Daily Evacuation Brief June 21-25, 2023

Daily Evacuation Brief | June 25, 2023
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • ETHNIC TROUBLE IN BADAKHSHAN – A few unconfirmed reports have stated that Tajik Taliban units had forced approximately 500 Pashtun Taliban out of the Province. It is not clear what may have transpired between the units but a general sense of distrust has persisted between Pashtun elements and the Tajik, Hazara, and Uzbek ethnic units. If the reports turn out to be true, it could be worrisome for Kandahar and would likely mean the Taliban will send units to the area to reestablish control and chastise local Tajik Taliban Commanders. If that happens, violence could ensue.

  • PAKISTAN ORDERS MILITARY AND POLICE UNITS TO TREAT AFGHAN REFUGEES BETTER – The Ministry of States and Frontier Regions has released guidance to its personnel in a memorandum that forbids harassment or mistreatment of Afghan refugees in Pakistan and urges restraint in deportation cases of any Afghan refugee who has a valid Proof of Registration Card and/or a NADRA issued Afghan Citizens Card. Only engagement in criminal/anti-state activity will be acceptable grounds for forced deportation. The memorandum was published and distributed across multiple agencies on 20 June 2023.

  • RELOCATION OPERATION FOR DURAND LINE REFUGEES AND SUSPECTED TTP APPEARS TO HAVE BEGUN – Persistent reporting from Balkh and Takhar Provinces suggests the Taliban have been steadily moving caravans of people who were living along the Durand Line to these two Provinces. Convoys loaded with people and their baggage have been photographed passing along the roadways. The men in the convoys appear to be armed and it is not clear if they are Taliban security forces members or, the refugees themselves. It is not clear where the majority of these refugees are intended to take up residence as of yet. The operations commenced roughly ten days ago and consist of approximately 10 vehicles in each serial. The operation has not been met with enthusiasm from residents already living in the North and depending on what the Taliban has planned for their long-term lodging and resettlement in these areas, it could elicit a violent response. Especially, if forced evictions begin to take place as has been seen with Hazara communities.

  • CANADA FLIES NEARLY 200 AFGHAN REFUGEES FROM THE UAE TO CANADA – As a part of the recent agreement between Canada and the UAE to resettle some of the remaining Afghan refugees who have been living in the country since the fall of Kabul, Ottawa flew 192 refugees on a chartered flight on Friday. Additional flights are expected.

  • GERMANY ANNOUNCES IT WILL RESUME EVACUATIONS NEXT WEEK – The German Foreign Ministry announced that it would begin accepting Afghan refugees again beginning next week. Flights are expected to start departing on 26 JUN. The German program paused at the end of March after several accusations arose that the program was being abused and some involved in the application portion of the program were profiting from Afghans. The program is expected to reach a maximum of 1,000 people monthly within weeks of relaunching. Those Afghans who have been accepted into the program and who are waiting in Pakistan and Iran will be prioritized for now.

  • CHINA OPENS A ‘SUPER OBSERVATION STATION FOR CLIMATE AND THE ENVIRONMENT’ ON TAJIKISTAN/AFGHANISTAN BORDER – China announced it had officially opened the observation station near Shahrtuz, Tajikistan yesterday. The observation post is part of a series of climate research monitoring stations funded by Lanzhou University which is also listed as one of at least 68 academic institutions that habitually work with China’s defense industry. Few believe the observation post is solely devoted to studying climate and its proximity to the border suggests it may have an intelligence or military role.

  • UNHCR AND UNODC ANNOUNCE PLANS TO ESTABLISH WOMEN’S SERVICE CENTER IN KABUL – The project is intended to support women-run businesses and will seek to provide training programs and support for female entrepreneurs. The center appears to have at least nominal support from the Taliban but sources say that Kandahar was taken by surprise over the announcement and may have something to say about its future.

  • MINISTER OF THE INTERIOR AGAIN DISMISSES PRESENCE OF ISIS-K IN AFGHANISTAN – Sirajuddin Haqqani stated that the terror group was no longer active in Afghanistan, but did admit the group may still have some ideological support in ‘remote areas’.

  • PAKISTAN/AFGHANISTAN BORDER CROSSINGS PERMITTED DURING EID – Unconfirmed reports suggest that Afghan travelers will be permitted to cross the border with only Tazkeras today from 0700hrs local until 2100hrs local. This information has not been confirmed so, potential travelers should call ahead to determine if the window of opportunity is legitimate. However, both countries have allowed similar free movement during holiday periods in the past.

[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY LASER FOCUSED ON TERRORISM ISSUE – Big T (terrorism) continues to be the primary focus of regional and international actors when it comes to dealing with the Taliban. In the last ten days, the concerns over terror groups regrouping in Afghanistan have been communicated by at least three regional bodies, the United Nations, and several individual nation-states. It has been a constant worry for the international community since the Taliban came to power and even states who may be willing to look the other way over gender discrimination policies have not relented on their insistence to combat terror threats. The Taliban, for their part, seem to be taking the fight against ISIS seriously but the many other groups who have a confirmed foothold in the country are left alone. Most analysts view the counter-ISIS operations as more of a competition for the Taliban than a serious effort to tackle the problem. The other groups that have been in Afghanistan have their sights set elsewhere, are externally financed, and pose no threat to the IEA. Many long-time observers are counting the days until a major attack occurs in China, India, Russia, etc.

  • KABUL SEARCH OPERATIONS – As previously reported, the Taliban are continuing house-to-house search operations in Kabul. At this time, it is still not clear who or what the Taliban are searching for. Searches that had begun in Police District 9 a few days ago have since shifted to Police District 3 (near the University). The search teams reportedly include women and anonymous sources say the searches are significantly more thorough than those conducted over the past few months. Another source stated that Taliban security checkpoints around Kabul appear to have been reinforced as well.

  • PROTESTS AND PLEAS SEEM TO BE HAVING AN EFFECT ON PAKISTAN’S TREATMENT OF AFGHANS – An international outcry took place after Pakistan’s recent round of crackdowns on Afghan refugees sheltering in the country. The United Nations, NGOs, the IEA, and several domestic refugee organizations have called on the authorities in Pakistan to halt the targeted operations. In response, Pakistani authorities have stated their intent to release more Afghans being held in custody and dispatched a Minister to visit the Torkham Gate to observe the situation firsthand. There is hope that the tensions will ease.

  • ANGRY CROWD APPREHEND 2 TALIBAN SECURITY FORCES MEMBERS IN GHOR – Locals told Hasht-E Subh journalists that local residents in the Ghelmin neighborhood of Firozkoh intervened and halted an attempt to sexually assault two females. The 2 Taliban were handed over to the local GDI office.

  • REPORT FINDS SCHOOLS IN IRAN CHARGING EXORBITANT FEES FOR ADMITTING AFGHAN STUDENTS – A source from the Children’s Aid Association said that some schools were charging fees that amounted to bribery to enroll Afghan students. The report alleges the fees constitute a form of bribery and that the administrators should be investigated. The report goes on to detail other obstacles that are often placed in the path of prospective students and concludes that Afghan parents are not aware of the procedures to report the activity.
CONFLICT TRACKER
Helmand: A video has been shared by an ALM [Afghan Liberation Movement] Twitter channel that purports to show Taliban security forces firing on several youth who were protesting in an undisclosed town, The video shows several young men who had been shot being evacuated to an hospital. Several hundred protestors are shown in the footage. It is not clear how many may have been killed or wounded in the incident.

NEXT 24 HOURS
KABUL SEARCHES TO CONTINUE – As the ongoing search operations have yet to yield a result we expect the operations to continue. Based on the information received from several sources who witnessed the searches, the effort appears to be focused on recovering something (a phone, computer, hard drive, etc). In a few cases, the families were moved out of the home while the search took place and very few questions were asked of the occupants. While not definitive, it seems to suggest that the Taliban are attempting to find an item. Particular attention was paid to electronics and some of the searchers threatened residents with violence for not providing passwords to devices.

  • KABUL SEARCH OPERATIONS, POLICE DISTRICT 9 – Early yesterday morning, Taliban security forces cordoned off an area in the Khoja Rawash neighborhood and began searching houses. The streets to the East of Camp Baron were blocked and all secondary roads into the area were closed. It is not clear what/who the Taliban are looking for but some of the vehicles that arrived to support the effort contained heavy weapons and demolition materials.

  • TAJIK TALIBAN COMMANDER QUESTIONS IEA LEADERSHIP IN VIDEO MESSAGE – A long-serving Taliban Commander in Panjshir, Abdul Hamid Khorasani, released a video message on social media in which he bitterly claims that non-Pashtun ethnicities are being marginalized by the Ministry of Defense. In his message, he claims his brother was dishonored when Pashtun Taliban members disarmed him. Khorasani is reputed to be a controversial figure and many in the Resistance have nicknamed him ‘The Taliban’s Slave’.

  • SAD NEWS, 78 AFGHANS/PAKISTANIS CONFIRMED AMONG THE DEAD IN GREEK SHIPWRECK – Identification of those who were lost in the doomed human-trafficking scheme is continuing but Greek authorities announced that 78 of those lost at sea hailed from Afghanistan and Pakistan. Authorities are interviewing the survivors to try and establish where the migrants had come from as well as investigating the transport network used by the traffickers to get the people on the ship. A source in Athens says that the migrants from Pakistan traveled through at least four different countries before embarking on the vessel and went on to say that a large investigation had been launched with international partners to find those responsible for this (and other) trafficking-related tragedies.

  • PHILIPPINES AFGHAN REFUGEE PLAN WILL BE DECIDED BY 15 JULY – The Philippines’ Ambassador to the US, Jose Manuel Romualdez, said his government would probably decide whether to accept a proposal to take in Afghan Refugees by 15 July. The Ambassador was quick to stress that those under consideration were not ‘refugees’ but were former employees of the US Government. It is not clear how many Afghans the Philippines will agree to accept should the request be approved.

  • RECENT INSPECTOR GENERAL REPORT FINDS DEFICIENCIES IN SIV EVALUATION PROCESS FOR AFGHANS – A report issued by the Department of Defense Inspector General’s Office in the US found that mistakes may have been made in the evaluation of SIV cases for other US Government agencies. The inconsistencies discovered in the investigation could have resulted in some SIV applicants being removed from consideration. It is not clear if the faults found will provide grounds for some SIV applicants to reapply. The report can be accessed HERE.

  • CSTO MEETING IN BELORUSSIA ISSUES STATEMENTS ON AFGHANISTAN – In a joint statement, envoys who attended the CSTO meeting in Minsk referenced the situation in Afghanistan. In the statement, the assembled diplomats urged the Taliban to; 1) Increase counter-terrorism measures in the country. 2) Halt the displacement/relocation of ethnic groups in Afghanistan.
CONFLICT TRACKER
Samangan: Reports confirm that 2 Taliban were killed in an operation by the UFA in the Darah Sof Payan district of the province. Information about the nature of the operation was not provided.

NEXT 24 HOURS
SEARCHES MAY CONTINUE IN KABUL – Based on past experience, it is likely the recent searches conducted in Police District 9 could expand to other neighborhoods in Kabul. As of publication, there has been no word if the Taliban found what they were looking for. At-risk Afghans may experience searches of their homes over the next few days.

[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • SUPREME LEADER ADMONISHES SECURITY FORCES, ISSUES NEW CONDUCT ORDERS – After several cases of ill-disciplined troops reportedly abusing citizens were discussed and elevated by elders, the Supreme Leader of the Taliban saw fit to issue a new order that limits what Taliban personnel can do to non-combatants. The order specifically forbids any Taliban member from beating people with sticks, whips, cables, or any other form of abuse without a court order. He specifies that only a court has the right to issue punishments to people in Afghanistan.

  • TALIBAN OFFER TO MEDIATE TALKS BETWEEN PAKISTAN AND THE TTP – The chief spokesman for the Taliban, Zabiullah Mujahid, told reporters that the regime would facilitate negotiations between Pakistan and the militant TTP as long as the result would be beneficial to regional stability. Mujahid was careful to distance the regime from the TTP in his remarks and once again claimed that the group had no foothold in Afghanistan. Most observers see the development as potentially positive for regional peace and stability.

  • ANOTHER CLASH REPORTED BETWEEN HAZARAS AND KOCHIS IN TAKHAR – The clash took place in the Bahuddin District and involved an unknown number of people on each side. Central to the dispute was a reputed demand by leaders of the newly arrived Kochis for Hazara families to leave their homes. Apparently, a deal between the Kochis and the Taliban was brokered that will affect approximately 300 Hazara families. Several injuries were reported as a result of the fighting but information has been difficult to gather.

  • CSTO MEETING BEGINS IN BELORUSSIA – Foreign Ministers from the Collective Security Treaty Organization convened in Minsk, Belorussia yesterday to discuss a full agenda that included Ukraine and Afghanistan. Of primary importance to the member states are concerns about the potential threat of terrorism in Afghanistan.

  • A MAN CONVICTED OF MASS MURDER WAS EXECUTED BY THE TALIBAN IN LAGHMAN PROVINCE – The capital sentence was carried out by the son of one of the condemned’s victims near a Mosque. The execution marks only the second officially sponsored execution to be carried out in public since the Taliban took power.

Tunisia: Prosecutors block planned release of opposition figure
[AFRICANEWS] Tunisia's state prosecutor on Friday appealed against a judge's decision to release opposition figure Chaima Issa four months after she was detained for "plotting" against the state, according to her lawyers.

Issa would have walked free following a decision taken by the counterterrorism court, but the prosecution appealed against it.

"They (the public prosecutor) have appealed. Why? I can't explain it, but it's politics too. It wasn't the public prosecutor who decided to appeal on his own initiative. On the contrary, he's there under orders. So we have to find out why there was this order and this counter-order. In fact, it's a sign of the instability in Tunisia," shares Ahmed Néjib Chebbi, president of the National Salvation Front.

The member of Tunisia's main opposition coalition, the National Salvation Front (NSF), was arrested along with some 20 other opposition members, media and business figures in February.

"I think there's only one political decision-making centre. It's that of the Head of State. All those around him are executors. And the judicial authorities are brought into line and apply directives. So personally, I think that the decision to release Chaïma Issa cannot be an autonomous decision by the examining magistrate. He must have received instructions to release her," adds the president of the NSF.

In July 2021, President Kais Saied froze parliament and dismissed the government, a decision that considerably undermined the only democracy to emerge from the Arab Spring uprisings.

His critics have dubbed the move a "coup" while human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
groups condemned a "witch hunt" aimed at "repressing" freedom of opinion in the North African country.

2,000 Pakistani Nationals Detained in Libya
[LIBYAREVIEW] On Friday, Pak’s ARY News reported that over 2,000 Paks who were attempting to move to Italia illegally, have been detained in Libyan jails.

Ihsan Ullah whose brother is in a Libyan jail, told ARY News that a "huge number of Pak nationals have tried to move to Italia illegally recently."

He said that his brother Aman Ullah has been arrested for more than a month. The agent named Usman from Hafizabad City has also fled Pakistain.

Last week, an Italia-bound fishing trawler reportedly carrying at least 800 people — including hundreds of Paks — capsized off Greece. Only 104 people are known to have survived, and the chance of finding more survivors was seen as virtually nil.

Pak Interior Minister, Rana Sanaullah assured that the government "would take strict action against the Greece boat tragedy, and an investigation report would be submitted within a week by duly fixing responsibility on those involved in negligence."

He informed the National Assembly that "amendments had been proposed in certain laws to give exemplary punishment to the elements involved in the heinous crime of human smuggling, and put the lives of abroad job seekers at risk." He said that a total of 281 Pak families had contacted the government to seek help, according to Rooters.

Boat Carrying 50 Migrants at Risk after Departing Libya
[LIBYAREVIEW] Alarm Phone, a charity that picks up calls from migrant vessels in distress, said on Friday that about 50 people who set sail on a boat from Libya are at risk of drowning in international waters.
Well, yes. That's part of the game
The relief group noted that it is in contact with the migrants, after their engine stopped working.

The migrants reported that water was entering the boat. It said it has informed the Libyan authorities, and requested a quick rescue operation.

“Alarm Phone is in contact with a group who escaped from Libya. The engine stopped working & the boat is adrift. People say water is entering the boat. We alerted authorities & demand a fast rescue to a place of safety!” Alarm Phone tweeted.

Earlier this month, a boat carrying hundreds of migrants capsized, resulting in the death of 78 individuals, in a tragic event off the coast of Greece. This devastating incident ranks among the most severe maritime catastrophes in Greece’s history.

The Italy-bound boat is believed to have departed from Tobruk, in eastern Libya. The Italian Coast Guard first alerted Greek authorities and Frontex about the approaching vessel.

The rescue operation, orchestrated on a grand scale, engaged a multitude of resources. These included local harbor police vessels, a frigate from the Greek navy, an air force aircraft and helicopter, and six other ships that were in the vicinity at the time.

Islamic Terrorists Kill Three Miners In Plateau State Community
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Suspected Islamic holy warriors that have been terrorising residents of Plateau State have reportedly killed three miners at a site around Tanjol in Jol community of Riyom Local Government Area of the state.

SaharaReporters had reported that no fewer than 200 people were gruesomely massacred in the villages of the Mangu , Barikin Ladi and Riyom Councils recently with little or no help from the government.

Although the police was yet to officially confirm the Friday's latest incident, SaharaReporters gathered the killings occurred at about 1am.

The National Publicity Secretary of Berom Youth Movement (BYM), Rwang Tengwong, who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust, on Saturday, described the killing as one too many.
But all the previous killings were A-OK?
Lamenting the constant attacks and killings in their communities, Tengwong, revealed that other miners and farmers around have fled the area, while two other persons were maimed.

He begged the government and security agencies to intensify efforts towards the safety of liveos and property in rural communities.

He said despite the deployment of mobile coppers in the area, killings have continued unabated.

Meanwhile,
...back at the palazzo, Count Guido had been cornered by the banditti...
SaharaReporters’ efforts to get official reaction of the State Police Command were unsuccessful as the Command's spokesperson, DSP Alfred Alabo, could not be reached at the time of filing a this report.

Nigerian Police Arrest Six Vigilante Members Employed By Crisis-Ridden Enugu State Community To Fight Rampaging Terrorists
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have reportedly arrested six leaders of the Enugu State vigilant group otherwise known as Neighbourhood Watch in Akpawfu community, Nkanu East Local Government Area of the state.

SaharaReporters gathered on Saturday that the arrest of the personnel had forced residents of the community to start deserting their homes as many also relocated their family members to the state capital and neighbouring communities.

The coppers who were reportedly arrested on Thursday, during a routine meeting with the police at the Agbani Area Command, include the Chief Security Officer of the Community, Chineme Amuziem Nwatu; Goddy Nnaji in charge of operation; Onyeka Nnaji, Godwin Nnaji, Monday Nnamani and Friday Nnamani.

Akpawfu has been the operational base of bandidos, who had since forced the people of the community to flee with several persons, particularly community leaders and vigilante personnel's killed and dozens of houses burnt, while schools, churches and markets were shut for almost one year in the community until the constitution of the local vigilantes.

SaharaReporters had reported that the community in fighting back the hoodlums, had assembled some of their youths, who volunteered to work as vigilante men, by helping the army and other security agencies to fish out the bandidos.

While normality started returning to the community, the villagers were hit with the news of the arrest of the vigilante men by the operatives of the Police Special Fraud Unit (SFU), Abuja during a routine meeting with the police at the Area Command, Agbani.

Expressing the concerns of the people of the community, the traditional ruler of Ajame Ameze Akpawfu Autonomous Community, Igwe Christopher Nnamani said he and the people of the community were shocked at the news of the arrest of the coppers by the police even without any information as to offence committed by them.

He said that the coppers had the recognition of the state government and the various security agencies in the state, lamenting that the little gains the community and the army had so far made might be disrupted with the arrest of the coppers without any reason adduced to the arrest.

He said, "immediately after the news of their arrest filtered in, a minibus filled with men came to the operational base of the coppers in the village, shouting their names and making the usual threats. So, we're completely not at ease over the arrest because we don't know what will happen next now that they have disorganized the local security in the village".

The monarch narrated the incident thus: "We have been facing serious security challenges in the past two years, but the event of Thursday, June 22 made me to shed tears. This is because as we are recovering from the insecurity situation in Akpawfu following the introduction of vigilante operatives, the situation started calming down with government security being able to have access to our community once again, culminating in the army finally settling in Akpawfu.

"So, after the army had settled in our place, they invited me and we took them round the villages, appealing to our people to inform their fleeing families that peace is returning. I also called on my people who have fled their homes to return home.

"Our security outfit that helped to return the peace is working with the army and police. The Divisional Police Officer of Nkanu East, had scheduled a meeting with our vigilante men today, Friday June 23, ahead of the final peace meeting in the community on Saturday, June 24.

"Yesterday being Thursday, June 22, my CSO informed me that the DPO invited them to a meeting at Agbani Area Command. I gave five of them the permission to go and also reminded them about the meeting on Friday with the police.

"But, to my greatest shock, as they got to Agbani, I was told that some coppers came from Abuja and handcuffed them to be taken to Abuja.

"I went to the state CID but couldn't find them. I also went to report to the commissioner of police, but he was not on seat. So, I called him later and he said he was aware of the officers from Force Headquarters. I later learned that they came from the Special Fraud Unit (SFU).

"As I'm talking to you, I have not seen the Abuja officers and I have not seen our security operatives. I was at the state police command headquarters but they gave me the impression that the vigilante men had been whisked to Abuja. None of them agreed that they were still in Enugu."

He called on the state government and the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to release the men to return to their duty post to avoid further damage to the security of the community.

Meanwhile,
...back at the wreckage, Captain Poindexter awoke groggily, his hand still stuck in the Ming vase...
SaharaReporters’ efforts to speak with the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, were unsuccessful as he didn't take his calls.

Also, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Ammani, didn't take his calls when contacted on telephone on Saturday evening.

Denmark repatriates woman and her two children from ISIS camp in NE Syria
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Note that no name or other details given.
Denmark repatriated on Thursday a woman and her two children from a camp of Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) family members in northeast Syria.

Shortly after touching down in Denmark, the mother was arrested and charged with the promotion of terrorist activities and obtaining entry and residence in a conflict area.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shattered spaceship, Fffflirgoll the Arcturan slithered stealthily toward the control room, where the humans had barricaded themselves...
the two children have been placed in the care of the municipality.

There are also two mothers and three children left in Roj camp, in northeast Syria.

Roj is one of several detention camps in northeast Syria that house thousands of people, including many foreign nationals, since the SDF and the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS declared the territorial defeat of the terror group in March 2019.

It currently houses 806 families, including 2,800 individuals of Arabs and foreigners, mostly women and kiddies of ISIS members who hail from 62 countries, according to previous report published by North Press.

ISIS lost its final stronghold in Syria in March 2019. The SDF, with the support of the US-led Global Coalition, defeated ISIS after fierce battles in the town of Baghouz in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, bringing an end to the so-called caliphate declared by the terrorist ISIS.

After Baghouz, thousands of ISIS holy warriors were transferred to prisons, while their families were transferred to Hawl and Roj camps in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES)-held areas.

Former Lal Masjid cleric, wife booked in terror, other cases
[Dawn] Separate cases were registered against former Lal Masjid
...literally the Red Mosque, located in Islamabad and frequented by all sorts of high govt officials. The proprietors, Ghazi Abdul Rasheed and Maulana Abdul Aziz Ghazi, unleashed their Islamic storm troopers on the city, shutting down whorehouses and beating people up who weren't devout enough. The Musharraf govt put an end to the nonsense by besieging the place. Abdul Aziz Ghazi was nabbed while he was trying to escape dressed up like a girl. BBC reported that the corpse count at 173, but other claims, usually hysterical, say there were up to 1000 titzup. Among their number was Abdul Rashid Ghazi. Everyone then said tut-tut and what a nice guy he had been...
holy man Maulana Abdul Aziz
...nutball holy man who runs the Lal Masjid in the heart of Pakistain's capital. After instigating a rebellion against the state in 2007, he was caught trying to sneak away dressed in a burka. He rejects democracy as un-Islamic, which it probably is...
and his wife at the cop shoppes of Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Kohsar under different charges, including Anti-Terrorism Act, police said.

One of the cases was registered at the Kohsar cop shoppe under section 121 of Pakistain Penal Code (waging or attempting to wage war or abetting waging of war against Pakistain), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 147 (punishment for rioting) and 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) along with ATA 7 (punishment for acts of terrorism), 11-W (printing, publishing or disseminating any material to incite hatred or giving projection to any person convicted for a terrorist act or any proscribed organization or an organization placed under observation or anyone concerned in terrorism) and 11(X) (responsibility for creating civil commotion) against the former holy man’s wife and 125 unidentified people, including women.

According to the FIR, on June 21 they blocked Jinnah Avenue and Fazl-e-Haq Road for over six hours. They also forcefully shut down shops and markets.

The holy man’s wife, Umme Hassan, threatened the CTD staff and asked TTP to kill them on sight weather they are in uniform or not, it said.

The other case was registered at the CTD cop shoppe under section 324 (murder attempt), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees), 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon) along with ATA 7 and 11EE (proscription of person) against Maulana Abdul Aziz and four other persons.

According to the FIR, the CTD team in response to a tip intercepted a vehicle for the recovery of weapons at Melody on June 21. Three persons, two of them armed with SMGs, disembarked from the vehicle and one of them started firing at the police.

Maulana Aziz was also sitting in the vehicle against whom several cases of terrorism were registered. Besides, he was also included in the Fourth Schedule of the ATA, it said, adding the holy man also fired at the police from inside the vehicle.

However,
Switzerland makes more than cheese...
the police succeeded to arrest three persons and recovered SMGs from them, the FIR said, adding they failed to produce permit or licence of the weapons.

4 Terrorists Gunned Down In Kupwara While Trying To Infiltrate Border From PoK
[OneIndia] Four murderous Moslems trying to infiltrate from Pakistain-Occupied Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
(POK) were bumped off in a joint operation conducted by Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police in Kupwara on Friday.

The shootout took place near the Line of Control (LOC) in the Machhal sector in Kupwara. The murderous Moslems were trying to infiltrate to the Indian side from POK, police said.

"In a joint operation, Army and Police have killed four murderous Moslems in Kala Jungle of Machhal sector in #Kupwara who were trying to infiltrate to our side from POJK," the Kashmir Zone Police said in a tweet.

In a tweet, Indian Army's Chinar Corps said: "In a Jt op launched by Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police, an infiltration bid was foiled today by alert troops along LOC in Macchal Sector, Kupwara. 04 x Terrorists eliminated and war-like stores have been recovered. Ops in progress."

This is the second such incident to take place in the Kupwara region. Security forces had foiled an infiltration bid last Friday as well when five bad boyz were potted in Jumagund area of Keran sector.

In recent times, security forces have been getting a large number of intelligence inputs of likely infiltration from across the LoC.

, a bigwig said on Saturday.

The deputy commissioner of Ketch district said the woman jacket wallah blew herself up on Commissioner Road in the district.

The vehicle of the security forces was also damaged in the earth-shattering kaboom, he added.

Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo condemned the Turbat blast saying the aim of terrorist’s incident is to halt the development of the province.

"The objectives of turbans will never succeed," the CM was quoted as saying in a statement.

He said the provincial government will ensure the welfare of the people and make efforts to end backwardness of the province.

"The determination and morale of the security forces cannot be lowered," he added.

Earlier in April this year, as many as four people — including two coppers — were martyred in a bombing targeting a police vehicle in Quetta’s city's Shahrah-e-Iqbal area. Officials had told Geo News that at least 15 people were also injured in the blast which left several cars and cycle of violences in the vicinity damaged. Those killed in the blast also include a minor girl.

Civil Defence Director Rafu Mandokhail said that three to four kilos of explosives were used in the blast, while the kaboom was installed in a cycle of violence.

The National Security Committee (NSC) — in a meeting held in April — also decided to kick start an all-out comprehensive operation against bully boy outfits to root out the menace of terrorism from the country.

The meeting was held in continuation with the NSC meeting after the terrorist attack on January 2, 2023, in Peshawar Police Lines, which claimed the lives of more than 80 people, mainly law enforcers.

security forces have been conducting operations against turbans with the determination to eliminate terrorism from the country and resolve to strengthen the sacrifices of its soldiers.

The Pakistain Institute of Peace Studies (PIPS), a think tank in Islamabad, stated that the number of terrorist attacks in the country have increased by 27% last year compared to 2021. At least 419 people were killed, while 734 were maimed in 262 terrorist attacks last year.
Dawn adds that the attack took place at Chakar Azam Chowk.

Unprovoked cross-LoC Indian firing martyrs two Pakistani civilians: ISPR
[GEO.TV] Two Pak civilians embraced martyrdom while another sustained injuries as they came under the Indian army fire in the Sattwal Sector from across the Line of Control (LoC), according to the military's media wing.

In a statement on Saturday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, "Indian Army, in a display of its usual inhumane approach towards innocent Kashmiris, opened indiscriminate fire onto a group of shepherds in the Sattwal Sector."
Simple but very well armed shepherds, as is the tradition.
Resultantly, it said, one civilian embraced martyrdom, while two other were critically injured.

However,
it was a brave man who first ate an oyster...
later in an update, the ISPR said corpse count rose to two as another injured of the Indian firing succumbed to injuries.

"In sequel to Indian Army unprovoked firing today while adopting an inhumane approach towards innocent Kashmiris at Sattwal Sector, one more civilian has embraced shahadat while one remains critically injured," the statement added.

The military’s media wing identified the deaders as Obaid Qayyum (s/o Muhammad Qayyum, age 22 years) and Muhammad Qasim (s/o Muhammad Din, age 55 years).

Both the deaders are resident of village Bara Dari Tetrinote of Tehsil Hajira in district Poonch, the ISPR said.

"Driven by a newfound geo-political patronage, Indian forces have embarked on a plan to take innocent lives to satiate their false narratives and concocted allegations," the military said, in an indirect reference to a joint statement issued after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. S I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass....
The ISPR said that Pakistain reserves the right to respond back in a manner of its choosing to protect Kashmiri lives in the LoC belt, regardless of the strong protest being launched from the Indian side.

"The Indian side is reminded to respect the basic human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
of Kashmiris, particularly, their inalienable right to till their lands," the statement concluded.

Iraq
Turkish forces bombard Mount Metina in Duhok province
[Rudaw] Ottoman Turkish warplanes on Saturday bombarded Mount Metina in Duhok province without causing casualties, a villager told Rudaw.

Fayeq Balavayi from Balava village said he saw Ottoman Turkish air forces bombarding the nearby Mount Metina at noon, adding that the bombardment continued for hours.

No civilians were harmed because the targeted area is banned from civilians due to frequent festivities between Ottoman Turkish army and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) there.

PKK is an gang struggling for the increased rights of Kurds in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
but it is listed as a terrorist group by Ankara.

Turkey has recently upped its attacks against the PKK in the Kurdistan Region. It has also intensified its targeting of Kurdish fighters in northern Syria due to their alleged ties with the PKK.

Baghdad has repeatedly condemned Turkey’s violations of its borders and called on gangs not to use Iraqi territory to attack neighbouring nations. Civilians are frequently caught in the crossfire between Ottoman Turkish forces and the PKK and hundreds of villages have been emptied with families moving in search of safety.

PKK announced a unilateral ceasefire in February due to devastating quakes in Turkey and later extended it to include the Ottoman Turkish elections period. The group ended the truce earlier this month.
It’s a day ending in -day, so the odds were good.
From Shafaq News:
Turkey's warplanes bombed sites of the anti-Ankara Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in Duhok's northern district of Amadiyah, a source reported on Saturday.

"PKK sites in the vicinity of the Plava and Kuherzi villages were hit by a series consecutive Arclight airstrike

"The size of damages is not immediately clear," the source concluded.

Israeli guard lightly hurt in shooting at checkpoint near Jerusalem; attacker killed
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian gunman shot after opening fire on Qalandiya checkpoint in West Bank; civil guard hit in shoulder by bullet ricochet, taken to hospital

A civilian security guard was lightly injured early Saturday morning after a Paleostinian gunman shot up Israeli security forces at the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem. The attacker was killed, police and medics said.

In a statement, Israel Police said the gunman approached the checkpoint between Jerusalem and Ramallah on foot at around 2:40 a.m., and opened fire.

Officers and civilian guards fired back, killing the shooter, police said.

Paleostinian media identified the attacker as 18-year-old Ishak al-Ajlouni, from the nearby town of Kafr ’Aqab.

Police said security forces also seized the assault rifle and several magazines from the gunman.

The injured guard, a 22-year-old, was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital for treatment after suffering a wound to his shoulder as a result of a bullet ricochet, the Magen David Adom ambulance service said.

MDA added that it had also taken another civilian guard, a 24-year-old, to the hospital with mild blunt force trauma. The cause of his injury was not immediately clear.

Jerusalem district police chief Deputy Commissioner Doron Turgeman toured the scene after the attack and hailed the forces for their quick response.

"The identification of the terrorist who opened fire was immediate, and the force operating the crossing acted in a precise and professional manner until [they] neutralized the threat... ending the event exactly as is expected of them," Turgeman said.

Earlier Friday, an Israeli woman who tried to stab soldiers was shot and maimed in the northern West Bank, in what was thought to be a potential attempt to die by suicide.

In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces said the woman aged around 40 approached the soldiers near the Tapuah Junction and tried to stab them. "In response, the soldiers opened fire in her direction to remove the danger," the military said.

The Tapuah Junction has seen a number of terror attacks in recent years and is some 10 kilometers (six miles) from Eli, where four Israelis were killed in a shooting on Tuesday. Since then, hundreds of right-wing Death Eaters have rampaged through Paleostinian towns and fields, setting homes and cars on fire, and terrorizing residents. One Paleostinian man was killed in unclear circumstances during a settler riot in Turmus Ayya.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Senate, Tremulus continued with his speech against Varius and his cohorts, watching as his colleagues dropped off to sleep one by one...
on Saturday, Paleostinian health officials said a man maimed during festivities with Israeli troops in the West Bank city of Nablus on Friday morning had died of his wounds. The Paleostinian Authority health ministry said 39-year-old Tareq Mousa Idris was shot in the abdomen during the festivities.

The IDF had said Friday that troops exchanged gunfire with Paleostinians during the raid in Nablus. Three suspects were detained in the city, and no soldiers were hurt, the IDF added.

Gunfire toward West Bank settlement; no injuries reported
[IsraelTimes] IDF says it found shell casings in the area and is searching for suspects; no damage to buildings

The settlement of Avnei Hefetz in the northern West Bank came under fire Friday evening, the military said in a statement.

There were no injuries or damage reported.

The Israel Defense Forces said troops found shell casings during a search of the area and that a hunt was underway for suspects.

Over the past year, Paleostinian button men have repeatedly targeted troops carrying out arrest raids, military posts, Israeli settlements and civilians on roads, especially in the northern West Bank.

Avnei Hefetz was also attacked in April, with a number of buildings damaged when a suspected Paleostinian gunman opened fire. Troops found some 30 shell casings nearby, as well as bullet holes in several homes. There were no injuries.

Last month a man was injured when a Paleostinian gunman shot up Israeli vehicles driving near Avnei Hefetz.

Since the beginning of the year, Paleostinian attacks in Israel and the West Bank have killed 24 people.

According to a tally by The Times of Israel, 132 West Bank Paleostinians have been killed during that span, most of them during festivities with security forces or while carrying out attacks, but some were uninvolved civilians and others were killed under unclear circumstances.

On Wednesday, a spokesperson for the Shin Bet said it has recorded 147 "significant" terror attacks in Israel and the West Bank this year, including 120 shootings.

The Shin Bet said security forces have foiled 375 significant attacks so far this year, including some 300 planned shootings. "Significant attacks" is a term that encompasses shootings, bombings, car rammings and kidnappings.

In 2022, Israeli security officials recorded nearly 300 shooting attacks, the vast majority in the West Bank, and said the military and Shin Bet foiled around 500 planned significant attacks.

Off-duty soldier among 4 detained in latest settler attack on Palestinian village after 4 Israelis gunned down near Eli Tuesday
History shows that when the government does not succeed, for whatever reason, in protecting the citizenry from violence and abuse, citizens will take their protection into their own hands, with considerably less discrimination as to their targets. In this case, Hamas announced the Eli gunmen — one shot mid-attack by a civilian, the other hunted down by the IDF — belonged to Hamas’s military wing, the Izzadin al-Qassam brigades.
[IsraelTimes] Serviceman is suspected of involvement in Saturday rampage through Umm Safa in West Bank, where settlers set vehicles and homes ablaze and opened fire on civilians

An off-duty Israeli soldier was one of four suspects detained over a violent mostly peaceful attack by settlers on a Paleostinian village in the West Bank on Saturday.

Several dozen settlers rampaged through the village of Umm Safa, setting fire to vehicles and homes, and opening fire, on the fifth consecutive day of vigilante attacks targeting Paleostinian civilians since a Paleostinian terror shooting on Tuesday in which four Israelis were killed outside the settlement of Eli.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, the soldier was detained by police after the rioting and was handed over to the Shin Bet security agency for further questioning. He was not on duty at the time of the incident.

Earlier in the day, another three suspects were detained, Hebrew-language media reported. The IDF said that one suspect was detained by troops amid the rioting in Umm Safa, and was handed over to police.

In the wake of Tuesday’s deadly terror attack carried out by Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw,-affiliated button men at a West Bank gas station, recent days have seen hundreds of settlers riot inside Paleostinian towns and villages, setting fire to homes, and cars, and even opening fire in some cases, including in Umm Safa on Saturday.

According to Army Radio, the settlers had driven to the village to carry out the attack. Observant Jews do not drive on the Sabbath, unless it is a life or death situation, based on the Jewish legal principle of pikuah nefesh — as it’s known in Hebrew — which trumps nearly all other religious requirements.

Later on Saturday, IDF chief Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, Shin Bet head Ronen Bar, and Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai issued a joint statement strongly condemning the recent string of settler attacks on Paleostinians in the West Bank, branding them as "nationalist terrorism in the full sense of the term."

"The security forces are working against these rioters, risking the lives of IDF soldiers, Israel Police officers and Shin Bet officers. This violence increases Paleostinian terror, harms the State of Israel and the international legitimacy of the security forces to fight Paleostinian terror, and diverts the security forces from their main mission against Paleostinian terror," the three bigwigs said.

"The IDF, the Shin Bet and Israel Police are committed to continuing to act with determination and with all the means at our disposal to maintain security and the law in Judea and Samaria. The IDF will divert and increase forces to prevent such incidents in Judea and Samaria, and the Shin Bet will expand arrests, including administrative detentions against the rioters who act in a violent mostly peaceful and extreme manner inside the Paleostinian villages," the statement said.

The IDF has admitted to having "failed" in stopping other settler riots in recent days.

Hours after the Tuesday terror attack near the settlement of Eli where four Israelis were bumped off at a gas station, an unknown number of settler vigilantes rampaged through several Paleostinian towns in the northern West Bank, including Huwara, the scene of another deadly settler riot earlier this year after a terror attack.

The next day, hundreds of settlers also tore through the Paleostinian towns of Turmus Ayya and Urif — shortly after the victims of the attack were buried — shooting at residents, setting homes, cars and fields on fire, and terrorizing residents.

One Paleostinian — 27-year-old Omar Qattin — was killed in unclear circumstances in Turmus Ayya.

Israeli police said on Friday they had arrested four people in connection with the violence, without giving further details. They were being questioned by the Shin Bet security agency.
An earlier Times of Israel article, about the Hamas-led funeral for the Eli murderers adds:
A Hamas spokesman claimed responsibility for the Eli attack on Tuesday, describing it as a “heroic” response to the deaths of seven Palestinians during heavy clashes between gunmen and Israeli troops in Jenin on Monday. Hamas said both the terrorists were its members.

Channel 12’s Palestinian affairs correspondent Ohad Hemo said the attack had apparently been planned, directed and financed by Hamas in Gaza. This would mark an upgrade in the group’s activities in the West Bank.

The attack is seen as being part of a wider strategy by the group to escalate tensions in the West Bank and portray itself as the true face of the Palestinian “resistance,” in contrast to the ruling Palestinian Authority, which much of the Palestinian public perceives as weak, corrupt and ineffective.

According to a recent survey by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research, if elections were held today, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh would receive support from 56% of the Palestinian population while current PA President Mahmoud Abbas would win only 33%. The PA has blocked elections from being held in the Palestinian territories since 2006.

Hezbollah set up armed posts in Israeli territory on Lebanon border 2 weeks ago
[IsraelTimes] IDF says matter ’being handled with all relevant parties’; Israel aims to have UN peacekeepers remove tents placed over Blue Line, manned by terror operatives

The Hezbollah terror group established two tents in Israeli territory on the Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
border some two weeks ago, and the army had yet to clear them out as of Wednesday.

The story was first published by the Kan public broadcaster on Wednesday, citing details from a recent closed meeting of the Knesset’s Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee.

The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement in response that "the matter is known and being handled with all the relevant parties."

Israel and Lebanon do not have a formal border due to territorial disputes; however, they largely abide by the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
-recognized Blue Line between the two countries.

The Blue Line is marked with blue barrels along the border and is several meters from the Israeli fence in some areas, which is built entirely within Israeli territory.

The tents, manned by armed Hezbollah members, were established over the internationally recognized Blue Line in the contested Mount Dov region, also known as the Shebaa Farms — an area claimed by Israel, Lebanon and Syria.

The IDF said it aims to deal with the tents through diplomatic means and have a UN peacekeeping force remove the tents, but threatened that it may use force eventually.
Try a flamethrower
The IDF believes the tents do not pose a threat to Israel’s security, despite violating its illusory sovereignty.

Hezbollah has dozens of observation posts along Israel’s northern border, several meters from the Blue Line. According to the IDF, these positions represent a violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended the 2006 war. The resolution calls for gangs besides the official Lebanese military and peacekeeping United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) to remain north of the country’s Litani River.

The IDF has been working on a new border wall with Lebanon to replace an aging fence in the area. The engineering work, which typically takes place to the north of Israel’s fence but within Israeli territory, has sparked several minor festivities on the border in recent months.

UNIFIL has stepped in at times and stopped the engineering work after complaints by the Lebanese Army of Israeli forces allegedly crossing the Blue Line.

The new Hezbollah posts were believed to have been established by the terror group in response to the IDF engineering work.

UNIFIL has been in Lebanon since 1978. Composed of nearly 10,000 soldiers, it is deployed in the south of the country — a stronghold of Hezbollah — to maintain a barrier with Israel, as the two countries technically remain at war.

UNIFIL did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the Hezbollah tents.

The Hezbollah terror group has long been the IDF’s most significant adversary on Israel’s borders, with an estimated arsenal of nearly 150,000 rockets and missiles that can reach anywhere in Israel.

Work on a new border wall with Lebanon began in 2018. By 2020, the military and Defense Ministry Borders and Security Fence Directorate had completed only 15 kilometers (9 miles) of concrete walling along the approximately 130-kilometer (80-mile) border in order to protect the 22 adjacent Israeli villages.

Eventually, the plan is to construct a barrier along the entire border — a project that would cost NIS 1.7 billion ($470 million).

Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. names fatalities in Balata refugee camp, day after group claimed credit for Jenin roadside kaboom that maimed Israeli troops

At least two Paleostinian teens were killed late Tuesday when explosives they were handling accidentally blew up near Nablus in the restive northern West Bank, Paleostinians.

The Islamic Jihad terror group announced the deaths in a statement of condolence Tuesday, a day after claiming responsibility for a massive roadside kaboom that maimed eight soldiers.

The two fatalities were named by the group as 17-year-old Mohammed Hashah and 18-year-old Alaa Hafnawi. A third person was critically maimed in the blast, according to Paleostinian media.

The explosion took place in the Balata refugee camp, a cramped warren of buildings and alleys adjacent to Nablus. Along with Jenin, the city has been the focus of a year-long military offensive focused on stemming terror emanating from the northern West Bank.

On Monday, troops who entered Jenin to arrest a pair of Paleostinian suspects were caught in intense festivities, during which they were targeted by bombs, including a large roadside kaboom that hit a military jeep, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

The local Islamic Jihad wing, known as the Jenin Battalion, claimed its members had detonated bombs near IDF vehicles and then targeted them with gunfire.

The IDF said that "as the security forces exited the city, a military vehicle was hit by an bomb, damaging the vehicle."

Footage shared by Paleostinian media outlets showed the roadside kaboom being detonated next to Israeli army vehicles that were engulfed in smoke. Another clip showed the IDF vehicles coming under fire. Gunfire and explosions could be heard across the city in other clips shared online.

Eight soldiers and Border Police officers were maimed in the roadside blast and gunfire, the IDF and police said. The IDF deployed a helicopter gunship for air cover to evacuate the maimed troops — the first time in decades that air strikes were launched against the West Bank.

Last month, Paleostinians in Nablus set off a large makeshift bomb against an Israeli military convoy that was wrapping up an operation, lightly injuring one soldier.

Footage published online showed the bomb exploding as an army jeep passed a makeshift roadblock set up by Paleostinians.

The Nablus-based Lion’s Den terror group grabbed credit for setting off the bomb, as well as opening fire on troops as they left the city following an arrest raid.

Russian warplanes hit opposition-held areas in Latakia, Idlib
[NPASYRIA] On Saturday evening, Russian warplanes renewed their Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s on the countryside of Idlib and Latakia in northwest Syria.

Military sources in the Ottoman Turkish-backed factions of the Syrian National Army (SNA) stated that Russian warplanes targeted with several airstrikes the outskirts of the villages of Sarjah and Bzabur in Jabal al-Zawiya, south of Idlib, in addition to al-Kabina in Jabal al-Akrad north of Latakia.

They added that Russian airstrikes coincided with artillery and rocket shelling by Syrian government forces against residential areas in Jisr al-Shughur city in western Idlib, as well as against the villages of al-Enkawi, Sirmaniyah, and al-Ziyarah in Sahl al-Ghab (al-Ghab Plain), west of Hama.

This afternoon, two non-combatants were killed in Russian airstrikes on civilian homes in the village of Bsbeit in the western countryside of Jisr al-Shughur.
