Afghanistan
Taliban reiterates longstanding demand for peace deal with Afghan government
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Talibs group has reiterated its longstanding demand in a bid to reach to a peace deal with the Afghan government as efforts are underway to revive peace talks with the group.

The group published an article in response to the ongoing efforts and demands for reconciliation, stating that if the Kabul government has interests and belief in peace and wants true reconciliation, then it should end the security agreement with the foreigners.

Taliban
...Arabic for students...
says peace efforts should only a motive for peace and such efforts should not have a motive for instrumental use to achieve victory in the war.

The group went on to claim that slogans for peace will result into elimination of reconciliation and further escalation of war.

Taliban also accused the government and supporters of Afghanistan for not having tendency towards peace and for hostage taking of reconciliation and erecting walls on the way of peace.

This comes as President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
on Saturday said the nation demands peace and an end to the conflict and the government has positively responded to the demands, emphasizing it is the time that the Taliban should also respond positively.

Announcing the end of the extended ceasefire with the Taliban, President Ghani said the Taliban group is facing the nation, religious scholars of the country as well as Indonesia, Pakistain, Saudi Imams and the holy mans of the Islamic world.

He said such pressures existed on the government as well which have been sidelined responsibly and the time has come that the Taliban should also prove their responsibility and decide on how they are going to face the pressures.

President Ghani once again called on Taliban to reconcile as he emphasized that the existing pressures are domestic and have no links with the outside.

UAE announces pause in Hudaida offensive
Hudna!
[Al Jazeera] The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a halt to its offensive against Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
rebels in Yemen's port city of Hudaida to give a chance to diplomatic efforts by the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
In a series of tweets, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said on Sunday that the pause was aimed at pursuing negotiations for an "unconditional" rebel withdrawal from the port but warned that full military action could resume.

"We welcome continuing efforts by UN Special Envoy, Martin Griffiths, to achieve an unconditional Houthi withdrawal from Hudaida city and port," Gargash said.

"We have paused our campaign to allow enough time for this option to be fully explored. We hope he will succeed."

Gargash said the pause had been in effect since June 23 and while there was continued "pressure on the parameter", pro-government forces were awaiting the results of an upcoming visit by Griffiths to the Houthi-held capital Sanaa.

Speaking to UN Radio on Friday, Griffiths said that the UN Security Council will meet next week to discuss the progress of the talks. He also said that negotiations between the warring parties could happen within two weeks, the first in two years.

"Both sides had shown a willingness to come to negotiations, saying such talks were long overdue," he said.

"The issue of Hudaida is an incredibly important issue but it is not more important than the issue of an overall political solution."

Yemen Govt. Insists on Houthi Withdrawal before Initiating Negotiations
[AAWSAT] The Yemeni government warned on Saturday against attempts by the Iran-backed Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. militias to hamper any ceasefire efforts in the war-torn country.

"Any ceasefire efforts will not succeed and will be thwarted by the intransigence of the Houthi militias in completely withdrawing from Hodeidah and the rest of the Yemeni provinces," the government said.

It stressed the militias have been "reluctant to abide by any ceasefire agreement during previous negotiations."

Attempts to liberate Hodeidah from the Houthis aim at sparing the city and its inhabitants from any harm and preserve the basic relief structure of the city and its strategic port, it added in a statement.

It reiterated its support for the efforts of UN Special Envoy to Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
Martin Griffiths, stressing that they are aimed at pushing the Houthi militias to withdraw unconditionally from Hodeidah city and its port and from Salif port, as well.

The government made its remarks following statements by Griffiths that an agreement had been reached to offer the UN supervision over Hodeidah port. He also expressed a willingness to kick off steps for the implementation of the comprehensive solution soon.

The government also pointed out that the full and unconditional withdrawal of the Houthi militia from Hodeidah, its harbor and the port of Salif is the basis for initiating the steps of the UN-led political process.

"The liberation of Hodeidah comes as part of the government's commitment to protect Yemen and its people from the repeated attacks by the Houthi militia on the state, its people and institutions, and to enable the political solution led by the United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
," the statement continued.

It stressed that the political solution in Yemen should be based on the three basic references represented by the Gulf Initiative and its executive mechanisms, the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue conference and Security Council resolutions in support of legitimacy, in particular resolution 2216.

In a statement received by the Yemeni news agency, Saba, the government expressed its deep concern over the Houthis’ continued violation of UN resolutions and international laws.

Five Hodeidah port employees die due to Houthi violations
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A Yemeni government official revealed that the crimes and violations committed by Houthi

militias backed by Iran against the staff of the port of Hodeidah have caused the death of five of them, the last one, Mansur Salam al-Hakimi, who died on Saturday, after the militias stopped the health insurance of the Port's staff.

Deputy Minister of Transport Nasser Sharif said that the coup militias and since their takeover of the port of Hodeidah three years ago have practiced many abuses against the staff and of the port including the exclusion of many of them and replacing them with members of its elements who lack the basics of navigational works.

He pointed out in a statement broadcast by the Yemeni official news agency that the aim of this measure was to harness the port and its capabilities for military actions and arms smuggling in a flagrant violation of Security Council resolutions and port functions as a port of humanitarian aid and commercial goods.

The Yemeni official added that the militias have taken the port's revenues and used them to kill and torture innocent citizens in the city of Hodeidah and areas under their control.

The Deputy Minister of Transport emphasized that the continued control of the city of Hodeidah and the port under the control of the Houthi militias exacerbate the humanitarian crisis and increase the suffering of Yemenis, especially after it was proven their implications in obstructing the supply of trade and relief for Yemenis, stressing at the same time the necessity and the importance of restoring the port from the control of the coup militias.

'We don't feel safe any more!': Furious mother blasts Sadiq Khan over closed police stations and lack of officers on the street during State of London debate as crime epidemic sweeps the capital
[MAIL] Sadiq Khan faced a furious backlash from a mother who told him communities in London 'do not feel safe' as the capital remains in the grip of a violent crime wave.

The audience member grilled the Mayor at the State of London Debate last night, telling him she cannot 'let her son out in the streets of London'.

Holding Mr Khan to account, she told him to give Londoners 'facts rather than statistics' about the unprecedented number of killings in London this year.

The debate followed the London Knife Crime Summit organised by the Mayor on Wednesday night - the same evening the capital saw its 81st murder.

Iraq oil exports from southern ports rise to 3.521 mln bpd in June
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iraq’s oil exports from the southern ports on Gulf averaged 3.521 million barrels per day (bpd) in June, slightly above the May average, the oil ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

Iraq exported 3.490 million bpd of crude oil in May.

OPEC’s second-largest producer’s exports generated $7.3 billion at a price of $69.322 per barrel, oil ministry front man Asim Jihad said in a statement.

There were no exports in June from the Kirkuk fields, located in northern Iraq but under the control of Baghdad, said the statement.

Kirkuk oil exports stopped in October, when Iraqi government troops backed by Shi’ite paramilitary forces dislodged Kurdish fighters from the region.

The country is producing below its maximum capacity of nearly 5 million bpd under an agreement between OPEC and other exporters including Russia to curtail output in order to support oil prices.

The Man Who Died Twice: Report Claims Palestinians Staged Gazan's Death
[Jpost] Videos showing the death of Ibrahim Abu Thurayya, a double amputee that Paleostinian officials claimed was killed by IDF sniper fire in protests near the Gazoo border with Israel in 2017, were staged, a recent report by the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America (CAMERA) claimed.

Abu Thurayya, 29, was one of two Gazooks killed in festivities with Israeli troops on December 17 of that year in protests against US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
's decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital. Abu Thurayya, a prominent activist, had previously lost his legs in an Israeli Arclight airstrike in 2008, the Paleostinian Maan news agency reported at the time of his death.

Paleostinian released two separate videos claiming to show the moment that Abu Thuraya was killed by Israeli troops, the CAMERA report stated. The two contradictory videos were taken at different times of day and show different participants. Similarly, the videos show a different location for Abu Thuraya's injury than that seen in a photo of his funeral, the report found.

Separately, an IDF investigation into Abu Thurayya's death concluded that Israeli snipers had ceased firing an hour before he was killed.

"This incident extends beyond the personal case of Abu Thurayya," the report concluded. "It demonstrates a propagandist mechanism of staging the injuring and killing of a person who eagerly anticipates his martyrdom and views it positively as his contribution to a campaign against the Jewish state."

IDF Beefs Up Troops On Golan Heights Near Syria
[Jpost] The Israeli army has reinforced troops on the Golan Heights near the border with Syria in light of a situational assessment by the Northern Command, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit announced on Sunday.

While the IDF does not expect the offensive to lead to direct festivities between Israel and the Syrian army, armored and artillery forces were deployed on Sunday morning as part of the IDF’s preparedness in the face of developments on the Syrian Golan Heights.

"The IDF attaches great importance to maintaining the 1974 disengagement agreement between Israel and Syria," read the army statement, adding that while the IDF will continue to maintain the principle of non-involvement in the Syrian civil war, it will continue its "policy of reacting firmly to cases in which Israeli illusory sovereignty is harmed and Israeli civilians are threatened."

Fatah: Iran Has Not Offered a Dime to the Palestinian People
[AAWSAT] The Fatah movement of Paleostinian President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
declared on Saturday that the current Iranian government and previous ones have never presented a "dime" to the Paleostinian people.

He made his remarks in wake of recent anti-government protests in Tehran in which demonstrators chanted "death to Paleostine." They also condemned all countries that receive Iranian support at the expense of their own interests.

Fatah condemned the "cheap" chants, asking: "Do the Iranian believe that their governments have ever offered a dime to the Paleostinian people? This is absolutely false."

Fatah official front man Osama al-Qawasimi said in a statement: "It is shameful for some to believe that the economic crisis in Iran was caused by support to the Paleostinian people. Iran has never presented anything to the Paleostinians even though Fatah and the Paleostinian Liberation Organization supported the 1979 Kohmeini revolution."

"We have never insulted them by words or actions and we have never meddled in their internal affairs," he stressed.

"We have never heard of Iran contributing to the construction of a school, university or hospital. We have never seen any development project," he continued.

The Iranians are very wrong in believing that Tehran’s support for a party means that it supports the Paleostinian people, he added.

Qawasimi stated: "Iran has never supported the Paleostinian people through its backing for Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",."

Moreover, he underlined Fatah and the Paleostinian people’s "respect and appreciation" for the Iranian people, condemning the "misleading voices" that do not represent the Iranians, "who support the rights of Paleostinians."

Iranians erupted into the streets of the capital Tehran earlier this week to protest their country’s poor economic situation.

Videos posted on social media showed them chanting against Paleostine, as well as the Gazoo Strip and Leb. They called on the authorities to "leave Syria and think of us." They also chanted: "We do not want the Ayatollah" and "death to the dictator."

In addition, they condemned the authorities for providing financial support for the Paleostinian Hamas and Jihad movements, Leb’s "Hezbollah", Yemen’s Houthi

Iran vows to thwart US efforts to block its oil exports
[Al Jazeera] Iran has vowed to thwart US efforts to block its oil exports by allowing private companies to export crude oil.

Eshaq Jahangiri, Iran's first vice president, also warned rival OPEC producer Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
that it would never take Tehran's "place" on the international oil market.

"We will surely do something to thwart the US rallying cry that Iranian oil [exports] must be stemmed," Jahangiri said in a speech during an economic event broadcast on state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
"The [Iranian] government has a plan ... and God willing we are certain that we will be able to sell as much oil as we want," Jahangiri added.

Iran is looking at ways to keep exporting oil after US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
's administration threatened to impose sanctions on Iran's business partners if they do not cut Iranian oil imports to "zero" by November 4, in an attempt to further isolate Tehran politically and economically.

India, the biggest buyer of Iranian oil after China, already asked refiners on Thursday to prepare for a "drastic reduction or zero" of Iranian oil imports in order to protect its exposure to the US financial system.

As sanctions bit, Iranian executives bought African passports
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] In January, the Comoros Islands quietly cancelled a batch of its passports that foreigners had bought in recent years. The tiny nation off the east coast of Africa published no details of its reasons, saying only that the documents had been improperly issued.

But a confidential list of the passport recipients, reviewed by Rooters, indicates the move meant more than the government let on. Rooters found that more than 100 of 155 people who had their Comoros passports cancelled in January were Iranians. They included senior executives of companies working in shipping, oil and gas, and foreign currency and precious metals - all sectors that have been targeted by international sanctions on Iran. Some had bought more than one Comoros passport.

Diplomats and security sources in the Comoros and the West are concerned that some Iranians acquired the passports to protect their interests as sanctions crimped Iran’s ability to conduct international business. While none of the people or companies involved faced sanctions, the restrictions on Iran could still make a second passport helpful. Comoros passports offer visa-free travel in parts of the Middle and Far East and could be used by Iranians to open accounts in foreign banks and register companies abroad.
