SNA deploys more troops in Galgadud, Middle Shabelle as it wraps up 1st phase

The Somali National Army (SNA) is ramping up operations in parts of Galgadud and Middle Shabelle regions as it winds up the first phase of the operations before heading south for phase two which will incorporate additional forces from neighbouring countries.

Military officials who spoke to Goobjoog News said the army was deploying in Adalle and Eldheer districts in Middle Shabelle and Galgadud regions respectively. The SNA has also bolstered deployments in Elbur, Wabho and Galhareeri.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is expected to pitch tent this week in Dhusamareb as part of the Federal Government’s confidence-building efforts. Clan militias under the Ma’awisley umbrella have been instrumental in reinforcing SNA and state government troops in the war against al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
since the joint campaign started last July.

Kenya, Djibouti and Æthiopia are expected to deploy additional 20,000 troops to fight alongside Somali Security Forces in the second part of the operation targeting Jubaland and South West states.

Al Shabaab casts wide recruiting net as Tanzanians arrested heading for Somalia

Al-Shabaab
...... the personification of Somali state failure...
turbans are recruiting foreigners from neighbouring countries, as fewer Kenyans are joining, security officials have said. Two Tanzanians were arrested in Garissa last Wednesday, while on their way to join the al-Shabaab terror group in Somalia.

It was the third such arrest of foreign would-be recruits in a month.

Security officials said the number of Kenyans flocking to Somalia has declined after they realised they were being duped with promises of glory, money and family support.

Officials said Tanzanians Abdirahman Shaffi Mkwatili, 25, and Sadam Jafari Kitia, 30, were arrested on July 12. They had a notebook with directions in Swahili on how to travel from Tanzania to Jilib in Somalia.

They were arrested in Korakora area, police involved in the operation said.

The suspects said they were heading to Somalia to join al-Shabaab after being recruited and facilitated by their handlers in Tanzania, police said.

Police said they have noted the trend of expanding regional recruitment as more non-Kenyans are travelling to join either al-Shabaab or ISIS. They are provided with travel arrangements avoid communications, especially telecommunications, while on the way or asking people about the route to avoid raising suspicion.

Police sources said the latest arrests came two weeks after three other Tanzanians — Abdul Saif Salimu, Zuberi Ngare Mtondoo and Seif Abdalla Juma — were intercepted in the same area following a report by members of the public.

A Ugandan national was also recently arrested in Liboi on his way to Somalia. Police said this was made possible by the collaboration between security agencies and the community.

"We think they are now targeting Tanzanians, Ugandans and others. Kenyans are avoiding joining them and those who do come back say things are thick there," a security bigshot said.

Sana'a Government accuses Saudi of stealing Yemeni oil revenue in money laundering operations

Hajar affirmed in a statement that the Yemeni oil account in the National Bank of Soddy Arabia

is being subjected to the whims of Saudi finance and the Saudi ambassador. He added that there are money laundering operations that take place under the cover of Yemeni oil revenues.

Regarding the economic collapse in the coalition-held areas, he stated that the economic collapse began before the Sana’a government had prevented the looting of oil, stressing that the deteriorating economy in the south of Yemen is a goal of the coalition. The statement was made in reference to threats from the American ambassador during the Kuwait negotiations.

The US ambassador previously threatened the national delegation to the Kuwait negotiations at the beginning of 2016, a few months before the decision to transfer the headquarters of the Central Bank, to make the national currency not worth the ink that it was printed on.

Hajar also confirmed that the economic policies of the Sana’a government prevented the economic collapse that the coalition countries pushed for since the transfer of the functions of the central bank from the capital, Sana’a, in 2016

On Monday, Erdogan was received by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman in Jeddah.

The Ottoman Turkish presidency announced that an agreement was struck between the Ottoman Turkish and Saudi defense ministries as well as the drone manufacturing firm Baykar.

Baykar is a Ottoman Turkish company specializing in combat unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and co-run by a son-in-law of Erdogan. It is well-known for manufacturing the Bayraktar drones, which has been sold to more than 28 countries.

The drones were used in the Azerbaijan-Armenia conflict in 2020 on the side of Baku, as well as by Ukraine in its ongoing defense against Russia.

Other deals were signed in the sectors of communications, defense, economy, and energy. Ankara agreed to cooperate with Riyadh over encouraging direct Saudi investment in Turkey.

Erdogan’s Gulf tour is aimed at securing investment deals in his country, with the president seeking a quick solution for Ankara’s bleeding economy.

On Monday, the Ottoman Turkish lira recorded an all-time low against foreign currency, as Erdogan said that Gulf leaders promised him in previous meetings to make significant investments in Turkey.

Ottoman Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat last week said that the UAE is expected to make investments of up to $30 billion in multiple sectors in the country such as food, logistics, pharmaceuticals, and medicine.

Home Front: Politix
US House overwhelmingly passes GOP resolution backing Israel meant to rebuke Dems
In which House Republicans act quickly and decisively to the Jew-hating proclamations of the Rep. Pramila Jayapal, chair of the 100-member Congressional Progressive Caucus, incidentally forcing the rest of the Democratic party delegates to stand publicly where they must to keep their donors while angering their favourite voters.
[IsraelTimes] Nine, mostly from Squad, vote against bill seen as response to Pramila Jayapal’s criticism, though top progressive votes ’yea’ as other Democrats slam politicization of issue

The US House on Tuesday overwhelmingly passed a symbolic resolution reaffirming support for Israel that was introduced by Republican politicians in an implicit rebuke of a leading Democrat who called the country a "racist state" but later apologized.

"The State of Israel is not a racist or apartheid state, Congress rejects all forms of antisemitism and xenophobia, and the United States will always be a staunch partner and supporter of Israel," read the resolution that passed 412-9-1.

The vote came as Israel’s President Issac Herzog was in Washington for meetings with President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem mschine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family...
and other administration officials, with a handful of progressive Democrats planning to boycott an address to both chambers of Congress slated for Wednesday.

The resolution does not mention Representative Pramila Jayapal of Washington by name, but was introduced days after she criticized Israel and its treatment of Paleostinians at a conference on Saturday.

Jayapal, the 100-member chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, walked back the comments the next day, insisting they were aimed at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government and not the Jewish state as an entity.

But Republican Rep. August Pfluger pushed forward the resolution forward with the support of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy
...the GOP house majority whip. He replaces Eric Cantor, who got whupped because his politix are like Kevin McCarthy's...
who ostensibly eyed an opportunity to divide Democrats over the issue.

Democratic Reps. Jamaal Bowman, Cori Bush, Andre Carson, Summer Lee, Alexandria Boom Boom Ocasio-Cortez
Dem Congressgirl from da Bronx in Noo Yawk and leader of the Mean Girl Caucus in Congress. One of the Great Minds of the 21st Century, she is known as much for her innaleck as for her dance moves. She is all in favor of socialism, even though she's fuzzy on the details. She was the inventor of the Green New Deal, though she doesn't talk about it much anymore...
, Ilhan Omar
...Somali-American Dem representative from Minnesota. She was apparently married to her brother and may be her own grandmaw on her mother's side...
, Ayanna Pressley, Delia Ramirez and Rashida Tlaib made up the "no" votes and fellow progressive Rep. Betty McCollum casted the lone "present" vote.

Among those voting in favor was Jayapal herself, as well as several progressive Democrats normally harshly critical of Israel, such as Raul Grijalva and Chuy Garcia.

Just about all "no" votes were members of the progressive Squad, five of whom have also announced plans to skip Herzog’s speech to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday.

Among those five is Tlaib, who spoke from the floor in opposition to the resolution ahead of the vote.

"Israel is an apartheid state," Tlaib said, citing several rights groups, including Israeli ones, that have reached that conclusion. "The government is deeply problematic in the way that they are proceeding in the structure of oppression."

Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries avoided referencing the "no" votes entirely, saying in a statement that "The decisive vote by House Democrats in support of the Israel resolution once again demonstrates our strong commitment to the State of Israel and her right to exist as a homeland for the Jewish people."

"House Democrats will remain steadfast in our ironclad commitment to Israel’s security, as well as to a robust two-state solution where the Israeli and Paleostinian people can live side by side in peace and prosperity. I look forward to welcoming President Isaac Herzog to Congress for the Joint Address," he added.

Others in the party were quick to criticize House Republicans for turning Israel into a political football.

"Kevin McCarthy and House Republicans rushed this resolution to the House floor for the most cynical, most repugnant of purposes: weaponizing antisemitism and the US-Israel relationship to score political points," said Jewish progressive Rep. Jerold Nadler, who voted in favor of the resolution.

He accused the party of paying lip service to Israel’s actual needs, noting McCarthy’s refusal to cancel testimony from fringe presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. to a Republican-controlled subcommittee, after Kennedy suggested that COVID-19 could have been "ethnically targeted" to spare Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese people.

"Kevin McCarthy eagerly put this resolution to a vote, all while his party invites an antisemitic conspiracy theorist to testify before a House Select Subcommittee this week," he said. "The Republican Party is working to undermine the United States’ historic bipartisan support for Israel all while supporting efforts that stoke tensions in the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict."

Where are all the DC Jewish Elected representatives on this issue? Because, they seem to be mimicking Funktionshäftling / Lagerältester (KAPO's) and would play politics to keep their privileges instead.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Report: Netanyahu told Biden opposition parties aren’t serious about negotiations
[IsraelTimes] US president pushed PM in Monday call to reach compromise on judicial overhaul; he responded that opposition fears backlash from protest movement if it were to reach an agreement
The Palestinian Authority, both now and back when it called itself the PLO, has always had the same problem.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. SOld, boring, a plagiarist, fond of hair sniffing and grabbing the protruding parts of women, and not whatcha call brilliant... or is that an act?...
that opposition parties are not serious about negotiating an agreement on the coalition’s planned judicial overhaul, according to a report Tuesday.

The Walla news site said Netanyahu asserted during his Monday phone call with Biden that the opposition fears a backlash from the national protest movement, which rejects the entire legislative package, if it compromises on certain issues.
To be fair, the national protest movement — really Antifa on the US State Department payroll and US Democratic Party advisors — is only doing the Biden administration’s bidding.
According to an Israeli readout, during their conversation, Netanyahu updated Biden on the legislation. Netanyahu told Biden he aims to move ahead next week with a bill, fiercely opposed by the opposition, that will remove judicial oversight over the reasonableness of governmental decisions, and to use the summer parliamentary recess to build more support for "the remaining parts of the process."

Critics say the bill and the overhaul as a whole will dangerously erode Israel’s democratic character by sapping power from the High Court of Justice to act as a check and balance against the ruling majority. Netanyahu’s right, far-right and religious coalition says the overhaul is needed to rein in what it sees as an over-intrusive and activist court.

Citing US and Israeli sources familiar with what was said in the call, Walla reported that Biden pushed Netanyahu to negotiate a compromise with opposition parties.

The prime minister is said to have responded that there is no point in speaking to the opposition because its members aren’t prepared to hold serious negotiations as they fear the response of protest groups.

Netanyahu previously assured the White House he was prepared to reach an agreement. He agreed to pause the overhaul legislation in late March in order to engage in negotiations with the opposition, brokered by President Isaac Herzog, that sought to reach compromises on judicial reform. But those talks fell apart last month and the Netanyahu government decided to move ahead with the overhaul unilaterally.

The White House readout of the call emphasized, among other matters, the US president’s ongoing concern about the legislation.
Yeah, yeah. President Biden wrinkled his forehead on cue and everything. He can still do that, even when he is only babbling nonsense, poor man.
It noted that Biden repeated "the need for the broadest possible consensus" in Israel over judicial reform, and "that shared democratic values have always been and must remain a hallmark of the US-Israel relationship."
“Next cue card needs an F-47, Joe. Hold it up high so the president will see it.”
Biden also "expressed concern about continued settlement growth and call[ed] on all parties to refrain from further unilateral measures." The Netanyahu government has advanced more settlement construction in six months than any government has in a calendar year, while failing to clamp down on settler violence and wildcat Israeli construction that the US views as inhibiting prospects for a two-state solution.

The unnamed US and Israeli officials told Walla that Netanyahu said of the settlement activity, "It’s mainly planning. It’s just announcements. I don’t think there will be any more construction plans in the settlements that will be promoted by the end of the year."

Some Hebrew media outlets took this report to mean Netanyahu had agreed to a settlement construction freeze, but Netanyahu’s office denied this, and it appeared that the prime minister had been referring to a technicality — that the Defense Ministry’s Higher Planning Council, which approves Israeli construction in West Bank, was not scheduled to meet again to grant approvals before year’s end.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran warns US against ‘provocative’ deployment to Gulf
“Don’t call our bluff!”
[Rudaw] Iran’s foreign ministry on Monday warned the United States against any "provocative" actions on its borders, after Washington announced it was deploying more fighter jets and navy destroyers to the Gulf region in response to recent Iranian activities in the Strait of Hormuz.

A senior defense official told Pentagon news hounds on Saturday that the US was sending F-16 fighter jets to the Gulf region to protect ships against the threat of seizure by Iranian forces in the Strait of Hormuz. The news was confirmed by the US defense department on Monday.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) earlier this month said it had prevented attempts by the Iranian navy to seize two commercial tankers in the Gulf of Oman, and claimed that Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
had opened fire on a tanker.

"In light of this continuing threat, and in coordination with our partners and allies, the department is increasing our presence and ability to monitor the strait and surrounding waters. We call upon Iran to immediately cease these destabilizing actions that threaten the free flow of commerce through this strategic waterway of which the world depends on for more than one fifth of the world’s oil supply," Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh told news hounds.

Singh said they are deploying the destroyer USS Thomas Hudner, and F-35 and F-16 fighter jets to areas under the responsibility of CENTCOM in light of the "recent alarming incidents."

During his weekly press briefing on Monday, Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said that Washington’s decision to beef up its presentence in the Gulf could cause insecurity and instability in the region and noted that Tehran maintains the right to defend itself against American "provocative and illegal actions near its borders."

"Iran reserves the right to make the necessary deterrent arrangements in compliance with international law’s rules and regulations, and will exercise its inalienable rights accordingly," he added.

Tehran and Washington have had frequent altercations in the vicinity of the Gulf ever since the US imposed sanctions on Iran’s economy, particularly its oil exports. Iran has repeatedly demanded the US withdraw its forces from the region. In May, Iran said that it was closely monitoring the Persian Gulf after the US announced it would bolster its presence by upscaling the rotation of ships and aircraft patrolling the vital Strait of Hormuz corridor.

Pro-Hezbollah paper voices pessimism after 'escalatory' Doha statement
[An Nahar] Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
’s pro-Hezbollah al-Akhbar newspaper on Tuesday criticized a statement issued by the five-nation group on Lebanon as "escalatory" and "a declaration of a new tutelage" over Lebanon.

The statement "resembled a mourning of the French initiative and a near-termination of the mandate granted by the U.S. to Gay Paree in the presidential file," al-Akhbar said.

The statement perhaps "declared the end of French presidential envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian’s mission," the daily added.

"Informed sources have questioned whether Le Drian will visit Beirut again, seeing as his visit has become unnecessary, and should he make it this month as had been decided, it will be marred by a lot of tension," the newspaper said.

"The threats contained in the statement contradict with the positive developments that the region has recently witnessed and will have negative responses and results in the Lebanese scene, pushing the political forces, especially Hezbollah, to further inflexibility," al-Akhbar added.

Informed sources meanwhile told the daily that Le Drian told the conferees that "there are major disagreements among the political forces and impossibility to reach consensus without an international intervention or an agreement sponsored by the participating countries."

"The U.S. and Saudi sides voiced objection against the French envoy’s call for dialogue among the Lebanese with Arab-international sponsorship, considering that it will not lead to a result and might end up in a place targeting the system and leading to drastic changes in it, something that Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
strongly opposes," the sources said.

The sources added that the closing statement was "a Saudi formulation par excellence" and that "it was Riyadh’s representative in the meeting who proposed the idea of imposing sanctions before it was endorsed by the Americans and the French."

"The Qatar
