-Lurid Crime Tales-
Notorious double child killer Howard Steven Ault will be executed over infamous 1996 sex killings of two young sisters aged 7 and 11, which saw him rape oldest victim in front of her younger sibling then strangle both
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Howard Steven Ault, 57, was initially sentenced to death in 2000, but several legal challenges and changes to Florida's death row process have meant two further juries have weighed in, culminating in a 9-3 vote this week to execute him.

He shocked the nation almost 30 years ago when he lured DeAnn Emerald Mu’min, 11, and her younger sister, Alicia Sybilla Jones, 7, to his home with the promise of Halloween candy.

After abducting the girls, he raped Mu'min in front of her younger sister before strangling them both and stashing them in his attic.

Jurors deliberated for two days before voting 9-3 to sentence Ault to death again, with his fate decided by the non-unanimous ruling thanks to a new law introduced by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

The governor signed a bill in April allowing the death penalty in his state to be approved with a jury vote as low as 8-4.

Ault has been imprisoned since his arrest shortly after the murders, but has been on-and-off death row several times despite his heinous crime.

Three years after his initial conviction in 2000, the Florida Supreme Court ordered Ault to undergo a retrial over concerns about the jury selection in his trial.

He was then resentenced in 2007 for the murders of the young girls in a 9-3 vote, and he sat on death row for over a decade until another Florida Supreme Court ruling in 2017.

The court found Florida's death penalty process was unconstitutional as it did not require jurors to make a unanimous decision.

With Ault waiting for yet another sentencing hearing, the case was complicated by the 2018 Parkland school shooting, as the gunman who killed 17 was spared the death penalty as the jury only voted 12-9 for death.

Amid outrage over the jury's vote, DeSantis pushed for lowering the threshold, ultimately leading to Ault's third death sentence this week.

According to a New York Times article from after his arrest in 1996, Ault was known as a longtime sex offender in the state of Florida who was on house arrest for an unrelated sex crime involving another child at the time of the sisters' murders.

He quickly confessed to the killings, and led investigators to their bodies in the attic of his building.

Police found that he had befriended the sisters and their mother shortly before the killings, and although he was on house arrest, Ault was not monitored electronically and was only subject to visitations from his probation officer.

His arrest sparked outrage as many questioned why a convicted child predator was able to have contact with the young girls, with Ault owning a 10-year criminal record at the time.

Now, although a jury voted to sentence him to death for the third time, he will still be subject to formal sentencing by a judge.

He is scheduled for a status hearing on April 11.

#8  Hey for $3 an execution can be carried out, one shotgun slug to the head and a second one for making sure. If you want to get super fancy, you could use Frag-12 rounds but that might cost a few hundred.

But honestly two good old 12 gauge pumpkin balls to the nogging are more than sufficient. And if you put down enough plastic, clean up is easy.

US Military is Tracking High-Altitude Balloon Over Colorado – Pentagon Scrambles Jets to Investigate
[Gateway] Here we go again.
The launch site was where again? Oh, no one is discussing that ?
The US Military is tracking a high-altitude balloon over Colorado. The Pentagon sent jets to investigate.
Colorado? On the FBI's radar is it? Why not wait until it's over Indianapolis ?
"The balloon was intercepted by NORAD fighters over Utah, who determined it was not maneuverable and did not present a threat to national security. NORAD will continue to track and monitor the balloon," NORAD said in a statement. "The FAA also determined the balloon posed no hazard to flight safety."

The balloon’s origin and purpose is unclear.
Everyone still have cell phone coverage? No problem then right ?
CBS reported:
The U.S. is tracking a high-altitude balloon flying over the Western part of the country, U.S. officials told CBS News. Military aircraft have spotted the balloon and determined it is not a threat, but its origin and purpose are still unknown, the officials said.

Sources familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the balloon was drifting east in the jetstream on Friday. Earlier in the day, one official said the balloon was over Colorado. Its presence prompted enough concern that the military sent aircraft to investigate.
Anonymous sources again is it ?
Last January the Biden administration knew about the Chinese spy balloon traversing across the continental United States, from Alaska to the Carolinas, but sought to conceal this from the American public.

A newspaper photographer first spotted the balloon over Montana.
A pesky news man was it? NORAD remained clueless or silent, or both.
The Chinese spy balloon first entered US airspace over Alaska in late January 2023.

The balloon soared over nuclear silos and military installations across the US with Joe Biden’s full approval.

U.S. officials have reported tracking a high-altitude balloon flying over the Western United States, its origin and intent currently unknown. Detected by military aircraft, the balloon was seen moving at an altitude of over 40,000 feet and carried a small cube-shaped payload. Initially spotted over Colorado, it was expected to move over Georgia.

Bring it down and examine the payload. The mystery will probably soon be resolved. Unless of course a joint project is in play, or our Gov't is already well aware of the purpose.

#6  ^ Curiously enough, a randomly drifting GPS sensor could map the orbital GPS constellation.

The way it used to work, without digging too deep...your GPS watch polls 'visible' satellites and captures the polling response time delay. Pretty much a "who are you and what time is it?" broadcast.
The delay, with sat ID, from request to response is correlated against a embedded orbital location table. A select number(4?) of responses with the lowest delay are used to triangulate your location. Busy little watch.

In reverse order the process could be used to identify gaps in coverage determined by non-response or long time delays.

US military- A demographic overview
[USAfacts] As of September 2023, the US military consisted of 2.86 million people worldwide. The CIA reports that the US has the world’s third-largest active military by size, surpassed only by China and India in 2023.

These forces are spread across six main service branches: the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and, as of 2019, the Space Force – all tasked to protect and service the US.

The makeup of the US military has changed over time due to external circumstances, like war and geopolitical tension, and internal change, such as the end of racial segregation and the inclusion of women into the armed forces.
And it gets more detailed from there.

Opposition's call for presidential election date in Senegal goes unmet
[AFRICANEWS] Opponents of the postponement of the presidential election and the extension of Macky Sall's mandate in Senegal
... a nation of about 14 million on the west coast of Africa bordering Mauretania to the north, Mali to the east, and a pair of Guineas to the south, one of them Bissau. It is 90 percent Mohammedan and has more than 80 political parties. Its primary purpose seems to be absorbing refugees...
were left disappointed as their call for a specific election date went unanswered by the President.

The opposition had been pushing for the election to take place in March, aligning with the constitutional deadline of April 2nd for the handover of power. However,
man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them...
President Macky Sall has stated that he is awaiting the outcomes of a dialogue he initiated last week before committing to a precise election date.

This dialogue, set to take place next Monday and Tuesday, could potentially involve participation from imprisoned opposition candidate Bassirou Diomaye Faye of the former Pastef party, as well as his mentor Ousmane Sonko. President Macky Sall has indicated openness to Sonko's release.

The opposition's demand for clarity on the election date underscores the heightened political tensions in Senegal, as various factions await the next steps in the electoral process.

''I will end my term on April 2nd'', Senegal's president pledges
[AFRICANEWS] Senegal's president has vowed to abide by the law and to not extend his mandate beyond April 2nd.

Macky Sall, who is wrapping up two terms in office, postponed the presidential election for 10 months, citing unresolved disputes over who could run.

But his move was struck down by the Constitutional Court as illegal.

He spoke Thursday (Feb.22) on live television.

"Having been sworn in on 2 April 2019, 2 April 2024 completes the five-year calendar, so that's the end of the Mandate. And I intend to stop at this mandate. After April 2, I intend to step down as President of the Republic."

Sall's clarifications come after the ruling coalition voted to extend his rule in early February.

At the time, some opposition politicians left the session as the national assembly rescheduled the election for December.

Opposition groups are now keeping pressure on Sall who said he will hold talks next week.

"The country cannot remain without a President of the Republic. The forthcoming dialogue will certainly have to decide or propose whether a consensus can be reached on the way forward. I hope that the [political] players who are to gather around me to look at the nation's best interests [...] I'll listen to what the dialogue has to say, and after the dialogue, the Constitutional Council will certainly be able to clarify things."

Fifteen out of the twenty candidates approved to contest in the delayed presidential elections have united in a call for the vote to be conducted no later than April 2nd.

In a historic ruling, the Constitutional Court ordered the government to set a new election date as soon as possible, which it is yet to do.

Senegal has been seen as one of West Africa’s most stable democracies, but disputes over the election have plunged the country into a political crisis that has sparked deadly protests.

At least three people have been killed by security forces and dozens injured

Suspect in alkali attack found drowned in River Thames, police confirm
[GEO.TV] The suspect in the harrowing alkali attack, Abdul Ezedi, has been confirmed dead.

The Metropolitan Police revealed that Ezedi's lifeless body was recovered from the River Thames on Monday, bringing an end to the intense manhunt that followed the horrifying assault in Clapham last month.

The victim, a mother-of-two who suffered a corrosive chemical attack alongside her eight and three-year-old children, is now in stable, pH balanced condition and no longer sedated, according to the latest update from the police.

Commander Jon Savell expressed the ongoing commitment to investigating the atrocious attack, saying, "As the public would expect, our inquiries continue into this atrocious attack. We have still not been able to speak to her but hope to as soon as she is well enough."

Ezedi's body, discovered near Tower Bridge at Tower Pier, has undergone a post-mortem examination, and the formal identification was completed on Thursday. The Metropolitan Police said that a file will be passed to the coroner, marking a significant step towards the closure of this distressing chapter.

The suspect, from the Newcastle area, committed the assault on January 31, throwing a burning chemical over the woman and injuring one of the children. The subsequent manhunt involved tracing Ezedi's movements through CCTV footage, eventually revealing his tragic end in the River Thames.

As the investigation unfolds, the Metropolitan Police continues its relentless pursuit of justice, aiming to shed light on the motives behind this horrifying alkali attack.

British colonel: unsuccessful Trident missile launch undermines Britain's position
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The unsuccessful launch of the Trident II intercontinental ballistic missile undermined London's position at a time of supposed threat of nuclear war. This opinion was expressed by retired British Army Colonel Hamish de Bretton-Gordon in an article published on February 21 in The Telegraph newspaper.

According to the expert, the news of the unsuccessful launch of Trident II is of serious concern because, according to him, “the threat of a nuclear exchange with Russia has never been higher.”

The retired colonel also clarified that any questions about the reliability of the Trident system, in his opinion, are a cause of “deep” concern.

“If [Russian President Vladimir ] Putin decides that Trident is a dud and we don’t ensure victory for Ukraine, we may find ourselves in a situation where we have to repel a Russian invasion of the Baltics with the few tanks we still have, ” states de Bretton-Gordon.

He noted that he believes that because of this, data about malfunctions in critical containment systems should not be known to the public. The retired colonel also expressed disappointment in the people appointed by the government to “speak on his behalf”, who, according to him, have a poor understanding of this complex topic, bringing more confusion than clarity.

“This should serve as a wake-up call. Now is not the time to risk our defense capabilities,” he added.

As Regnum reported, on February 20, it became known about the unsuccessful launch of a Trident II missile from the nuclear submarine HMS Vanguard. The media clarified that the incident occurred back in January during military exercises off the coast of Florida.

Later it became known that due to the unsuccessful launch of Trident II, the head of the British Ministry of Defense, Grant Shapps, almost died. The missile fell into the ocean a few meters from the British nuclear submarine on which he was at that moment.

President Putin said on February 20 that Russia has always been a country that opposed the militarization of space. He clarified that Moscow, on the contrary, proposed to greatly strengthen joint work in space.

In November 2023, Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov also called accusations against Russia of being ready to start a nuclear war absolutely insane. He emphasized that Russia is a large, powerful and strong country, and therefore takes its potential extremely seriously.

Putin said on June 16 last year that Russia has large stockpiles of nuclear weapons, but will only use them in the event of an immediate threat to its statehood.

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said on February 22 that the threat of the use of nuclear weapons is real and everything must be done to prevent this scenario from happening.

Sadly, the slow devolution of American prosperity is evident everywhere if you look carefully. Even at upscale places you find bread on display with 1 day left on freshness labels that are printed in tiny typeface now (I wonder why), produce that is too-early-to-market, and dented cans and resealed caselots. Creeping sovietization of choice on product choices has begun as well. The back-end of empire hints if you look closely.

#12  "Shrinkage" or theft was averaging 1 1/2% for the WalMarts and Lowes in our area two years ago and the number was trending up. They have the means and laws to combat this, but have not made it their focus...they just pass the 1 1/2% burden on to the customer. For perspective, that 1 1/2% equates to roughly $30,000 per store every month or so, which is the equivalent to the average take in a front door bank robbery. But they (WalMart and Lowes) minimize it by calling it "shrinkage." Lowes even makes it worse by giving the person "returning" the stolen items a store credit card (worth full price for the returned item) which is easily marketable on the street or traded for narcotics.

One-on-One with Kash Patel on the Missing Trump Binder
[Gateway] Attorney, author, and esteemed Russiagate investigator Kash Patel sat down with The Gateway Pundit founder Jim Hoft this week to discuss the latest reports on the Russiagate investigation.

The Gateway Pundit reached out to Kash earlier in the week, hoping to get his reaction to the latest Substack reports on the Russiagate scandal by investigative journalists Michael Shellenberger, Matt Taibbi, and Alex Gutentag.

The three investigators made headlines earlier this month with their series of reports on the Russiagate scandal to get Trump.

Kash Patel led the original investigation in Congress when then Rep. Devin Nunes hired him to investigate the Deep State’s lawless investigation and attempted coup against candidate and then President Trump. It was Kash who was able to dig up significant documents that pinned what he discovered was a hoax by powerful government officials to take down Donald Trump. What Kash discovered was that there was not a single piece of evidence to tie Trump to Russia after his interviews with over 50 government officials and that the scandal went back to Barack Obama’s administration.

Kash and Rep. Nunes released their famous House Intelligence Committee report in 2018 that blew the scandal wide open. Deep State and Democrat officials waged an unprecedented war on Donald Trump using the full weight of the federal government and the assistance of foreign intelligence agencies. This was the greatest political scandal in US history.

In 2020, director Amanda Milius produced "The Plot Against the President" by Lee Smith based on the courageous work of Kash Patel, Devin Nunes, and others.

Red State Governors Compete to Cut Taxes, Blue States Fall Further Behind
[Townhall] When President Biden tries to brag about the economy, he’s attempting to steal credit for the economic success of red states.

Republican-controlled states are continuing to achieve exciting policy wins, including more than two-dozen state income tax cuts since 2020.

Bloomberg reported the Southeast now accounts for over two-thirds of U.S. job growth since 2020. Wages grew at a higher rate in red states than blue states from 2022-23. Companies earned more in these states.

"For the first time in our nation’s history, just six states in the Southeast, including Tennessee, are contributing more to America’s GDP than the entire Northeast — that includes New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania," Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee said during his State of the State Address.

Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina have led the way. Three of those states have no income tax, Georgia and South Carolina recently cut their income taxes, and North Carolina has led the long-term move to flatten and reduce income taxes, now ratcheting down to a 2.49% rate.

This is part of the larger success of low tax states: No-income-tax states grew at double the rate of the national average and their state GDP grew by 56% more (Tax Foundation). Eight of the top 10 in-migration states have no income tax, a flat tax, or are moving toward a flat tax.

Americans are moving, growing families, and working in states that are cutting taxes or already have no income tax. Meanwhile blue states, controlled by Democrats, are hemorrhaging people and businesses. California, New York, and Illinois led the way in population loss since 2020.

American 'Maidan': who will Soros take to the streets if Trump wins
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Malek Dudakov

[REGNUM] In the United States, another contender for the title of eminence grise of American politics has appeared. He became the young heir to the huge empire of George Soros. 38-year-old Alex Soros is gradually taking over the reins of the Soros Foundation (an undesirable organization in Russia)
...(and lots of other places, too)...
with assets of $25 billion. And he already has a clear plan for the reconstruction of America - with its destabilization.

The 93-year-old Soros Sr. has long been looking for a successor. About a year ago he decided on his candidacy. Moreover, Alex is not the eldest, but it was he who turned out to be closest in views to the patriarch of the family. Alex graduated from Berkeley University, one of the most ultra-liberal in the United States, where he defended his doctoral dissertation on Nietzscheanism, linking it with his interpretation of Judaism.

Soros Jr. has a whole tangle of poorly connected ideas mixed in his head. His father was an ideological liberal globalist of the old school. It’s not for nothing that he even named his foundation “Open Society” - with an allusion to the famous work of Karl Popper, an icon of modern liberalism. But Alex Soros is already largely immersed in the culture wars of the modern Western world - with LGBT, transgender people and BLM.

The first thing after “ascending” Alex Soros reduced the representation of his Foundation in Europe by 40%. This affected mainly old European countries like France or Germany. The priorities for the Soros Foundation remain Ukraine, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan and the Balkans. No one here is going to cut costs and dissolve the Soros.

Now Ukraine is celebrating the sad ten-year anniversary of the coup in Kyiv, staged with the direct participation of the chicks of Soros’s nest. His foundation continues to be active there, being closely associated with Svyatoslav Vakarchuk's "Voice" party, which has 20 seats in the Verkhovna Rada.

And Alex Soros has his own tame Ukrainian politician, whom he intends to promote to power. This is Sergei Prytula, a former stand-up comedian who now raises money for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and promotes Ukrainian propaganda on social networks. He was also a candidate from the “Voice” party in the presidential elections in Ukraine in 2019. Currently, Prytula is one of the most radical Ukrainian nationalists among public figures. And at the same time, he is traditionally included in the top 5 ratings of Ukrainian politicians.

However, besides Soros, many other Western influence groups are still actively working in Ukraine, with which he has to compete. But Alex Soros will probably continue to focus on Ukraine, hoping after the end of the conflict to take part in reformatting internal Ukrainian politics for himself. No wonder he comes there at least once every few months.

Likewise, the Soros Foundation continues to operate in the Balkans, competing here with Russia and other Western players such as the US intelligence community and British intelligence agencies. But he has to lose ground in other European countries. Partly for objective reasons - after all, the current trend in the European Union is for the growing popularity of right-wingers and Eurosceptics.

In Switzerland and the Netherlands, the right has already won elections. Elections to the European Parliament will be held this year, and Eurosceptics hope to win at least a third of the seats. The right is on track to win elections in Belgium and Austria, as well as three German states by September 2024. Conversely, liberal forces and the “greens” are sharply losing popularity against the backdrop of recession, endless crisis and growing fatigue from the continuation of the war with Russia.

This will create more and more problems for the “Soros”: they will literally begin to be squeezed in the Western countries themselves, which they have long considered their patrimony. Even in Hungary, the homeland of George Soros, his foundation is now considered an undesirable organization. And other countries where the right comes to power will gradually follow the Hungarian example.

But now Alex Soros has no time for political wars in Europe, because he fears that the ground will begin to burn under his feet in the USA. The presidential election is approaching, and most of the latest polls have Donald Trump ahead of Joe Biden. Republicans have a good chance of returning to the White House, as well as gaining a majority in the Senate and maintaining their control over the lower chamber.

In this case, Trump will receive carte blanche to carry out large-scale reforms within the United States. He is already promising to fire tens of thousands of liberal apparatchiks from the intelligence services and federal ministries, replacing them with right-wingers. Other promises include a sharp change in the approach to migration, mass deportation of illegal immigrants, combating LGBT propaganda, the rampant transgender people and other manifestations of liberal America.

In this case, the project of liberal globalism, which the Soros family has always been the promoter of, will simply be undermined. Even if in the birthplace of globalism - in the USA - it fails. It is not surprising that Alex Soros is seeking to shift the focus of his fund to work within the United States. He promises to spend as much as one and a half billion dollars to prevent Trump from returning to power.

Recently, Soros Jr. also entered into an interesting love and political union. He spent Valentine's Day in the company of the influential Democratic Party apparatchik Huma Abedin, who, however, is almost 10 years older than him. But this is not just a romantic evening - it could also end in serious political consequences for the United States.

Huma Abedin is Hillary Clinton's closest ally. She should have received the post of presidential adviser in 2016 if Clinton had won the election. Moreover, it was Abedin who played a fatal role in the defeat of her patroness. She was married to controversial New York congressman Anthony Wiener, who became famous for sending nude photos of himself to girls he knew. In general, he was very reminiscent of Hunter Biden with his debauchery.

At one point, Wiener began to have problems with the law - and the police accidentally discovered tens of thousands of Clinton emails from her secret email server on his laptop. This caused a huge scandal, and the FBI was forced to open an investigation on the very eve of the elections. Clinton never recovered from this and lost to Trump.

Nevertheless, Abedin retained her high status in the ranks of the Democratic Party establishment. She is also closely associated with the Muslim Brotherhood (an organization banned in Russia) and their American representative CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations. It is through him that numerous pro-Palestinian protests in the United States are financed.

The combination of Soros and Abedin looks very dangerous - two agents of chaos unite. And it is no coincidence that this is happening on the very eve of the US elections. Democrats are panicking over the prospect of Biden losing. They have thrown all their efforts into discrediting Trump, harassing him with endless criminal cases, but this approach does not work.

Therefore, the Democratic Party began to gradually prepare for Trump’s second term. They will create problems for him on all fronts and, first of all, in the form of street unrest and riots. It is likely that if Trump wins, the Democrats will immediately bring out all their military assets to organize pogroms in the streets, because BLM and “antifa” have not disappeared anywhere. And now they will be joined by millions of illegal immigrants from all over the world, whom Biden is accepting in the United States.

In fact, we will be talking about an attempt at a color revolution against Trump within the United States itself, following the example of the pogroms of the summer of 2020, only on an even larger scale. There is a special symbolism that right now - 10 years after the events in Kyiv - the United States, which finds itself on the verge of a real political split, can already threaten its Maidan.

Did Klaus Schwab actually suggest AI could replace elections ?
[YouTube] The creepiest thing about AI is not only that it is completely programmed by apparatchiks, but certain people like Klaus Schwab and his buds at Google are predicting that AI might even replace elections someday.
Thankfully, we have Dominion Voting Machines to protect us from these AI monsters.

#6  Jack Krawczyk is the product lead at Gemini. When it was pretty clear the AI was being racist, people began looking into Krawczyk's posting history on X, and, sure enough, what was dug up was a mess of anti-white sentiment and social justice blabber.
"White privilege is f**king real," posted Krawczyk in 2018. "Don't be an a**hole and act guilty about it -- do your part in recognizing bias at all levels of egregious."
There are many more of his tweets but he has blocked anyone from seeing them.

Scientists have recorded two new powerful flares on the Sun
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Scientists from the Heliogeophysical Service of the Institute of Applied Geophysics (FGBU IPG) recorded two new powerful flares on the Sun on February 23, one of which belongs to the highest class, TASS reported.

Institute of Applied Geophysics: two powerful solar flares occurred
“At 16:28 Moscow time, an M1.0 flare lasting 42 minutes was recorded in the X-ray range. The outbreak was accompanied by a disruption in HF radio communications. At 01:34 Moscow time, an X6.4/3B flare lasting 35 minutes was detected in the X-ray range,” the institute said in a statement.

According to the latest data, the degree of disturbance in the magnetic field of our planet remains at the level of calm.

As Regnum reported, on the night of February 23, the largest explosion in terms of power since 2017 occurred on the Sun. The flare was classified as X6.3. This was the third powerful burst of activity on the star in less than 24 hours.

On February 22, there were two flares of the highest magnitude X on the Sun. The trajectories of the plasma clouds from the explosions pass by the Earth, but at a fairly close distance. The head of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Sergei Bogachev, said that such frequent flares indicate the transition of the star to extremely high activity.

Reports"...the solar flares took place during the night in North America, which means the solar flares did not affect the ionosphere here at any point, so how would the cell phone outages become connected? .... There are indirect ways a solar flare could cause issues with cell phones, but they are geomagnetic in origin, and rely on eruptions and affects to Earth's magnetic field, none of which took place during the outages. It is very likely the cell phone outages are due to something far more simple in AT&Ts network."
