency that the Iranian side has established a square and brought caravans near the location of the Korsneq border crossing (113 km east of Baquba) that was not approved by Iraq.

He added that the Iranian law allows governors to establish new border crossings with neighboring countries, but it is not the case in Iraq.

The source revealed that smuggling and illegal commercial exchange operations are taking place in the area, which caused conflicts between groups controlling the border crossings in Diyala, one of which occurred yesterday and resulted in the death of three people.

Peshmerga forces purged the territory between Kurdistan and Saladin from ISIS: commander
[Shafaq News] The Peshmerga forces managed to purge the territory between the Saladin governorate and the Kurdistan region from ISIS remnants, the commander of the Peshmerga's 17th brigade, Colonel Karim Saty, said on Monday.

Jordanian king, Sudanese military ruler congratulate Netanyahu on election win
[IsraelTimes] Sudan’s Burhan urges further cooperation amid stalled normalization process; no details on call with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, who had frosty ties with Netanyahu during last term in power

The call was Netanyahu’s latest with a foreign leader since his right-religious bloc won a majority of seats in the November 1 vote, amid international hand-wringing over his far-right coalition partners. Netanyahu’s office also said Monday that he received a congratulatory letter from Sudan’s military ruler, Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.

Monday’s call with Abdullah came after Netanyahu spoke with several other leaders of Arab states that have ties with Israel, including UAE President and Abu Dhabi ruler Mohammed Bin Zayed, and Bahraini Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The normalization process with Sudan has been largely frozen amid political turmoil in Khartoum that saw the military carry out a coup last year, ending a two-year power-sharing arrangement aimed at paving the way to civilian rule.

Nonetheless, military leader al-Burhan has expressed interest in pushing normalization and even visiting Israel.

The incoming premier has not yet spoken with the leaders of Morocco or Egypt, which in 1979 became the first Arab state to sign a peace treaty with Israel.

Netanyahu was formally tasked with forming a government on Sunday and has been holding coalition negotiations with his ultra-Orthodox and far-right allies, who together with his Likud party will hold 64 of 120 seats in the next Knesset.

stressed in a speech on Sunday that "the enemy with all its components is a Zionist krazed killer, so all illusions of so-called peace, settlement and negotiations must be dropped and the language of sword and gun is the only way to deal with the Zionist enemy."

He reviewed the challenges surrounding the Paleostinian cause and the region, represented by the elections of the enemy, the rise of religious Zionism, the attempt to impose the enemy’s religious illusory sovereignty over the al-Aqsa Mosque and to divide it spatially and temporally, as well as the attempt to strike at all the elements of the Paleostinian cause, especially the abolition of the right of return of refugees.

Haniyeh said: "As long as Jerusalem is targeted in this sense, we have a horizon and a strategic priority, one that confirms that al-Quds is the core of the conflict between us and the enemy. al-Quds unites us."
"Endeavor to persevere!"
He called on all the peoples of the Arab and Islamic nation to "restore its unity" and said that its centerpiece should be Jerusalem.

Haniyeh further stressed the "need to adhere to all the constant principles of our people and nation, foremost of which is Jerusalem and the right of return."

#1  ...Ismail,

Bring all the swords and guns you want. The Zionists, on the other hand, are bringing tanks and tactical air support.

’s Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said on Sunday his country hopes to complete establishing 25.000 residential units in northern Syria by the end of 2022, after establishing 75.000 houses there.

This came in the opening event of a village including 600 residential units north of Idlib, northwest Syria.

"75.000 cement houses were built during two years, under instructions of Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than there are in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really most important...
," Soylu said.

"We will be completing 100,000... houses by the end of the year," Soylu said, at the ceremony in the newly-built settlement at Mashhad Ruhin, situated close to the Ottoman Turkish border.

The settlement of Mashhar Ruhin, the latest in series of Ankara-sponsored housing projects, includes some of 500 families now live in, and 100 more are expected to arrive in coming days.

Turkey launched three military operations against northern and northeastern regions in Syria. The first was "Euphrates Shield" operation in 2016 where it occupied Jarablus and al-Bab, the second was "Olive Branch" operation in 2018 where it occupied Afrin region, and the third was "Peace Spring" in 2019 which resulted in the occupation of the two cities of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Tel Abyad with their countryside.

On May 4, Erdogan announced a plan to send one million Syrian refugees back to their country.

On May 6, Soylu revealed Turkey’s intention to build about 250,000 housing units in northern Syria, as part of his country’s plan to resettle Turkey-based Syrian refugees.

Turkey has repeatedly and illegally deported Syrian refugees under the pretext of violating asylum laws and not amending their data regarding the temporary protection ID card, also known as Kimlik.

Since the beginning of 2022, Turkey has deported about 16.173 people through the Bab al-Hawa border crossing, according to an exclusive statistic obtained by North Press from the crossing administration.

Human Rights Watch (HRW) said in a report on October 24 Turkey arbitrarily arrested, detained and deported hundreds of Syrian refugees to Syria between February and July.
